Hello Sir, I'm about to start my GMAT preparation in April, but I'm quite worried about the change. Would taking a 6-month plan and studying the entire GMAT in the current format be beneficial? What if they changed the whole SC and DS section? Where should I go from here? Is it better to keep studying with this current format until I have time to switch to the updated FOCUS edition of Focus?

Hi, If you're planning to give your GMAT by end of this year, you can stick to the old format itself. If you intend on taking the GMAT next year, then going with the Focus Edition would be a much better idea. Yes, it is a good idea to stick to the old format for the time being.

this May, 2023 and I live in West Bengal, in India. Whether I can use my Aadhaar Card as a prof of identification during my test, take home based edition?

The aadhaar is still valid as a proof of identification for the online test, yes. The aadhaar will continue to be accepted for at least the initial period after the Focus Edition is introduced. We will keep you posted on the channel if anything changes.

bro if we prepare quant for CAT, can I directly write quant for GMAT or should I prepare separately? If so what's the difference?

Your CAT quant will keep you in good stead for the GMAT Focus edition. However, you have to work on DS that is a part of the Data Insights section.

Sir should i prepare for the older version if im writing my exam in December? Are there any benifits with taking classic GMAT over the focus edition?

If Sentence Correction / Geometry are your strong points and IR is something that you have not invested too much time or effort till now, the classic version will be a good bet. If your answer to all 3 parts of the above question is no, you should go with the Focus edition

sir ,i have been preparing for gmat for 2 years and what if o dont get by early next year sir ... i have never prepared for ir i old gmat

Hi, You can opt for the old test pattern till early next year.

Data insights will be same as IR (not considered in 800 marks)?

Hi Vikrant, There is no official announcement regarding this from the GMAC yet. 🙂

So if I decide to take the exam in July, according to which pattern should I prepare?. Please let me know.

July should be old format. You will definitely get to access old format into early next year, so…

In Jan 2024 both versions of the GMAT will be available. You can take the old classic version. GMAC has mentioned that the test will be available for a certain period in Quarter 1 of 2024. So, the sooner you take the better it is - if you are opting for the classic version

Yes. By August you will not be able to take the GMAT Focus edition. It will be available only in October. Please stick to the older version. Best wishes for your GMAT.

GMAT also should consider non English speakers fairness with natives and reduce the verbal reasoning wightage on the final result 200-800
