BIG Mistakes NEW YouTubers STILL MAKE!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I reviewed over 100 new or small KZread channels, and I can confidently say there are 4 reasons why most of you aren’t getting views, so New KZreadrs please stop doing these things in 2023, if you want to grow!

How To Increase Click-Through Rate For New KZreadrs
Look, it comes across as a bit intense but it’s really important that new KZreadrs hear that… You do not matter.
The sooner you understand how little you matter, the sooner you can actually start growing your channel… which is ironic because to be a KZreadr you need to be narcissistic enough to believe you’re worth watching
Let me explain… when your thumbnail and title appear on the homepage…. How many people actually recognize your face that you plastered in the thumbnail? Why would someone click on your vlog trip to the beach? Or episode 69 of your five nights at Freddie's playthrough?
So one of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to separate your own personality and understanding of the content, and then instead put yourself in the shoes of someone who has no idea who you are, what your content is about, or anything.
🕘Timestamps:
0:00 Why your KZread Intros are ruining your retention
2:20 Why your KZread Videos NEED stakes
3:21 Why your KZread Video Ideas Are Boring
4:38 Why your KZread videos are forgettable

How To Grow Your KZread Subs With Community Polls
A major secret when it comes to appealing to the masses, and beginning to grow the audience your content goes out to is actually the Community Posts tool on KZread… specifically I am in love with the Community Poll tools.
I’ve been using Community Polls here on SSN for over 2.5 years now, I post polls to understand you, your interests, troubles, and it often helps me make content more targeted to your interests…
But it also builds huge impressions on the channel, and after snowballing years of polls back to back, you can go from getting 100 votes, 200 votes, all the way up to 6000 votes per poll… now before anyone says anything, you can scroll back I was using community polls BEFORE Spiffing Brit released his video on how broken and overpowered they are.
Once you have all those votes consistently, you can start adding in your videos that match the Poll topic to boost their views, because a lot of these polls don’t just go to subscribers but also non-subscribers who are interested in the topics the polls cover.
The style of this video is similar to Alpha Gaming and VidIQ in parts. A large influence on this series has come from content creators like Filmbooth and Nutty.

It can definitely feel overwhelming to try and come up with something brand new that no one’s EVER done before, so I loved the mention of “if you just made someone smile or breathe out of their nose a little harder”. That’s the small goal I aim for at the moment since I work a a lot and it’s hard to find time to get crazy with ideas or edits. For now, I just want to make people smile or laugh the way the creators I watch do for me! 😊

True story sitting there and analysing the videos and your respective benchmarks. I took a day, did the same with my thumbnails, did the same thing a few months ago on another review channel; was pretty great, helped me with construction and flow.

I try my best to stand out with my commentary and the different intro styles I do for engagement. But I'm still struggling, however I still feel I'm new to this YT thing. My thumbnails are really the only thing going for me well. Have had LOTS of compliments on them. I work two full time jobs so it's difficult to do more than let's plays with hopefully entertaining commentary.

Sorry, I'm not getting it. I mean, congrats on the kid and all, but what's the advice here? Come up with some weird gimmick in order to get attention? So if someone just wants to show off a game they like they need to do it while... what, hopping on one foot or doing some kind of a challenge? That's pretty discouraging, tbh.

  • @StreamScheme

    @StreamScheme

I'll simplify the advice for you :) Feels like you're only focusing on one part, and actively trying to take it incorrectly. 1. You need to keep your intros short, engaging, and get right to the point. The first 30 seconds is crucial for retention. 2. Your video needs progression, an end goal, or series of goals, that make a user feel like its going somewhere, or else why bother watching. 3. You need to make something unique to stand out, everyone and anyone can make videos now, what can you do differently? What is your unique skill? Challenges are the easiest example for beginners to understand, but aren't required. Many people found ways to show off games they like in engaging, unique packages without challenges. Look at Elden Ring or Skyrim Lore videos, they find unique interesting cool parts of those games and package, edit, and tell those stories in engaging ways. 4. Make your viewers feel something, try to add your personality into your videos, add jokes that resonate with you, tell stories, be engaging, because if you can make a person smile, or connect with the video, they'll return. I appreciate sometimes its tricky, but saying, "whats the advice here" and focusing on one part of the video feels strange. Good luck out there! A few tips for your channel specifically: 1. Lets plays don't work anymore, especially episodic. 2. I'd recommend trying to make actual thumbnails and titles, right now, you don't have anything clickable or engaging on the channel. 3. And really, you need to actually edit, and do all four of the tips from this video, because your intros are non-existant, there seems to be no established progression, the ideas seem fairly straight-forward, and right now the content feels unengaged. I'd recommend being less critically of this video, and more critical of your own, if you work hard you can improve! :) Again, good luck, hope it helps!
