Bout time somebody made a vid of a sbm. Best smallblock on the planet. With the rite amount of aftermarket support they would dominate. Mopar to the front
That crank is a piece of art
This duster is absolutely sick ... enjoyed watching the engine build..
Good talking to you guys at SickWeek
Man that is just beautiful....
That’s a really nice engine, good luck this year

Thanks!
That duster was no joke, now I see why.
Man thank you so much I been waiting this one
I was hoping to see the epoxy job on deck of engine block what I'm about to do 😂
Glad this popped up in feed I noticed a duster with the 340 call-out on the hood during other people’s coverage of sick week. You scoot along pretty good thanks for keeping it mopar..

Are u going to run a twin turbo setup??@@Big3Racing
Thanks Bob for explaining everything. Good luck !
I love cometic head gaskets. I reuse them multiple times and have no failures yet, of course Im only 700 HP and not in the same situation.
That was a good video, and an Awesome small block.

Wow ! Holy crap !
On my stage five hemi conversion I have a Crower billet Kim, and naturally I got the bronze drive for the distributor and oil pump we coated the bronze gear, and the camshaft with molybdenum disulfide, and my bronze gears in excellent condition with thousands of miles on it

Wouldnt they need stretched/torqued more the second time (when putting em in the engine) to achieve the same amount of clamping force that the bolts call for since they have already been torqued and stretched once already outside of the engine? Or do they go back to original size once lossed kindve elastic metal. Being strong steel i doubt it

they return back to their original length
I have a question (and i am not a builder and have never raced): Bob, has anyone ever "dimpled" the counter wieghts on the crank shaft (like a golf ball) instead of polished smooth? Having played golf, i know a round object travels thru air with less friction with dimples. It likely does not help parasitic power loss much but i was just wondering. By the way, wow, what a build!

Some people do this on intake ports on cylinder heads . Not sure if it works I don’t think I’d go through the trouble of doing it for minimum gains .

@@AnDrEw122100 thank you for your responce, I thought someone might have tried this because of the science of air flow. And if it made any difference, it makes more sense that it would be in the intate ports.

@@Big3Racing thank you Bob. My question was because I had watched the episode of Mythbusters where they put clay on the outside of a car and cut "dimples" in the surface. They got better gas mileage with the dimple covered car compared to the smooth painted car. I enjoyed watching the rebuild. I had never seen bolt stretch measured before as the means of more accurate torque.
First time seeing you, what block are you using?😊 And what rods and crank shaft?

@@ghostrt1608 They are Brett Miller heads. He starts with bare castings and runs his program on them.
What are the set screws in the lifter valley for ?
@Big3Racing

those are just plugs into the lifter oil gallery to help with cleaning the block
do you coat the piston skirts?

not on this engine but we do on others
Impressive small block. I know they’re heavily modified, but what heads are those? W19s or something? lol
