the funny thing to me about Yoshi-p is that he's not actually much involved in the nuts and bolts development, he's just really good at planning things out and the game on track. You look back at games like FF 13/15 and everyone says the games were almost destroyed simply by being too ambitious and too unfocused. So really the only thing special about Yoshida is he's one of the one high ranking devs left in any company that seemingly only cares about delivering a good product He legitimately just seems to care about making the customer happy, and it's kind of sad that that makes him something of an outlier in the industry....

​@@petriew2018 I think it's a bit reductive to say 'one of the only devs', more like he's of the too rare devs to know how to put the right talent in the right place, and when to say 'okay, that's going to be the scope we're aiming for and no more'. That, and knowing how to sell a project to rope in the higher ups too. I think there's plenty devs left who also care just as much, but lack this particular to plan out and delegate to the right people and shoot for the moon, or fail to keep creative control over the project before the suits.

Ain't happening. If they did Nomura would be pissed. That dude hasn't been home since he joined the company back in the 90s. Yoshi need to at least be able to handle what nomura does. Yes i am joking and i hope the dude takes a long vacation. But he still has the upcoming ffxiv 7.0 which are redoing all the graphics so more than likely it will be once thats done then he will get a day off.

@@notting2640 I doubt it honestly. Even the FFVII remake wasn't a blockbuster hit. As much with Yoshi P worked on it doesn't mean it can't flop or just be mediocre. Trailers are very deceiving

FFXIV might scare off some people because of how clunky and slow the early game can feel, but hopefully XVI will be a testament to the passion Yoshida puts into his games and the entire world will finally see why this man is beloved in our community.

I've been playing a lot more anime fighters like Guilty Gear these days tho, Strive is one of my all time favs. There's a new MK announcement coming soon as well, but even though I love the idea of that game, I'm not a fan of fighters with block buttons lol.

FF16 and Armored Core 6 coming out this year. This year a goddamn banger year for games.

I cant believe what I just watched. Im blown away. Brings me back to the FF13 opening cutscene. But man this just pushes the limits of gaming to its peak. This this is looking to be a real game.

For people who are wondering. The dmg is low probly because of showcase reasons. They released sone new videos where the enemies life drains faster, specifically those who come in hordes.

Looks insane and I cannot wait to dive into it. Music, visuals and battles all are S-tier. Music was such a standout too

Ralph Ineson has such a cool voice! I love his roles in "VVITCH" and "GoT", it's like he has a hardtack infused with Chalk of Endurance and an enchantment of Slow Time of Crisp stuck in his throat.

We are on good hands. Naoki doesn't disappoint❤️😀

Combat looks bas tho, it's like the enemies don't have any decent attack and clive's life bar is always full. The thing that makes souls combat interesting is the enemy attack patterns, people talk about memorable boss fights not how cool the character looks

@@Lysergic25 i know they have the dmc 5 guy, but I'm still worried cause the people who worked on ff14 also worked on it and people will complain about the spongy enemies like dmc. They shouldve made the enemies faster, have more varied attacks so there's more dodging and blocking rather than constant combos. Not releasing simultaneously on PC will also hurt, cause there are literally millions of ff14 players that would buy this game day 1 without even looking at reviews cause they trust this team, they're missing out on millions of early sales, they couldve set new sales records and bring even more people into it, ff14 is more popular now than its ever been and ff7 remake brought new people into final fantasy

Does amon not change the resolution in yt settings? Everytime I watch a video of him watching a video it looks like shit. Not the game itself specifically the resolution. Either way I'm excited for this new FF.

Crazy to think that kingdom hearts used to be the action RPG final fantasy series. Now the mainline series has followed suit. Some of those huge titan fights reminded me alot of some of the fights in Kingdom hearts actually. Also I'm starting to get hyped for kh4. I hope it's gonna be sick.

Nier: Automata also had the auto-evade and assists. I think it's great for games like this. Some people just want to chill and enjoy the story.

i think it's a far better way to adjust difficulty than simply trying to throw in an 'easy mode'. It looks like a system that allows you to pick and choose what you want assistance with depending on what's giving you trouble, and you can turn them on and off at will so you don't have to play the entire game a certain way we'll have to see how it plays, but conceptually it seems pretty neat.

@@petriew2018 and honestly I think the “few extra seconds to hit r1 to dodge” accessory is genius You still need to hit r1 to dodge, but just those few moments of slow can be enough to better process the situation in an ARPG for some Whereas the auto-dodge I think might be a touch too far on helping because it might force you to move during combat in a way you didn’t expect it to move you

Look absolutely tremendous! Looking forward to the game. This is my Cut off point for anything else on the game, dont want to be spoiled anymore. Yoshi-P/Dev Team are such hard workers. Big W for them picking up the DMC combat dev. He better get a huge bonus/promotion on its success. Not for just simply implementing it but for making it fresh in this world of FF

The PS5 came out almost 3 years ago and only now we finally see the first game truly worthy of being called next-gen.

recently started playing the final fantasies in order from where i stopped years ago. Currently on ff12, got 13/15 and 7 remake all on pc. Since i have no ps5 i dont mind waiting half a year or so to play this. Got alot to play first haha.

hope we get more weird post-game dungeons like the one in FF15

I swear based on the gameplay this feels like a spiritual successor to Asura's Wrath and I'm loving it!

