Big Willow - The Idaho Off-Road Riding Area You Forgot Ever Existed (7,000 ACRE BLM CLOSURE)

Ойын-сауық

Welcome to one of my favorite riding areas of the past. This is Big Willow, Idaho. An area that was closed due to MilkVtek weed in 2009, by the BLM. The BLM worked with a local rancher, and eventually they got the environmentalists involved to close the area. I am revisiting the area and telling its story.
I hope you enjoy the video and maybe i will see you on the trail!

This video needs tens of thousands of views. Good dialogue and important dialogue. My wife and I drove by the main OHV parking lot out there about a month ago, just stumbled upon it and wondered about the history of the area. Good to know. Its a simply gorgeous spot that we should certainly still have access to.

Mighty DRZ! Freedom is the only thing we all have exactly in common. What we chose to do with it is what makes us different. Love the video 🤘🏼

Yep, we should ALL fight for freedom. I would hope that americans all love it, but it seems like most prefer chains.

I would recommend it for sure. I need to find some spots to teach mine to ride as well. This is a good spot, and there are a couple good ones over in emmett as well.

Those 1/1000 are the real problem. The BLM aka government bureaucrats will take pictures and video of that crap and keep,it for evidence. It’s extremely frustrating and sad.

Freedom costs a buck-o-five. That area looks awesome, no wonder selfish landowners what to keep it to themselves. Nice duel sport destination though.

The land owners had just a tiny section that was being ridden. The big reason for all of the closure was the MilkVtek weed that the BLM discovered.

@@RacerRed So I never heard of MilkVtek and nothing comes up in a search except for strains of canabis (lol of course they would close it for that) but I did find Milk vetch which is fricking locoweed, lol. This is what it says, 'In Idaho, it is restricted to the southeast portion of the state. This is the extent of its range and it is considered a rarer but not endangered plant species of the Rocky Mountains.' Not an endangered plant, go figure.

Maybe the Enviros planted the rare weed.
