GD is the first idol to start producing songs for his group, he made it normal, so all of the BB songs that you listen are written by GD mostly, T.O.P usually writes his own parts but GD is the main composer/producer of the group

Even Trot songs too, kind of Korean traditional song, GD wrote only 2 trot songs for DaeSung from 2008 to 2009, sr I don't remember exactly when but with only 2 trot songs , BigBang is Kings 😂 It's A BIG HIT and LOOK AT ME, GWISUN 😎

Big Bang made it a norm to write and produce their own music and more than that they had a LOT of creative control from concept to fashion etc. Crazy how much they’ve shaped the whole kpop industry.

Rj you have no idea how BIGBANG destroyed the music industry with Fantastic Baby, Bang Bang Bang and Loser when it first came out. I'm so grateful I've been enjoying being a fan since then.

I would suggest to do a video with ballads. One of their best is Haru Haru, We Belong Together. I suggest Blue, Let's not fall in love, Tell me Good Bye, My Heaven, Last dance, If you.

BigBang was the first Kpop Idol who produce their song. Loser is a beautiful and sad song, especially when they said it was about their experience and when GD talked about his depression or TOP said about his suicide attempt.

TOP hadn't tried to k*ll himself (that we know of) back when LOSER dropped even though he struggled with his mental health back then. It was after he left for the military when the attempt happened and he thankfully survived. His verses in LOSER more so discuss his difficulty in maintaining relationships given his discomfort of people getting too close to him and what he calls his selfishness; so when the woman looks under the cloth she's gotten too close and seen too much so he destroys that relationship and ends up alone.

@Starli Cense not sure where you got the news that Top was hospitalized due to overdose in 2008. He has been struggling w depression ever since he was young but he didnt have any overdose incident in 2008. In fact he didnt have a lot of scandals until 2017 compared to other members. He even said that in his interview with Radio Star. It was only in 2017 when he overdosed with prescribed anti-depression pills after his marijuana scandal to which he admitted recently that he tried to committ suicide. This is the only confirmed case. Others were just rumors. GD wrote and co produced most of their discography with TOP writing his own rap parts, TOP and Taeyang were also credited for co-composing some of their songs.

☉BAE BAE MV explanation: BAE BAE is indeed sexual but it also shows different phases of a person's life. 🔼 First, GD represents puberty, where this boy is curious about opposite sex. He is surrounded by so many females but they are all mannequins which shows he is interested in girls but he's too shy or he doesn't dare to talk to/approach them for real. The angel shows his innocence of being young/his spiritual side but he has this hidden side too. 🔼 Taeyang represents the next stage a bit mature where he is so lonely in the beginning(alone on the horse) but finds his special one and is in love now. . 🔼T.O.P's part is all about making love and of course having kids in other words getting married and having family. 🔼Daesung's part represents the phase of life where the person is satisfied with being with the love of his life and living happily with her. 🔼 Seungri's part represents growing old together (both Ri and his partner has white hair). He is afraid to lose (melting flower) her but as you can see she disappeared and all the members fall slowly which means death. 🔼Now there is a Korean folk tale that an immortal rabbit pounds rice on the moon to make rice cake. So the lyrics our chemistry is like sticky rice cake (chapssalteok chapssalteok gunghabi uri uri gunghabi) represents the eternal love and togetherness even after death. They are enjoying their after life with their partners on moon. Also tear drop, burning windmill, their sad faces has deeper meaning as failed relationship or the hurt they received or mistakes they made when they were in a relationship. Thank you for the interpretation, it's really interesting but I must say I have some doubts about some of your explanation. First, like you said the song is clearly sexual. The 19 at the beginning while there are no sex scenes is here to remember that fact. So for top part, I think weird the getting married idea, I mean top is in a cavity full of flowers and in French we talk about being I don't know how to say it in English but it's like take the flower of a woman. when she makes love for the first time a woman loose her hymen. So the set of top part makes me think at the first sex-time. OK there is a baby at the end but it makes me think more at "sex has consequences" than getting married. Or it would be getting married because of a pregnancy. And as I know the rice cake can be also a sexual metaphor for an unbridled sexuality. Yes, they are on the moon but the women are in kisaeng clothes and the reason why men visit kisaeng it's not for eternal love but more for having an unbridled sexuality. And there is the two rice cakes that have a collision + the white seeds that spread+ their faces when they fly.... personally all of this don't give me eternal love vibes. I don't tell that I'm right, just what I feel when I see the mv. And I'm wondering why a sexual song with lyrics about selfishness desire to keep the beauty of a moment should have a mv who talks about eternal love? It's a bit disturbing way of thinking to me, like an extrapolation for avoiding thinking about the fact that they are men too and can have sexual desire without love like any other human being on the earth. I don't mean that's what you said or think, and I don't think so. Again, I just wanted to say what I feel about this interpretation. I hope my English is not too bad. Have a nice night