Really wish they would make a spin-off of FFXIV with this same level of gameplay and graphics. A prequel around the same time as Garlemald's invasion and the fall of Ala Mhigo (about 15 years prior to 1.0) could make a great setting.

if final fantasy online looked like this, I don't know how they would code / implement the backend to handle that amount of people lol.

Been guarding my hype about this game for well over a year already. I'll be getting it on release for sure, and I'll be buying the pixel remasters 1-6 in four days time to tide me over until release.

Everything in the state of play and everything that has been shown already is real time from the PS5. The cinematics are real time also, not pre-rendered cgi.

I hope the game isn't too easy. My biggest concern at this point. Everything looks fantastic. Hope it feels that way too unlike FF15

I haven't been really into FF since FF10 on ps2. I use to be obsessed with the series on SNES and PS1 but I fell off after 10 but this looks actually awesome and might make me a fan again

I feel like they are showing a bit too much. That scene with Ifrit running across Titan's arm was insane, and I would have loved to experience that in the game.

I'm going with the logic that they know what they're doing and if they showed that they've got more in the chamber stored up to make you even more surprised and excited. Atleast that's how im gonna look at it, and if that ends up being the case this might be one of the greatest games made in the last 10 years, and probably won't be topped by anything other than another FF title. I hear what you’re saying, but consider how awesome it’d be to see it on a large flatscreen in front of you with controller rumble in your hands.

I really do think one of CBU3's biggest talents is just being "as anime as possible", in the best possible way. Flashy fights, amazing looking abilities, and pure adrenaline when things go crazy. It's the feeling I had at 10 watching shonen on toonami, and I absolutely adore it.

Man, i know people were talking shit about it not being turned based, but this looks insanely cool

​@@Pughhead Hence why its a contender and not goty yet. Same with zelda, those are atm the 2 big games that if they do well can with GOTY. A lot goes into winning GOTY, marketing and hype being a big part, zelda and ff16 have that right now, no other announced game does atm.

I too enjoy playing the FFXVI:state of play

I need to get one anyway, but I think this game is going to be like the reason to pick up a ps5. Finally. I know it’ll come to PC eventually but when I do end up getting a PS5, this is going to be the game I get with it.

@@wizzenberry made absolutely no sense, but OK. The reason I haven’t gotten one yet is because they were incredibly difficult to find. Now I’m starting to see them around, but there were unexpected expenses that came up that kind of take priority. At this point I may just wait for the redesign.

There's also a decent chance the pc port is going to be terrible for at least a few months, as is the case usually these days.

@@javierlopez5490 yeah. It’s like we’re going back to 2014 with all of these botched PC parts. That in my PC is getting up there in years. I’m going to upgrade it soon but it would just be easier to do PS5 and be done with it for now.

@@oc1208 I heard they’re streamlining the production. Not necessarily a slim but it’s like the disc drive is external? I don’t know what other stuff is going to change with it but I may just wait for that model. I would’ve loved they want edition but because I could never find the stupid thing and the botched pre-order deal, I’m SOL on that one.

If theres Roshi P, I have 100% sure that will be one of the best FF. People that think that this gonna be FFXV failure, will lose they heads when the game release and see the reviews.

I tought they will make collab to 14 if 16 goes wild, and i interested to protagonist sword and range (pistol / mini crossbow?) i hope that will be next DPS range on ff14

Seeing his jaw drop during the icon fight showcase was exactly the same reaction as mine. I don't have a PS5 yet, but I'm very tempted to get one for this game

I do have a PS5 and as much as Asmon likes to shit on console gaming there are plenty of reasons to get one. The controller is the best controller I’ve ever used and there are already plenty of really solid titles to play without including what’s upcoming. I should also add the fact that you get 4K, 60fps, with lightning fast load times for between $500-$600 is an insane deal. And you can play 90% of the games that would release on PC plus exclusives. Spider-Man 2 and FFXVI are gonna make this year amazing. Plus whatever else is on the horizon. Well worth the price.

@@ItsHorizonz Oh crap I forgot Spider Man 2 comes out this year as well! Honestly, the only reason I didn't get one yet was because my PS4 has been serving me just fine and I can still play games like GOW Ragnarok on it. But it's looking like I'll have to upgrade this year maybe.

@@aaronclay4665 i mean u shouldnt have to buy a ps5 in the first 2 years after release cuz of how hard to get and overpiced they were + ot many games yet but now it really becomes a great deal.

My biggest worry is it will just be ff15 again. Beautiful, Great boss music and what could have been lots of LFG moments until you realize it's just press x the whole game.

they got DMC5 (among many others) lead combat designer to do this one, so I have faith it won't be a steaming pile of crap like FF15's combat.

@@blacklist4502 you hate nomura for? yoshi-p will end up the exact same way due to squares higher ups, you think yoshi being made to work on 2 projects is the only time he will? and not even more than 2? same shit happened to nomura, they stack more and more projects on their talent to bleed them dry.

Its the Nomura character design you're thinking of. FF16 doesn't have Nomura as the character designer this time. Its iconic but at the same time I think its a bit too much so at times. In FF7R, the main cast stuck out like a sore thumb next to the NPCs since their designs were striking yet the NPCs looked super generic. At least in FF16, the NPCs and main cast seem consistent with each other.
