But in truth, the time lapsed between hitting the hand, and then touching the grass face down is insufficient to declare it under control, because the act of taking the catch was incomplete before the ball touched the ground. Ponting's brain decided on self preservation over taking the catch cleanly, and that nullifies the catch, as it blocks the balls release from the hand when with the final impact of the body hitting the ground. The floor is thus used to secure the ball in the hand. Plainly not a catch.

@simonharris4873 In the past, before the advent of hard helmets or head protection, Bouncers were killers. The rule of only 2 bouncers per over didnt exist back then. Bowlers were terrorizing in the past.

Well it is only cheating if you accept the punishment as far as BCCI is concerned. Too many times the BCCI has bluffed the ICC into withdrawing match suspensions handed down for various infractions including a match suspension handed to the mighty Sachin Tendulkar. As far as cheating and punishment goes Australia is the only country which has rejected the ICC’s inadequate sanctions and imposed their own bans which were far greater than the inadequate bans imposed by the ICC.

The sandpaper debacle was a blot of Australian cricket at the time and should not have happened. What is happening now in Australian cricket is not what you are professing with this video. The entire squad knew, and it was going on for DECADES. Non stop cheating for 50 years. That is Australia, and their ugly sporting culture.

Sorry brother but India also have another level of cheating biggest example was this ICC World Cup 2023 when they knew that the event is taking place in their own country so they were doing biggest cheating in the history of Cricket by changing the pitches 1 night or 1 day before the match to show the opposition team weaker although they themselves were very weak which was clearly seen in the finals when Pat Cummins exposed the Real cheating face of Indian team and Indian cricket Council. They tried their best to not get caught while doing this all cheating stuff but they were clearly in India VS News Zealand match when the toss was taking place and especially in the finals when they tried to change the pitch... News Zealand team even raised this Indian cheating issue when they were knock out from the tournament... So bro look at your team and your cricket Council/ Management cheating history instead of pointing out on Australia or any other team... As far as Pakistani team is concerned whenever they were caught involved in such cheating stuff those players have always paid heavy fine or faced suspension from team... There is a huge history of Indian team as well related to cheating so you better do your homework next time before raising fingers on any other team...

I had same opinion and high respect towards cummins. As a leader, it didnt occur to him that he needed to ask his player or umpire whether catch was leagl. Afterall, he is NO vishwanath to recall batsman though umpire had given him out. Though bit short of height, he was high on morals / sporting spirit than the tall and hollow cummins.

It was a disgrace, and it was deliberate interference by Australian home umpires. His action was natural, and was proven to be from a deformity, but it was not an illegal action. The fact they waited, showed the disgraceful way Australia entered into a bowling action dispute, that proved to be natural. I am thinking that Pakistan, India and Australia had dodgy umpires. Australia's throwing call on Muttiah Muralitharan was a pre organised set up, and won a series. The level of cheating will never be fully understood, but getting away with underarm bowling showed they could do whatever they wanted, and the public will not care as long as they win, but they will wail like stuck pigs if you lose.