🍺SOBER MV Explanation: Sober tells the story of a person who runs away from his problems in life with alcohol and fantasies. hate being sober. 🔼G-Dragon seems to be building his own fantasy world. 'smoke' means 'dream' or 'fantasy'. G-Dragon also imagined fantasizing about having a beautiful girlfriend as the men in the scene wanted. his life is just pathetic. 🔼Bunch of papers which is symbolizing 'money' in the MV. Through the scene Seungri portrayed someone who is actually obsessed with wealth that he dreams of buying everything and spend all the money he could. on the board in the mv it says 'joy', 'pride', 'lust', 'joy' which money can buy but the lyrics say otherwise. 🔼Taeyang in the bathroom of smoke which implies the condition of someone who is lulled by their overdose fantasies. Taeyang is trapped by his fantasies and his own thoughts that he can't stand. in the scene he chokes on excessive smoke (dreams) making it difficult to breathe. 🔼in T.O.P's part He is portrayed as someone who put a faith in his dream even though it is considered 'childish' to people around him. 🔼Daesung play as someone who is tired and sick of the job and life. He then run away from the stress by dreaming. 🔼The 'DREAMS' sign on the last scene symbolized the dream that we are aiming for and to achieve we will need to process in the right way as like it is symbolized by the 'One Way' sign in the scene. after achieving the dream and goal we set don't be afraid to set another goal and run for it. Looking at RJ's expression in Bae Bae really made me smile the whole time. Lol. Like, he is thinking something inappropriate esp. in TOP's scene but he just can't believe if what he think is really what the scene implying to 😅🤣 .. Bae Bae is rated 19 RJ. Btw. BIGBANG MV is like that all the time. Like, they are very unique even just in mv since they don't do the typical kpop mv. Their mv were always insane,like you can't understand what the hell is happening. It is really nice having a journey of BB with you RJ :) I hope you could check out their early release too :)

I really burst into laughter with Bae Bae hahahaha! I read it from a comment before that rice cakes is like an idiom for sex. Hahaha! Just be aware that they always use Korean idioms that is difficult to translate to English. Anyway, if you checkout their discography, G Dragon writes 95% if not all of their songs, so it is really relatable. From writing, composing & arranging, he is so involved with it. 👑

14:08 BIGBANG is probably the only kpop group i know who are free, they can do whatever they want and not being controlled by their company maybe because YG has always said that “BIGBANG made YG”, YG owes BIGBANG for making his company big.

For Loser, Daesung's part was so sad.... when he said he became weary of people's eyes.... he used to be loved by the masses and was on a lot of variety shows... but one day after he got in a terrible car accident he started getting death threats and he chose to stay out of the publics eyes.... withdrew from all shows and public appearances... and had to fight to live and not be grappled with guilt and being unworthy of living. To this day he doesn't drive anymore and has been living a very quiet, secluded life. Before he was the Smile Boy and very witty and funny and everyone loved him.

I think Melon music awards 2015 was better than Mama 2015. You got almost everthing. Great perform, 5 songs, crazy and louder crowds, and Bigbang win best artist of the year in the last part.

That whole “This company has X. That company has Y etc.” They’re referring to this era of k-pop. No one was doing MVs like YG and BIGBANG. Everyone else was shooting in studios while YG was shooting cinematic MVs on location. Everything was a whole ass spectacle. BB stages are also insane and not so choreo oriented like other bgs. They just fill the stage with their presence. Sometimes TOP would just not do any of the choreo, and no one would write articles about how he wasn’t hardworking lmao. ‘Loser’ is about their lives as these huge celebrities. Having all these people looking up to them when their personal lives are falling apart. Even though they definitely broke the idol mould and got away with somethings that would’ve gotten other idols in hot water, their lives were definitely not wholly theirs to live as they pleased without there being huge public backlash. GD was in the entertainment business since was 6 years old. He spent 5 years training at SM before going to YG. Even BB’s time leading up to their debut was documented for TV. It can’t be easy for them to maintain healthy personal lives when so much is intertwined with their public personas.

