PLEASE WATCH PAST 4:20 to see my true opinion! The first part of this video is SATIRE to prove a point!
Face it guys, there are things about dual sport adventuring that can really suck. Wind, rain, snow, discomfort, cold, heat, etc etc etc. Is it really worth it? Stick around until the end to get my honest opinion. Before you get angry, make sure to watch past 4:20 !!! That's the whole point of the video. Through the good, bad, and ugly, it's the contrast that makes adventure amazing! :)

As I get older, I've found that I don't have to take those long adventure rides anymore. I've got memories, some better than others. But, I'm happy I did them when I could. MC rides now have become almost spiritual in nature, and a 2-6 hour ride is therapy for the soul. Dual Sport rides are the absolute best!

+eveRide ADV Not really possible, because there are many of us who aren't religious and we just shake our heads at the spiritual references. I think all riders already relate to the idea that motorcycle riding is therapeutic in the general sense. There really isn't any other reason people ride other than they love it and get a lot of satisfaction out of it. But this pretty much applies to all hobbies or activities in general, doesn't it? Nobody would participate if they didn't have any therapeutic benefit of some kind.

I remember my first ever tour in my country, was about 1010km long, I rode for about 14 hours on my (now sold) honda nc700x. It's still impossible to forget the scenes, rain, cold, animals crossing the road and many good friends I met there. Ah and the soreness, I really miss it. After that my life has changes and has been focused to new perspectives as you said. Now I am aiming for a world tour, after two years from now, on my new suzuki v-strom 1000. I just can't wait. Part of the plan is to spend the rest of this year convincing my wife for letting me go :D Thank you my friend for this amazing video. I teared a bit when I saw your son crying, for I have a 2-year-old and I know how it feels to leave him. I wish I can ride with you someday... Cheers. Faisal, Saudi Arabia

First rule of road trips. If you think you might need gas, just stop and get gas. Even on a superbike I frequently stop every 50-80 miles just to stay fresh. Better to stop for a 15 minute fuel/stretch break than get stranded for hours or longer.

The whole video reminds me of my first trip, 1000 miles, alone, starting in the rain on my supersport bike. Everyone I talked to beforehand thought I was insane (especially with a stock seat). Yes, I had trouble walking about the first 10 hours (~550miles) sitting on the bike, but it was worth everything I had seen and lived that day, even the hypothermia (it rained the first two hours at ~55-60F and even my break at McDonalds using hand dryers didn't help to dry my clothes)! When it comes to videos like this, where you narrate a story and tell everyone how awesome it is to have a motorcycle, you clearly are the best, Mr Everide!

With Quite a few of the Hardships and challenges you faced. In the heat of some bad moments there is a lot of fear / anger. Its hard to describe. Damage to the bike, being stranded miles from help. Injury's. Epic scenery. The brutal wind at altitude. Going from shorts weather to Fear of Hypothermia in hrs... For some crazy reason.. I want to do another trip as soon as possible... I just wanted to say thank you. This trip series is still one of my favorites from you.

I have to disagree with you on one thing. It's not a little bit like life. It is life. Life has it's ups and downs and so does undertaking adventures. The plus side to the adventure taking is that you are on an ADVENTURE! It could suck completely, but when you look at the big picture you will always have an awesome story to tell regardless of how it turns out. This was a really great example of perspective and I hope people take something away from this video to the tune of - it's all about your attitude. Your attitude can make the rain awful, the seat caused butt craps, the man parts in your throat all the worst thing on the planet. On the other hand, the adventure, the pictures, the videos, the fresh air and beautiful views and ride can all over come that stuff and make for an awesome trip as long as you stay positive and focused on why you took the adventure in the first place. /book much love, CDS out :-)

I don't mind light off road, but I am not into the single track and technical stuff with hill climbs and jumps. I mainly stick to sensible easy fire roads or ATV trails, and thats when I off road. Particularly liked the brutal honesty about the pain you go through doing this because when someone only shares the good, it feels like they are selling something. HeroRR, every motorcyclist needs to do a solo trip. It offers peaceful self exploration, and so many more people approach and talk to solo bikers. No distractions make every moment more amazing, and the sites that much more memorable. Yes, sharing is most often better, but solo trips broaden the sole. I recommend at least one week, no reservations, full tank of gas, money in your pocket, gear and supplies packed, and point your bike toward the twistiest scenic most roads you can find.

It may partly be my personality, but people always seem to want to tell me their stories, and I always come away with a greatly enriched sense of the places I’ve been because of that.

Love it, all the stuff at the beginning can sometimes be what haunts you on a long day, you find yourself asking yourself repeatedly: "what an I doing?" Having not felt your fingers and toes since lunch, sun is setting, and there is nowhere to pitch for the night due to bear warnings, and your jaw is uncontrollably chattering... What you'd give at times like that to be in the comforting embrace of a loved one. Then the universe surprises you! And you remember why you're out there alone, frail to the elements, afraid of predators.

Dead on! As a rider who prefers to travel on two wheels rain, shine, windy, snowy, I choose to ride. Each ride I gain experience of difficulties I learn to over come. As I master each difficulty it just becomes muscle memory. I ride for the challenges it presents to me so I can clime to the peak. As riders 99% of us have been stranded on the side of a road at some point and had to deal with such hardships that humble us and aides us as a community of riders. 2 days ago I had to push my tiger to a gas station 1/2 mile away so I can use a high curb that allowed me to roll this heavy #|!&\ on the truck. The challenge was met and accomplished. Love your work good, bad, and even the ugly

Just did 350 in a day from Spanish Fork, to Idaho Falls in an storm. I feel like I played a football game and lost. I was pretty sore. Once I got there, it was worth it though, fun rides along the Snake River and up through Island Park. Long stretches on slab on a dualsport = painful and sucked. I will say, watching you push your bike, I am happy I had my IMS 6.6 on my KLR. Didn't even need to stop!

No matter what we are faced with, perspective can change the way we see our situation. The longest trip I ever took on a motorcycle. 1,2xx miles from Ft Hood Texas to Nashville, Ga on a '92 Honda 250 Nighthawk. But that was the BEST ride I ever had. At the end of the trip, the rear tire was SHOT and my chain was ruined. The worst ride was an attempt a few months earlier on that same bike to make a spontaneous trip home to see my wife. However weather slowed my progress and fatigued me so badly that i had to stop in a hotel in Louisianna and return to my post the next day and tired, beaten blob of a human who was devastated at not getting to see his wife. I have never experienced a ride in weather so brutal since. I got my wife to accompany me on a day ride to a lunch gathering of riders last year. just shy of 200 miles round trip. It was hot. Very hot. We were beat at the end of it... but it was an enjoyable experience, and I got to share it with my wife, and she got to put some miles under her little GZ250. Never want to go without a bike again.

Some may say what we do is dangerous. And on the other hand, some may say what we do isn't dangerous enough. But then you have folks like us who leave the arguement and choose to live and enjoy life for what it is. We all expire sometime, might as well enjoy your time up until that moment comes. Your videos are great man! Cant wait for the next.
