    I remember that day when Diamond was hanging on the back screen and refusing food... I wondered . Glad that this was just the passing of early slugs... but it shows she is maturing and it was good to see her eat! The idea of an elevated nesting box sounds interesting as well as a structural challenge. And, Lulu will make a great gift for Tyler and we know he is a fully qualified keeper (and daddy to Shrek ).

    Their eyes and head movement really reminds me of birds. You can tell they have a very similar situational awareness and understanding of their surroundings as Corvids do. Lending more credence to my assertion that Crocodile Monitors are much more like tree-climbing velociraptors than lizards. Combined with their bullwhip of a tail, that actually makes them more terrifying to me than a Velociraptor would be 😬 Really cool, but REALLY scary 😂

Yes they are like living dinosaurs. They are getting to know you better. Lulu was calm, and Chase does not mind you talking around him, and getting close to him. That is a great accomplishment Slinky is like Dad I am over hete, pay some attention to me. I am glad that Diamond passed those slugs. ❤All of your reptiles, and your channel. Cindy

    Chase has become so relaxed around you, I feel like eventually you could get to a point where you can interact with him like you do with Slinky, although I can completely understand why you'd take things slower and be more hesitant to trust him with the damage a croc monitor is capable of doing should you make a mistake. Something I've noticed with reptiles of all species, and especially monitors, is that males tend to chill out a lot faster and are easier to bond with, even with the 2 tortoises I own my male is super friendly, never flinches and will even follow me around and try to see what I'm up to, while with the female I have to be very slow and gentle and generally she just wants to be left alone even though she's much larger than the male, so I can't even say it's because males tend to get larger and feel less threatened, but maybe that is partly the case with monitors? Just an interesting thing I often think about.

    Even if they trust you a little bit you don’t wanna carry them in your arms because one little moment of stress for them can ruin months of training. If you ever wanna move them, all you have to do is put a box inside their cage for a few days before you need to move them and then you wait until they’re inside the box and then you just move the whole box. This is a huge mistake that everybody makes with alligators too. Although I don’t think alligators would necessarily go inside of the box the way that lizards do it can still work for them.

    Wow... These crocs are tolerating Kenan now! 180-degree change in attitude. I mean, I STILL trust Slinky more than them, but it's nice to see they view Kenan as the "Gift Man" and that they no longer constantly hiss at him. Come to think of it -- isn't Inky the one who still does the most damage to Kenan? Good-looking animals -- from a distance!

    I was wondering, does every type of monitor need a big water pool? And might an idea, for the monitors that loves to swim. Half of the cage is water pool or creek (sort of) and half land. Might with part of trees, hanging over it and/or a platform above the water. Where they just can relax. Was just an idea in my head, might you like it 😅😉

  • @Polosatiy_Varan

    @Polosatiy_Varan

    You need a big pool for those monitor lizards that spend a lot of time in the water. This is primarily the Asian water, Mertens' water, Crocs and Nile monitors. However all monitors perfectly swim and dive and easily enter the water.

No more, thank you - hurts like hell and they will let go when they want to and only then. If you want to know what it feels like take a standard pair of pliers and crush a fingertip with it, not quite breaking the bone. L.A. Alli looks slow, moves super-speed.