The one with long hair in Fantastic Baby is G Dragon; Blue hair is TOP; the one in chains is Daesung; the frozen one is Taeyang; 'cat men' is Seungri.

Rice cakes are made by pounding them. Its euphemism for sex. What you were thinking about TOP squirting milky substance is spot on. Result = baby Bae Bae is stages of love and relationships GD: fresh and new Taeyang: close and ready TOP: marriage and baby carriage Daesung: old age and retirement Seungri: death

I go to a lot of kpop party’s and let me tell you it‘s always the loudest and craziest when Big Bang comes on 😂 love it!

My confession as a VIP is that I didn't like Fantastic Baby when I first heard it and I couldn't find the connection between the song title (Fantastic Baby) and the concept of the MV (music reigns). But when I learned more about GD and his lyricism, it all fell into place. He can make opposite ends of the world meet with his lyricism. GDragon wrote most part of all the songs you have reacted to so far. TOP writes his own parts and Taeyang has contribution in some songs. GD also had 2 solo full album releases aside from Bigbang's.

Few sets of facts: G-Dragon has had every hair color/style you can ever imagine (some I love and some...) G-Dragon started as a trainee at 8 and he spent almost every day writing songs in some way, that was part of his training Bigbang do indeed write their own music, I suggest checking out solo stuff as well. You want a list I can give you one. The members of Bigbang were the first to do both group and solo stuff, before them, people left their group if they were going to go solo. Taeyang seems to not really like shirts, and T.O.P is always fully dressed (there was a drama he was in however...) because he was self conscious about his weight as he was rejected by YG initially for that reason. The lyrics in Loser were written by each member for their verse and are super personal. As many have stated, live performances are where it is at for this group. Charisma off the charts. Most 3rd and 4th gen idols have members of Bigbang as their idols. Their has been lots of freedom for this group unlike many others and sometimes that is good and sometimes that is not so good. I feel that they don't really hide their true personalities, but that means they get hurt a lot by comments and certainly criticized for mistakes. I think they are just human. Little nervous for this comeback because I have waited so long. I cannot tell you how many times I have listened to the MADE album. The earlier MVs are lower quality, but the songs hold up. Lies, Blue, Haru Haru and Tonight will be favorites forever. No one asked but T.O.P is the bias

The best Bigbang live is on Awards Show and on their own concert🔥 Music show like inkigayo or Mcountdown is good but Bigbang on their own stage is more insane

yeah it's them doing this. GD (the leader, the one you like) is a fashionista, has his own label, has been invited as special guest by every big international designer even before gangam style was a thing. He's the creative head behind almost all shit bigbang do :D (also writing, producing). While he was in the military (i.e. not releasing anything), he still topped the chart of most earnings from royalties in that year, he's that huge.

The whole MADE project was a cultural reset for the entirety of kpop. Also the album itself was a masterpiece and included actual paintings on canvas. Regret getting only one at the time cause honestly they were beautiful.

Being a YG group, they definitely produced their albums, especially GD, he is their main producer.

At 12:17, when Taeyang threw the cross that had “Sin Will Find You” written on it, and then he jumped and then the cross hit the ground and it broke, the part that was broken says “WILL” 😭😭😭 it gave me goosebumps when I first realized it.

The MV for "Bae Bae" is all about sexual innuendo. Most of what you saw happening was a tounge and cheek reference to something sexual. Like I said before, BigBang is much more adult than the average Kpop group and they aren't afraid to cover topics that often make people cringe or blush, or can make the general public uncomfortable, etc.

imagine how shooked RJ will be to see their live performances haha.. I can't wait!!

When you knew Bigbang for more than a decade, but still don’t know what to expect. For they were always coming back with different style and music.😅 We’re waiting for them for years. And yet, I don’t think my heart is ready for the comeback!😭😂

BIGBANG definitely has a say with the styling, choreo and everything about their craft. they are definitely hands on. and that's what attract young aspiring idols to join YGE. especially on producing their own songs

Bigbang is truly a king of k-pop. No one can beat them in stage presence alone. I suggest you watch their live stages especially on MAMA.

Bae Bae is the weirdest kpop MV I will ever see. But the song is a bop! Now, you can react to two award show performances. MAMA 2015 where they sing Loser, Bae Bae, and Bang Bang Bang (one of the most iconic award show performances) and also MMA 2015 where they sing Bang Bang Bang, Sober, and Fantastic Baby (my personal favorite award show performance).

