I think it’s called a metallic head voice. Someone correct me if I’m off. I always like that way if singing if the person is a good singer. Especially sounds good when it is song lower. IMHO.

I love listening to them sang!! They had so many appearances for their most recent comeback and that makes me so happy. We need to end the ageism in Korean music!

I know what you mean, but Korean society values age and experience highly. There are lots of highly respected musical artists who are older in Korea. It's just the Idol world that is biased towards the very young, for a variety of reasons. This group debuted under YG Entertainment, but they aren't Idols. In some ways, they are just hitting their stride in their musical careers. I hope more westerners get to see this side of Korean entertainment. There's more older Korean artists to discover.
