Big Bredli Unboxing - Long Overdue!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This week for Serpentes Sunday we are flashing back two years to when Sunspear, Xahea, and Boreth arrived from Ralph Polinski. This unboxing ties into the Serpentes Sunday episode about quarantine I did two weeks ago. This unboxing in my cargo van shows the process I mentioned in that video. You will of course also get to see how the snakes look today (6/27/2021). All are doing well and I love them!

Wow how we change in a few years and they are thtee beautiful Bredl's pythons. As you know have only the one and she makes up for three of them LOL, they sure can be big snakes these guys. Or the potential to be big unexpectedly though.

Every time a video with carpets comes up I fall in love with the species all over again. Especially with the one immediately going for his own adventure the moment your back is turned.

Thays Interesting behavior! I do use no when the snakes go into off limits areas, I use my hands to redirect them or pick them up and move them and then always put them in an area they are allowed to be and have found reinforcing to explore in the past so they aren’t developing a completely negative associations with me. You can also teach a “no choice” cue or signal which means basically to the snake that something is about to happen and they can’t opt out but you’re giving them a heads up to let them know to avoid uncertainty or a startle response. It can be used you pick them up, get them out of hiding or out of their enclosure or away from a space you don’t want them in. I think by accident the snake hook becomes this signal for most which is ok as long as it is consistently used to mean that.

I can't watch myself in videos, but I guess you don't have that problem being on KZread and all, haha. I have only ever unboxed one snake, but it was so exciting, can't imagine three at one time!
