Big bear VS King Quad

Big Bear won. This time......Me and my neighbor went out for a 3 hour ride. I got stuck a couple of times and my neighbor had trouble with the carburetor on his bike making it loose power when he needed it most. Unfortunately I lost the trailer ball pin and it doesn’t look like there is a substitute! I have to go the round again and see if I can find it😁. Things to do on my bike: remove plow plate and replace with underbody protection. Lift the suspension a bit, it was to low in the Forrest and things the Big Bear cleared got me stuck. Add some foot protection, this will be a bit hard because I don’t want it to interfere with the brakes and gear shift. Perhaps a hand shift would be a good idea?

Both are great, but the king quad's 3 range transmission with its 5 speed gear box along with the 4wd differential lock makes it the best and the most versatile for pretty much anything

Yeah it is great until you want to do some work on it…my current Honda is not as capable but far easier to work on.

Looks like fun! I prefer the smaller machines for this type of riding. I wish Suzuki still made the 4wd 250s with low range and locking differential.

Yes they were both great and fun since you could get stuck in many places that the modern ones could power through. I replaced my Suzuki with a Honda Rancher and neighbor changed his BB to a brand new TGB 1000, totally different kind of beast!

I love the Suzukis. Do the diff lock mod to it and it makes it even better. That way you can lock the diff in all ranges instead of just super low. I am hoping to pick up a king quad 300 soon.

Hi, I believe I did that mod to it but I sold it a couple of years ago so don’t really remember. I did the start in any gear mod, that I do remember. Would like to get another King quad but they are mostly in pretty bad condition.

I felt like a child when I filmed it! Unfortunately we haven’t been out riding since this and Im probably selling the Suzuki today. Wife couldn’t handle the foot shifting so bought a Honda with electric shift instead. But I will probably buy another “mud” bike in the autumn or winter. Regards Nils

I've had both of these machines a few King Quad 300 in a few Big Bear 350s the KingQuad is an all-around better work Towing plowing and has the two wheel four wheel drive locking differential with the high low superlo option which is nice big bears and all around better Trail quad but has all good characteristics of the king quad I'm going to pick up another big bear tomorrow for two hundred bucks haven't had one in a while they're a little faster then the King Quad 300

I only had the KQ for a few months as I found my Honda and replaced it. The KQ had much better drive options and was more easy to steer but the Honda was in much better shape and had more comfortable suspension/seat. Still miss the KQ from time to time, would be great to find one in good shape. The Big Bear was my neighbors ATV, he had it for many years and plowed a lot of snow with it. It was super reliable but after a big snowstorm he worked it so hard the clutches gave up. Was a bit expensive to fix but he got it running again and sold it last year when the price of used ATVs was so crazy. He use a TGB1000 now and is happy with it. My sister in law has a Big Bear that I will service this spring. There will be a video about it eventually. Take care and good luck with that Big Bear you are getting. The price for a working Big Bear is about 2000 dollars here in Sweden…..
