Big Bridge Snook Testing Out My Custom Rod

Спорт

I hooked two big Snook in about three hours while bridge fishing with my new custom made rod. The one I landed hit a Spooltek and the other giant I hooked up with thumped a green jig. This was an awesome three hours of fishing from one of my favorite bridges.

  • @RadReelingFishing

    @RadReelingFishing

    4 жыл бұрын

    That's an interesting question for sure. As long as the water is moving I feel confident I might get a hit when I'm Snook fishing. One thing I have noticed with three Snook I've caught over 40" at night near bridges is that they hit when the tide was just starting or just about to end. Those big Snook were all caught on live bait, either pinfish or shrimp. Every location is different when it comes the movement of the tide depending upon the landscape and structure. When I jig fish I like to have fast moving current.

    @@brooktrout1477 *Hey there... Snook love crabs but big Snook have a very tough mouth with a very tough abrasive rasp file like front ridge to their jaws... so having hooks big enough and strong enough to get a good corner hook set without them getting a deep gill hook-up and damage... would in my mind... not be ideal with using the the Cranka-Crab's small treble hook lure... A nice three inch live Blue Crab under a black balloon bobber at night around the shadow line is a great bait and I've caught many Snook with that rig...* Hope that made sense Buddy ..gw

    JFC man! NEVER put a rod with a decent fish on up against ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY a bridge railing! The rod is supposed to be able to bend throughout most of its length. What you did there was create a fulcrum point: I’m shocked that rod didn’t snap like a firecracker.

    Thanks for the tip. Who knows maybe when I hook a giant fish on it it will snap right there now. I sure hope not.

    The fish are too big and there's too much structure. It's at night and also it's a reaction strike.

    Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't agree with you. The fish actually slipped out of my hand. Have you ever had that happen? Did you see the fish swim off strong? Well if you didn't see my friend, the fish was fine. It always amazes me how fishermen make comments and act like they've never dropped a fish. I've seen the very best of the best fishermen drop Snook from four feet in the air on to concrete and many others accidentally mishandle fish. I didn't mishandle that Snook in any way. I appreciate your input on this channel, but can hardly imagine that you are without doing the same at times.
