I love the crispness of a new page and I feel like unless you have REALLY THICK paper you will get some warping and I find that uninspiring which is why I go in order for the most part. The back of each page does have warping but it's not all over the place when you go in order if that makes sense

i usually jump around in mine, depending on what they cost me, then go back and fill random pages till i have a full one.

Thanks for sharing your sketchbook! I'm intimidated to draw in my sketchbook because I'm worried I'll draw for an hour and still not have something I'm happy with. But your sketchbook seems like a safe haven, a place to doodle and just have fun with the process. That's how I want to approach my sketchbook. Since I suck at coloring stuff out i just leave everything as a sketch without coloring anything in. Which is sad bc im sure things would look cool but yeah 😂 if it looks bad just leave it as sketch hahah

Answer of the day: I always use the bookmarks, if a sketchbook doesn't have it I make one in it. Answer two: I go in an order, but to others it looks like I don't.

I have to go in order or else I will be annoyed. I have OCD so everything has to pretty much be spot on perfect.

I literally just bought my first illo sketchbook about a week ago , and when I got it , I was anxious on the first page , so what I did , was worked in the middle haha , and then started jumping around ... so now I really like doing it this way

Hip hip hooray! A Mira Byler sketchbook tour come today! Also, I'm also trying to draw lots of body types, so could you do a video on that? Maybe on anatomy?

I’m a griffendore, I also visited the wizarding world of Harry Potter at universal studios Orlando, and bought a lot.

I found an old sketchbook from around 2014, when I was quite depressed. I remembered loving the sketchbook though, so this was quite nice to watch as inspiration while drawing! Some really cute ideas and not everything needs to be perfect

really nice!!! and love the blubbleflies and blubblemoths and blubblebees!! they are soooo cute!

I go in order in my sketchbook but now I'm wondering if jumping around would be more fun🤔 great vid! 👍

For my sketchbooks I always go in order except for the first and last page. (For the first I leave it to be the last so it’s the “best” looking. And for the last page I use it for searching my supplies. Idk it’s worked for me.)

I use the string and I go in order. It would personally drive me nuts to jumps around 😂

When I first saw your bean bugs I was so happy and surprised because when I was much younger I had made a whole world of bean animals. I even made a book about bean horses that even included a page on bean horse anatomy. I was quite young then, in the mid 70s so the art left a lot to be desired, but my mom loved it so I was thrilled. I still have that thing somewhere, I was that proud of it hahaha Fast forward to the future of flying cars and instant food in capsule form you just add water to ( yep, that's what we were told to expect by now) and my childhood creations are being created by a professional creator. Awesome. 🤗

I never go in order, sometimes I think about leaving it but after some drawings I get ideas that might relate to the other so then I go back and use the other page

love the girl with the sock puppet. love the girl with the pigtails and the gold pen. I love when you do those blubberflies. Posca are on my list of ideas for my birthday

Such a super lovely sketchbook! It is so nice to see your cute doodles and sketches, your patterns and then your super detailed and wonderful food drawings! Like damn~ if I will draw some food, then it's because of you! :D

I have NEVER done a list and goals of my sketch books... and never jumped... MAYBE that's what I should try to actually finish a sketchbook...! this was really neat!

This did give me encouragement. I love my sketchbook, and yet am terrified of it sometimes. I can go days (weeks?), sometimes without sketching even though I love to sketch.I think that's where the terror comes from. Crazy I suppose. Can't wait to see your new sketchbook brand.

I love sketchbook tour videos! It's so cool seeing all kinds of creativity! My sketchbook doesn't have a bookmark ribbon thing for some reason, but my bullet journal does & I use it constantly. More blubbleflies please! They're so CUTE & need to be on all the merch things! I'm a proud Hufflepuff who paid someone on Etsy to make my Pottermore wand. What a nerd, am I right?! 😂 I can't wait to see what merch you release in the future! I already know I'm buying all of the things lol!

That’s cool you revisit stuff!

