Spirit has to learn that there's others out there who will try to take her food. Fight for your right to eat Spirit. Dad is teaching you a lesson little girl.

That was a GREAT lesson for Spirit. If you don't fight for it or hunt your own, you won't eat. And Shadow sassing Jackie's attempt to take some while Spirit watched was perfect too. "This is the real world, kiddo!" Shadow has been a stellar father.

While he shared a couple bites with Spirit, Shadow ate that whole big fish by himself! Spirit couldn't believe he didn't leave her anything! Guess dad has gotta eat sometime!

Awesome. He showed her not only you have to defend your food but most importantly once she’s on her own she has to Consume here food Right away, she is used to just grabbing, clamoring over and picking at the Food with no urgency once so ever, Shadow on the other hand grabbed the Fish and Chowed immediately wasting no Precious time.. Incredible Parents she has.

Shadow lays down the Law. She got the message and behaved like a nice little eagle at the end, and got some bits.

Being aggressive is what will make Spirit a survivor - - so there is not only something inbred in her, but she's also learning well !!!

I wish we were able to watch the next lesson to see if Spirit reacts differently and actually fights for her stolen food. Shadow is a such a great teacher, provider, dad & mate 👍💕

What a great landing by Shadow! Jackie leans slightly to the side and *bam* pin point landing.

Knowing what he was doing, it was funnier the second time I watched it! 😂♥️

Looked like Jackie contemplated taking it. Spirit didn’t try to fight to take it back. Only draw back to being an only eaglet. Don’t learn to fight for food.

Well, now that was a twist I never would have expected to see. But I can sure see the life lesson in it. After snapping at her Jackie said I'm not in it and left, lol.

I have seen this at another nest involving a single eaglet. It is probably one of the most important lessons they will learn in order to survive. This could not have played out better if they tried. Having Jackie try to steal it from Shadow was crucial to teaching Spirit what can happen. We will have to wait until they bring Spirit food next time if the lesson had worked. Life is not easy for them so they need to learn quick if they are going to have any chance at surviving. Thanx Cali.

BRAVO S&J 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾…. Jackie is normally the aggressor and defender of all the food the reaches the nest, but Shadow just showed Spirit how fierce she would have to be to survive w/o them. Other eagles or predators will do exactly what Spirit did (minus the small offering and patient demeanor). It’s a possibility that even J&S may have to chase her away from the nest one day. I hope Spirit got it.

😂😂... Jackie had to step up and referee and tell Spirit to behave 😂... Especially since Spirit tries to steal every single fish brought to the nest..... i'm glad shadow nipped back at Jackie.... Shadow does all of the hard work and then both Jackie and Spirit try to steal the dinner ....he's had enough he needs to feed himself , he needs to stay strong and healthy in order to support the nest and his family ❤️.... see, he's such a good daddy he was feeding his baby girl....

After this lesson, Spirit's going to be even more spirited.

I think Dad gets hungry too and even when he provides he still gets kicked out of the nest usually. So today, I'm glad he got what he needed first and then fed Spirit. Even Jackie left him alone. He meant business.

Shadow teaching Spirit that she will have to sometimes fight to keep her food. It looked like Jackie tried to eat some fish but Shadow was determined to eat the whole fish. Lol

They were certainly trying to teach her to survive! They looked at each other J & S as if to say try Spirit, if they weren’t Jackie would have raised the entire tree roof off of the penthouse! It was a teaching lesson for her to live and thrive in the world ahead, what loving excellent parents Spirit has! I love this Eagle family so much❤️

If he was hungry, he would’ve brought this fish to the nest, he would’ve eaten it on the shore. There must be a life lesson involved. And we can see spirit is very eager to learn…

I very much agree. Shadow can eat a fish anytime he wants to off the nest without being bothered. He did that on purpose and told Jackie not to intervene with what he was doing.

Good job Shadow. He’s probably thinking that no it’s my turn to eat. Spirit just stands there watching. I can’t believe that I didn’t get my way. Jackie is like wow Shadow never stands up to me lol 😂

I’m loving Spirit’s white feathers

Shadow has reclaimed what is his, even Jackie tried to step up and you can see both their reactions. I am so proud of him to stand up like that finally but I been so worried about him not eating being both have been stealing his catches lately. Plus this prepares Spirit for when she has to leave the nest, shes trying to lay claim but we all know the harsh reality is thats not going to happen.

I think both parents were in on it, nice lesson, good parents

These are some good parents who want Spirit to survive the real world when she leaves the nest.

2:58 "You disrespected your father, now go to your room and leave your smartphone on the counter!" Spirit in her room, throwing a tantrum 'I'm running away! You'll miss me when I'm gone'.

I think Shadow is trying to teach her that in the wild other Eagles won't be as forgiving and you have to fight for your food or it will get stolenfrom you. When she first took it he was happy, but then she just sat there and did nothing with it so he stole it back. If she was super hungry I doubt she would've allowed him to do that so easily. I think Jackie wanted to get it back for her but Shadow was like NO she needs to learn. Even he caved in the end and fed her some.

Now that spirit knows where the camera is at. She had to tell us that Daddy took the fish away.

Right about at 2:50, I can almost hear Jackie quietly telling Spirit, "Watch & learn, kid, watch & learn."

WOW, AT THE END SHE DOES. I KNOW SHADOW LOVES HIS DAUGHTER.

I remember when Shadow taught Simba this lesson. Simba put up a fight & Shadow & Simba had somewhat of a tug of war over a fish. I remember the chat & myself upset with Shadow, asking in the chat why he was being so mean to Simba. The wise, informative mods, explained to us the life lesson Shadow was teaching Simba. I’ve been wondering if & when Shadow would have this teaching day with Spirit. Heartwarming to see the instincts & love these beautiful birds have…way to go Shadow. Young Spirit is being taught by the best…Jackie & Shadow.

@@SunsetGazing exactly. I've had to tune away when most feeding takes place due to Spirit's over the top squealing even when no one is near her or what she's eating. It's like be quiet and eat for crying out loud. I think we are getting close to her fledging and the one good thing about her spunk is I know she will be a survivor out there once she does go on her journey.

Spirit is just like her mama! All food that comes into the nest, she considers hers, whether she is Hungary or not! She must not have been very hungary though and Shadow acts like he is starving!

Shadow was very hungry....thats how I feel...he always gives his fish to Jackie or Spirif
