I’m so excited to see how the TAN takes shape as you continue using it! I like how simple and clean their layout is, and the single column with decoration feels very approachable. I love full pages, so I think if I tried to use the A5 for journalling, it’d be too much for me to maintain a daily basis. Also, I’m with you on the heat - we just got through a heat wave in Toronto and I’ve realized that it’s me (and my skin) in a mood while it’s happening. My ideal temp is 8-15 C 😅 🍂🍁

I'm like the simple and clean layout a lot, and I'm very excited to finally start writing in it today. Can't wait to show the pages soon! And I'm glad to see, reading the comments, that I'm definitely not alone in not really enjoying summer weather. 😅 Today is a lovely fresh day here, I'm wishing you the same!

I used a TAN A5 as a work planner for 2 years; it was the perfect planner for my old job! I do kind of miss it. I’m currently using a B6 Sterling Ink Common Planner as my journal, this is my second year using it for this purpose; I love the structure of the weekly pages and the freedom of the blank pages at the back. I can journal as little or as much as I want without having to restrict myself to a certain amount of pages. For me, this flexibility has been amazing! Enjoy your new TAN!

Thank you! I can totally understand how the flexibility of the blank pages in the back of the common planner is a winner for you. I feel like I need the soft 'push' of dated dailies, but a set amount of space for each day can definitely be a downside of that.

@@ruonpaper I completely understand and relate to your point too! I realized I can’t use undated planners because I just end up neglecting them. But the weeklies from of the CP are just enough to keep me in check. 🤭😅 I do hope you find a planner that works for you!

I used the TAN A6 for the first half of the year as well. It worked ok, except I liked to see my whole week on 2 pages. Ended up getting the B6 for the second half of the year.

Hi Ru! I’m also really intrigued by the TAN as a journal so it’s cool to see that you’ve gotten one for that purpose :) I look forward to your mid-year system update!

I like the idea of the Take a Note planner, but I'm wondering if I would like the week on two spreads... but I would use it for planning, so maybe that's the problem.

Yeah, I think for planning the layout wouldn't work that well for me either. The B6 version has a completely different layout, with a vertical weekly on 1 spread. That one might be worth checking out 😊

Can’t wait to see the TAN in action! Also to validate you, I’ve also been suffering in the heat and totally agree with the entire rant about the weather 🥲

I use TAN in 2023 and love it but i need more space to decorate or do any paper collage so i use jibun techo days this year

I'm curious if your current system in the SI is not working? I know you mentioned you wanted to try other planners for next year, but is the current one not effective?

There were definitely a lot of things that worked well in the common planner, but the thing I struggled with is the combination of planning and journaling in the same book. I don't like doing both to-do lists and journaling on the same daily page, so I did all of the planning on the weekly spread. But that wasn't effective for me, as I like having a big overview of all the tasks for the week (for that, the weekly spread works alright), and then a very detailed to-do list for the day. Doing that in the back of the common planner would've been an option, but I'm very intrigued by the Papertess Designs having the weekly and daily pages consolidated, and the weekly pages having a layout that I think works better for me. To be honest, I think I could make a combination of the TAN and the SI common planner work, but I really wanted to try out the combination of the TAN and the Papertess Designs to see if that could be the 'perfect' system for next year. Sorry for the very long reply, hope it makes a bit of sense 😅
