Love his equipment too everyone should definitely buy it. Yes it is pricey but he knows exactly what he is doing. Y’all need to get on his tree stands and and hunt from them the best part is the super ultra light climbing sticks they are fricken awesome

Beast looking good man!! You have lost a lot of weight during this season! Thank you so much for your content! I’ve been hunting hard for about 13 years of so. I’ve killed bucks. I live in northwest Florida and hunt here. I thought it was just the area (small bucks). But I was getting burned out with small bucks. So I started watching you and hunting public about 5 years ago and said what the hell can’t hurt to try y’all’s ways. Man you are so true. Now my buddy’s and the wardens wonder my secrets. I want to thank you! I’m in my 30s teaching old men what I’ve learn from you! Sincerely happy public land hunter!

I’ve been hunting a 140 class buck for the past 3 seasons and it has taken me this long to narrow down exactly where he is traveling from cell cam photos and miles and miles of scouting on a pretty big property. It’s really tough to get in his bedding area regardless of the wind. With that being said morning hunts are my best bet if I can beat him to his area. I’ve only had one encounter with this buck he is about to drive me crazy. I could’ve killed him the first encounter if I had a rifle with me he was at 60 yards in thick cover but I want that popenyoung. Keep teaching big Dan and I’ll keep learning.

I second everything Dan said in this video. I know lots of guys who get down on themselves while trying year after year to kill big bucks. Truth is they dont have the Drive, passion, scouting, time and work ethic it takes to kill big bucks and yes it gets easier with experience and an area with good bucks is important. I get it done almost every year but i eat, breath and dream about mature whitetails 365. My scouting never ends.

Gumleafs are great boots! I've had mine since August 2020 and have put them thru hell scouting and hunting and they are still a great boot. I have worn them so much my back heel started to wear thru the neoprene inside the boot and it eventually cracked the seam at the back of my boot. Nothing shoe goo can't fix. They are my best rubber boots I've ever bought and I would recommend them

I've spent a lot of time in the stand & scouting since I started in 2018. My first deer, a doe I got on Xmas eve 2020 dressed out at 148 & my first buck was taken on Thanksgiving morning. He dressed out at 184. Both were taken in or around swamps. Took me 4 years to get a buck here in MA & had multiple encounters & missed opportunities too. Couldn't have done it without Beast tactics in mind! Thanks Dan 👊

I gotta agree Dan! The buck in my picture was the first time there. Last year I had 5 encounters/opportunities with bucks in the 120-150" range, and all but one of those was a first time hunting that spot, the 150 class was a second sit the very next morning but I had killed a smaller buck the day before and was looking for a doe. I killed two other bucks in two other states that were first time sits as well!

I think all boots are made in China in one manner or another. But I've never been scared of sticker shock if it's a legit product and I think we all should now more than ever start buying American products. There's so much knowledge and wisdom in these videos that most of the time I have to watch them again just to make sure I heard everything on them. Dan you are a very generous man in that you have no problem sharing your knowledge that I think some are born with naturally. Some say it's luck but I'm pretty sure if it was luck then you'd play the lottery a bit more. Laughing..... That first part of the video had a very familiar voice in it and I thought that was pretty cool hearing him again. Be safe out there fellas.

They go to the same tree or house blind year after year after year. They get all mad at me for telling them to move on or come back another year when crops are better, because thats "their spot" or land in their family, so "they have to hunt it".

I certainly had my struggles, but I had a good wife who stuck with me even when I was obsessed and short of perfect. My biggest regrets are not spending more time with my kids, hunting thru holidays, birthdays, Halloween, etc.

You gotta have time, and a good wife too. My best time was late 80's and 90's. Going to be 57. Married 2nd time. Knees aren't what they used to be. Still killing nice bucks. No giants.

Curious question. I have a question about your thoughts on the over all availability of true massive public land giants now vs 30-50 years ago. Do you feel there are less true giants now than there used to be in your area. I see your pics and obviously from the photos it would appear you killed was more massive bucks in your youth. I realize part of that could be your youth and how far you could push yourself and how much time you had available. But my thoughts are that there are probably a lot fewer giants now than in 70s and 80s. I have hunted low fence private Texas land. 99% of Texas hunting unfortunately is private land. On your average piece of property your going to pay 2-3 times what you would in the 80s to shoot smaller deer. Now if you want to hunt lower pressure land with good genetics and less pressure from neighbors the price is out of reach for a normal guy. My hunting over the last few years has been reduced by health. I thought maybe I’d try a guided hunt. So I messaged a guide. His response was how big a buck do you want. Well I’m hunting for a mature buck preferably at least 145. His response was like if you want a 145 inch buck, I’ll put you on one for 4500. I’m just not at a point in life where that’s hunting. I hope I never get that bad.

Thats a good question and one that comes up every now and then... I would say there are more big bucks on public now, but the bucks are smarter and the hunters on public are smarter making it harder to kill them. However, there were more big bucks in Wisconsin during the mid to late 90s but when the Wisconsin DNR trid to eradicate southern Wisconsins whitetail heard it made a huge impact on our population and it has never rebounded. Also, in the old days we did not have doe season during prime bow season, and we did not have a 10 day holiday doe hunt, etc... deer are under a lot more pressure.
