BIG CRASH on my New Shoulder! Not Good...

Спорт

Well, my worst fear came true on my first day back on the bike...What better way to break in a new shoulder than to lawn-dart straight on it, am i right??

    Looking good for taking a break man. I’m sure it’s gonna be tough trying to rebuild all that momentum you had prior to surgery, but don’t give up. You got fans here who always enjoy watching your rides, and you’ve got a supportive family and team by the looks of it. Keep pushin as hard as you can and be safe out there man. You’re still hauling ass

    Broke my femur and collar bone around the same time, but miraculously I was riding again only 6 weeks after. But getting the first proper crash in afterwards is a necessary confidence builder, assuming everything stays together.

    This might be a dumb question. How do you learn to trust everything will be okay as you learn to lean the bike over further and further in corners? Like a deep sand turn, I know I can throw it in there. But as I lean it over, I'm hesitant. How do you fight through that? Soo glad you're back!

  • @JeffWalker84

    @JeffWalker84

    Sometimes I pick a low-risk corner and tell myself “I’m going to keep hitting this faster and faster until I crash”. Most of the time you end up hitting it at a speed you didn’t even know you had in you and you didn’t even come close to crashing. You’re capable of a lot more than you know, it’s just a matter of how much you want to risk

For an Australian its $190 in australian dollars and my mum wont let me get it for that price😅. And i really want that jumper because it looks fire 🔥🔥. So ifs there is a way to lower the price it would be much appreciated 🙏🙏, if not then thats no drama either. Hope you have a good Christmas holiday🤙🤙

    13:43 to get to the crash. You were too far forward in the sand, (stood up too far forward for sand). One little mistake with low elbows, and you could not stop yourself from going too far forward from that bobble. My ribs are almost healed too, same kind of wash out exiting a easy sand corner. Made me feel like a beginner again. 60 years old.

    no, you can see in the go pro, he was sitting down leaning back a bit. I don’t think he was too far forward, but from what im seeing, I think his suspension compressed on the bump then just shot him over the bars sort of.

    Nahhh, small landing bump, rounded top, softer ground and a decent compression setting. That was pretty easy. Heck, I saw Kelly Smith case Laracco's Leap at Red Bud on a bit KTM 5xxcc 4-stroke, (he missed a gear up the ramp). That was big, a clay landing (pretty round at the top), and he landed hard. The suspension and Kelly soaked it up well. Did not crash or get hurt, but broke the motor mounts letting the engine tilt backwards in the frame, pulling the carb boot from the back of the carb.

    In the 2-stroke days, (with lower handle bars for better cornering and more ease of keeping your elbows up), we used to re-grip the throttle grip as we exited corners, much like re-gripping a door knob to turn it to open the door. They don't re-grip anymore and run their handle bars like a freestyle set up,---and all of their elbows drop when exiting a corner. They are lucky the tracks are pretty smooth today, but this easy sand corner bit him here. Stood up too far forward to, as if he is on hard pack, IMO.

    @@EarthSurferUSA Yeah I couldn’t agree more with your point and it makes sense there’s all sort sorts of ways to reduce the amount of times a rider drops there elbows such has handle bars, regripping, how you grip the the bars, and posture I know with him being taller he’s more prone to do it but it just doesn’t make sense to keep doing especially when you know that the the whole body will shift into the direction the elbow gets dropped hopefully within the next months he focuses on this and betters his technique not trying to be a critic or know it all I just want him to get good result and as a Spector it’s something that’s worth noting