8:17 "It doesn't even seem like they are from here; like this planet" Interesting, because when you said this, it reminded me of their concept during this era. When they were touring (Alive Tour), the opening video on their concerts showed that each members were inside their own capsules and were dropped from space then landed to Earth.

I think Loser is one of my favourite Bigbang songs! Bigbang didn't come out with music that often for being kpop so i was already super emotional when they finally came back with this album but I really resonated with this song at the time it came out. I believe it was Taeyang, GD and TOP who wrote this song. I also totally agree with what you said about being an idol and how they have to be perfect all the time. It must be a lonely life for most of them.

The best I can describe BB to someone who's new to kpop is that they made the weird and unusual "normal" and also a part of their storyline. They incorporated visuals that were so unexpected and unique in their mvs which made the viewer not want to look away.. *They hooked you with visuals, moved you with the lyrics and made you happy with their energy..* Style icons, artist but at the end of the day, humans just like the rest of us..Big Bang made me embrace my weird..😁

You CANNOT get into Bigbang without checking out their live performances. I suggest any of their MAMA appearances as a group or their Melon Music Awards performance!

Now you have to do their classic songs like "Lies" and "Haru Haru"...but you have to watch their concert performances, especially from 2012 or 2015. (the mvs are good too though)

There have been several essays written about the meaning of Loser. This is just one interpretation. I prefer the one that delves into the idea that each scene represents real events and fears that plague the individual members. GD being alone, T.O.P harming others or himself, Seungri being cheated on or falling for the wrong girl, Taeyang committing a sin (that's his real dog that passed away in the mv), and Daesung being attacked by the public (pertaining to his tragic car accident). GD's version tackles the very real feeling of being a performer and onstage being loved by thousands/millions and the severe depression that follows that when you're all alone in your hotel room. This has led many to self-harm, switchblade or violence, destroying the hotel room, baseball bat, and even suicide, bathtub scene, which is followed by GD, ghostlike, wandering the streets - even laying down on the street - but no one sees him anymore. They all could be perceived as having committed suicide (Korea #1 in the world for suicides). T.O.P is covered in blood in the alley, his own?,Taeyang jumps off the roof and Daesung starts a fight he can't win and is seen being beaten at the end....are they all dead in the end? T.O.P is wearing a jacket with a skull on the back. Taeyang has even talked about getting hurt irl flinging himself off the building and landing on the pads wrong, so that one is definitely meant as a suicide. That's just one of the darker interpretations. Art is all about how the audience perceives it, and in this case, LOSER, like most great art has many interpretations. The amazing thing is everyone responded to this song as a very personal song. Check out the MAMA 2015 performance (LEGENDARY) of Loser, Bae Bae, and Bang Bang Bang. The audience knows every single word of LOSER for a reason. I'll only add a quick note on Bae Bae that "sticky" is a term used a lot in Korea as a metaphor. Rap styles are even described as sticky. So the sticky rice cakes are also a form of sexual innuendo.

I remember when FANTASTIC BABY came out, the Korean public were shocked because it was the first song with that type of sound. Kpop was completely different at the time. And it's still a bop to this day. BIGBANG were the first group to write, produce, and come up with their own style and concepts, which is why other idols look up to them. LOSER story line is based off their own personal lives/ struggles. 😭

They (or mostly GD) write and produce the music (first idol group to do so), the styling (they do of course have a stylist, makeup artist and a hairstylist, that they have worked with since their debut in 2006), the MV's, everything. They even pay their conserts form their own pockets and are involved in everything from lights to the stage and every small detail. Bigbang is pure G Dragon and Taeyang composed . Rap wise is TOP. All YG rappers, even 16 yr. Old Haruto write their own raps. So far, Bigbang, WINNER, AKMU, IKON write and produce their own singsand now Treasure is starting to write their own songs. IKON during BI Era. Nowadays, some producers are helping them. YG in-house producers are envied by many. But hard to pirate since most are also performing artists. Treasure have been blessed to be given songs from their seniors. Like SLOWMOTION was from AKMU Chanyuk. And Wayo of Yedam was from Yoon of WINNER. and now Yedam is the one giving a song to his Senior, his Born to Love You demo shown in TMAP is now WINNER Yoon's single recently.
