The only thing I've broken (twice from poor landings)on my Maximus was the top of the rear diff where the shock tower bolts on. Kind of an expensive factory upgrade to factory aluminum diff case($100). I did put in thicker oil in the center diff. Over all, a good rc.

Did you need to upgrade anything to make it run on 6s?

I own the DHK Zombie (lil brother of the maximus) and it's been great. Surprisingly, I haven't broken anything on it yet.

DHK is what I got the bulk head screws needs just some attention otherwise that is what I like.

I have this car and it handles really well! It's actually unbelievable! The only weak spot I've found is the front steering arms.

This looks very similar to the DZ Racing Pirate 2. We're on the hunt for some parts as it broke last bash session.

This was my first rc. I put the blx 185 ESC in it and ran mine on 6s

wow new Rc Car. I also Love The Orange metal chassis! so so so nice

I bought my maximus 2 years ago and it's still runs like a champion. Sadly that beautiful looking body is trash, breaks on first big air crash. All you need to do is replace rear diff housing with aluminum one, add an extra shock tower to the back diff and the truck is bullet proof after that. . A++ truck.. Also it was only 285 to my door step 2 years ago big thumbs up for that :>)

you need to get an x-01 and take it to the skatepark and jump it 100ft. in the air

Hey Kev the screws like to come out of the steering link and other areas so you might want to loctite everything besides that is a good truck

Hey kev could you build a high speed tracked basher out of your tank? I would say remove everything you dont need like turret and armour and then put the ripper motors in! That would be too cool!

My optimus xl does wheelies, and once did a standing back flip, had the updated 2030kv Blue motor, more power and better then the one in this truck.

Kev love the videos, have you checked out the Force RC's from Horizon? The Muckraker and Epidemic are both 1/8 scale and are a great value it seems.

is the spur gear metal or plastic?

Would it be possible for you to test the Arrma Granite 4x4 BLX or maybe the Arrma Big Rock 4x4 blx vs the Traxxas rustler 4x4 VXL maybe?

I've been wanting to switch mine to 6s. Not sure if the drivetrain would hold though.

I was thinking to get the dhk hobby maximus too. To see if you can run this thing on 6s.

When you take it to the sake park you will have on problem breaking the maximus, but it does look good but I would upgrade the servo

I had 1 last year for a little while. It was cool until it started going through diffs and steering servos. The diffs are a pain to get to, TONS of screws to take out! I went through 4 steering servos, 2 stock ones and 2 aftermarket ones. Never figured out why, just sold it.

would you recommend this or the jlb cheetah extreme?? I'm in the market for a 1/10th or 1/8th car. 3s and 4s capable. and would like something FAST and strong with good battery life.

If someone can break it that will be Kev no doubt about it, looking forward to that for sure.

Good car, I've got the optimus xl that's been converted over, only problem is the center diff. On hard pavement it eats the diff up from wheelies and torque.

Yeah I haven't seen any either. I got my truck and have had nothing but problems and I baby that thing. It was in the shop every month i haven't used it for a while I'm over it.

The esc is weak on this truck as well. Needs upgraded won't last long, but For The price you can't beat it. My 80amp esc that is found in the maximus just went out two weeks ago, have no clue how it did. Battery was unplugged worked great before turning it off and bringing it inside. Water Must have got into the esc outlet and short circuited. But all in all good car, lots of power and torque. Easy to control when it's in air, loves back flips and wheelies!

And let me say, with bigger tires on my optimus xl, it balloons the tires easily, almost like discs. Much more baloonage then this car. Would like to see him review the dhk zombie 8e, or the dhk wolf.

have you tried redcat shredder? 1/6th scale brushless truck.

Is there any reason why mine is so slow? I just got this truck and it won't go faster than max throttle trim.. I've calibrated the ESC but it's still so slow. Got the 4S battery setup with batteries fully charged. Don't know where I'm going wrong..
