What are your tips for choosing and using avocados?

Store them in the frig with the skin on when they feel slightly soft . They will last beautifully for a few days. Perfectly green and tasty upon pealing

I apply a thin layer of olive oil over the half of unserved avocado and store it in an airlocks jar. It stays fresh and keeps its green color up to 3 days in the fridge.

Never a good reason to let an avocado spoil. If one has extras, cut them in chunks and store in the freezer. Put the frozen chunks in your shakes / smoothies. Take the pits, peel them, slice into chips, place in oven / toaster oven, toast until dry, cool, then grind into a powder. Use powder in smoothies / shakes for an increased nutritional boost.

What does the market do with ripe avocados

I've never really considered my avocado mistakes. I guess now I'm going to have to completely reevaluate every decision whether it was small or large that I've ever made throughout my entire life. I mean really - how could I even start to consider myself as a citizen of the world, a kind thoughtful caring individual until I have sorted out my avocado 'issues'? And I'm so thankful to y'all for pointing out my acid problem. It's been a thorn in my side even though I learned about PH in school.

Also the avocados last longer if you put them in the refrigerator right when you bought them

@@baumullerm Mexico, the Basha Store chain has a store, Food City that caters to Latino's, they put them on sale, lost leader, sometimes @ 5 -$1.00, this week it's all week at 4, they are the smalls, ( sorted at the packing houses) but the winner is very small seeds, great deal. The best are the large Hawaii ones, so buttery, I've picked one was over 4 lbs. Yumm

Large Avocados $0.77 and $0.49 for small ones.

Has anyone made it into a smoothie with peanuts,honey and mango or a Chocolate and Avocado Torte.

I paid $0.45, for a good size Avocado!

$0.89 right now. They were $1.50 a few months ago.

Disgusting, they are horrendous on the environment no to mention having to put up with all the apparent healthy Fannie’s who know nothing about the food they eat

Kindly consider packaging avocados for export to countries that do not grow them.
