Use your succulent tray for your pencil sharpener. They can be a little messy, and you can clean your tray out easy peasy!! Love everything 😍😍

You could use the stones as worry stones and put them in the wooden bowl so students can retrieve one if they are worried. My 4th grade students love the worry rocks when they are testing. It really relaxes them.

hello!! im 10 years old and really want to be a teacher and your really inspiring! i know im really young right now but im really looking forward to becoming a teacher when im older! thanks for you inspiration!

I use the water sprayer on hot days but I tell my kids it's "quiet spray". As they come in on hot days I tel them it's a quiet spray kind of day and as they come in and sit, I have them get out their AR books to read and if they are quiet and settled down, I go and spray them. This prompts others to quiet down and stay on task so they can get sprayed too! My third grade kiddos love this!

And I’m almost 12 but I’m still 11

When I taught first a part of my morning work was counting collections. The kids would get a tray and a container of various things I kept to count and went off to practice counting

I'm a first year teacher (4th grade ELA) and after watching this video... I don't feel so bad anymore about how much stuff I have accumulated. LOL ... J/K Great video!

Currently binge watching your videos!! I’m from McMinnville (about 45 minutes from Murfreesboro!) I have done two practicums with Tennessee Tech in the Tullahoma area. I find out soon where I will be student teaching! I would love to hear your experience in the Murfreesboro area. I have thought about moving! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for you! Good luck!

Loved this haul!! You bought some great stuff!! Stickers are great for having students do sticker stories too! They place stickers on a writing page and then write a story about them. My Kinders love it when I put them in our writing center. :-)

That mini fan from 20:37 was my FAVORITE THING ON EARTH my freshman year of college. It was so helpful & worked so well! I used it literally all day so it quit after about a year and a half of use but it was so nice for those 18 months!!!!

You could use one of the planters or little tin buckets you got for holding all of your expo markers or extra supplies for the kids by the pencil sharpener

Or you could use them for little popsicle stick things for calling names

Loved your video! I think the wall rod would be great to hold some of your extra chart paper on some rings and just hook it on there. Just a thought. I can't wait to see the rest of your classroom setup series!

I think those rainbow "post it's" are actually pieces of paper instead of sticky notes. But I am so excited you made your channel because I love it!

Love your excitement about all the things you've purchased for your classroom. I'm sitting here in mine looking around and have been trying to decide if I want to change my colors/theme this year. You've convinced me to lean toward the natural look. I already have a lot of natural, burlap, plants, and galvanized items so it should be easy to add some additional accents. Thanks for the inspiration! Oh, I had an idea about your task card storage boxes which you may have already thought of. I'd organize them by subjects into the various colors: and arrange them with like colors grouped together: math cards in the blue, science in the green, vocabulary in the pink, etc. Might be easier to find what you're looking for! Excited to see the remainder of your set up videos. I see some binge watching this weekend! ;-)

That "worry" plaque is GENIUS!!! EWhat an absolutely perfect addition to any classroom...older or younger but definitely a great idea for the first week of 1st grade! Love it!!!

Also, I can't remember who I saw do this but...I saw a speech therapist, who worked in a school with small groups, give each of the kids in her small groups(usually with 4 or 5 kids) each one of those finger puppets and used them in her reading group. After each page she read to them and before she turned the pages, the kids had to just lift a finger if they understood what that page was and if they didn't put a finger up she would stop reading and go over the page. I also saw her use it in the classroom as a classroom management tool...she was having trouble with kids trying to talk over her and over each other so she used the finger puppet as a way to teach them that the only person who should be talking is the person with the finger puppet. If the child raised their hand, she'd pass them the finger puppet and they could talk. Now, I think that might take a bit too much time if you had to do that all day, every day, but maybe on those "chicken nugget days" when the troops were restless. (that was something we all joked about...that the kids seemed to be crazier on the days that the cafeteria served chicken nuggets for lunch haha) Lots of great ways to use the finger puppets!

I have a tip, when I was in fourth grade my teacher would give us tickets if we did something good we would write our name on it and choose when we would put it in the bucket (some of us collected them all year). Once a week she would choose 5 names and those people got to choose something from a bucket. Almost everything in the bucket was from the dollar tree. Also it gave us something to look forward to every week.

I'm really enjoying watching these videos, can't wait to see how your classroom looks when you're done! I thought it was so cute how much you talk with your hands, when you would say "I went to two stores" and held up the number 2 with your fingers I thought thats probably from being a grade school teacher, haha!

I just finished my first year of teaching in Rutherford County! I’m headed back to Knox County this year though which is where I am from.

Be careful spraying students with oils and rubbing chap stick on students hands...different schools have different policies and I would highly suggest getting individual parent approval first. Many students have allergies and you could spread skin diseases you are unaware of.

So just a question, I am going to be going to school next year to be an art teacher, and j was wondering how much of your supplies cost comes out of pocket? I also was wondering if their is any form of compensation for the supplies?

It depends on the school you are at! At my school, for example, every teacher has a budget. It varies depending on your school. New teachers at my school get a little bit more! It really depends. You can write some things off on your taxes, as well. Hopefully you go into a room with a lot of supplies already there! Good luck babe!

NONE of it was financed by my school. I wish I knew how much I actually spent!

I have no idea why Im watching your videos.. I am at college, from Czech Republic, we have completeley different education system, I have nothing to do with this career But I just love to watch your videos, I love how enthusiastic you are about it.. and I love stationery as well.. It amazes me, how different your system is, 99% of teachers in CR just learn the kids, no decorating, no creative teaching, no enthusiasm which is so sad for me ://