I use mine from the first page to the last, most of the time. That being said, I have some books I have for practicing, where I've split the books into sections. My doodle sketch book, to practice lines is broken up into puzzle (where I do zentangle in each piece of a page sized "puzzle") My studies sketchbook: I have a Flora section, a fauna section, gestural, and structural. I bought 4 of these mini sketchbooks. The first was random, and the other one is characters. They're all Daler Rowney simply hardcover sketchbooks 3.5"×5.5" I absolutely love the paper in these. My alcohol markers work so well on it, as long as I put a paper between the pages. You have to be careful to not have it run outside the lines, but it blends so AMAZINGLY! And it does soak in a little, but there is just something about the texture that wiorks so well with them. I find alcohol markers don't rip it somehow!

Mira gurl I feel asleep this video! You're so cool and so chill, and you art is so pretty... everything is just like therapy. I never draw in order either, but mostyl because I make my own sketchbooks with detachable pages. Then I can move them around and take some out, or even add more pages! Its so great for me and my needs :D

I totally use the string AND I always draw in my sketchbooks in order. But your way sounds more fun so I'm going to try randomly using whatever page pops up in my next sketchbook just so I can maybe inspire myself to think differently. Habits are the enemy of creativity.

My sketchbook doesn't have that string but I think they're fancy schmancy and I'd probably use it if my sketchbook had one. 📚 I always go in order and even get upset if I accidentally skip a page. 😑 There's a basketball team named The Cabs?? (I don't watch basketball) Is their mascot a taxi driver???? 🚕 I haven't heard you mention these Blubbleflies. hmmm 🤔 Doesn't Harry Potter have black hair???? 💇🏻‍♂️ I have no idea what house I am - I'm not a big Harry Potter fan but I've taken two tests online out of curiosity, one said Hufflelump (??) the other was something else but not Slytherin. Can't remember the names I just know there's four. 🏘 (Griffindork???) I LOVE YOUR SELF PORTRAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🖼🎨

That string is like a book mark

i died from all those cute drawings. the cacti destroyed my soul with cuteness especially when you introduced, "sheltered catus"

your not the only one ma'am, everytime I start drawing, somebody always gets up and leaves. I'm not even drawing them, I just draw whatever pops into my head.

I use the book mark on my book. Infact it was a requirement for my new one to have XD.

I mostly go in order. But I don't always finish a page in one sitting. So if I'm not in the mood to finish it but want to draw something different in my sketchbook, I'll skip ahead. And yes, I use the bookmark to mark the page I was working on but haven't yet finished. I'm very curious to see what you've chosen for your next book! I love the Illo for it's shape and size (and also the way the paper works with most mediums) but it's so frustrating that it's never in stock! However, they aren't archival/acid-free which also makes me think I'll look elsewhere when I'm ready for my next one.

I use that string. With often being in wrist braces due to some previous injuries to my wrists pulling on the string is way easier than gripping a book and leading through pages

I need to get me some sketch books that size and maybe a gold pen. lol.. Your sketch books look like fun to make. You definitely have inspired me to sketch and doodle more. I just subbed. 🙂 I guess we are never to old for stickers. lol.

I still use my first sketchbook from 2014 and use all the space I can. I will go back to old pages and if there is a blank spot, I put something there.

I prefer to go in order, but in my last two, and current Art Journals, I have had to back track and work out of order, for several pages.... but I still work in order, as much as possible. Thank you for sharing. =) I enjoyed the stories behind the sketches. =) And I love every page. =) Good luck with the macrame project. =) AWE! The Blubbleflies are adorable!!! =)

I don’t really go straight in order, but I don’t jump around in random spots either. I just skip certain pages if there is something small on it or if I can’t do the art I want to do that day on there (like alcohol markers since they bleed through), I just skip to the next entirely blank page, and later on I finish blank spaces on certain pages.

Great Sketchbook! I especially love the Bubbleflies & -bees and the drawing @18:11 ;; I actually don't go in page order...Somehow it helps me with 'blank-page-fear' and takes the stress away from trying to improve with every page.

The blubbleflies make me want to pull my sketchbook out & draw them. I haven’t doodled in forever

I am a Ravenclaw!!! :) And I keep several sketchbooks at a time that I use for different things (like watercolor, sketchjournaling, drawing, etc.) and fill them all in the "right order" - I don´t know why actually. Maybe I should try jumping around, it sounds fun :)

I go in order. It helps me be organized. And actually fill up all the pages. Also...I order a Illo sketchbook, I am getting it tomorrow. Have any tips?
