That is an interesting version of the song. Not quite like anything I've heard before (& I've heard many versions). I like the Metis' (Canadian) version best. Nice job .

Note to students: try not to let your fourth finger go flat the way his does. It is better to maintain an arch, like the rest of the fingers. Note to those upset about my note: Ian Walsh is a terrific fiddler and instructor. I intend no disrespect toward him, or his talent. Very talented players can have idiosyncrasies but still play brilliantly. However, it is still best for students to aim for the best technique possible.

This tutorial also gives me headaches because he keeps changing the bowing, while the Bowing is the most difficult part for most adult beginners.....Do you have a suggestion on bow pattern for the A part of this tune?

It’s interesting that in the earlier clips he didn’t have a flat forth finger but somehow he developed this habit over time...
