WOW!!! I’ve never seen them fight like this before. Shadow must have been starving! I’m sure the whole neighborhood heard this argument! 😫 🐟 🦅 🦅 🤬 … 🤣🤣🤣

None of us ... not even the whole neighborhood are used to seeing Shadow be assertive & say NOT TONIGHT MY QUEEN!! The whole neighborhood was in an uproar after the love birds quarrel! They echoed with their yelping & whaling ... what we felt!! Saying .. HEY HEY YOU TWO ... no fighting up there!!! Kiss & make up!!

All those times Jackie pulled Shadow's fish from under him, I always felt bad as Shadow had to watch his meal get eaten by Jackie...now I kinda feel bad for Jackie as she watches lol

@@suzanne4991 Your theory is well within the realms of probability. Barring the aforementioned nesting season; they are very much on their own, especially when it comes to foraging for food.

So funny, shadow didn’t give in to her this time! They was both on their talons and beak to beak, with wings flapping. He meant he was eating his fish this time. She’s not incubating and can catch her own sometimes, he incubated too when she let him. It’s funny when she knows he has dinner and races him to the nest. These two are the best.

That seemed like a big shift in their relationship. Jackie's no longer incubating, at which time she'd always be given the fish, but now she's on her own, apparently. She can hunt just fine by herself so I'm not worried. I just don't like how it went down. Perhaps tomorrow she'll fly in and toss out all his sticks, ha ha ha!

This is the time they'd be bringing food for the babies, so if anything, I expected them to start getting fat as they now have lots of free time and only themselves to feed and no need to guard the nest all day.

Wow, that was something! I wonder if Shadow's ears are still ringing. Jackie wanted the whole world to know how mean Shadow was to her, not letting her have that fish. I think I would feel bad for her if I didn't think she would have taken the whole fish from him and not share, as she has done in the past. I was quite startled by the actual fight, with wing slaps and body bumps. That was pretty aggressive behavior. Are they roosting in separate places tonight? Thanks for sharing this catfish fight with us, Cali.

I love that idea, but think it’s shadow of recording equip.

It was good to see Shadow asserting himself after all he has been prioritizing his lady for months. Guess he's tired of fish heads. He still straightens up the home though.

Poor Jackie thought Shadow was going to make fish & chips for dinner, what a let down!!😢

This is the first time I witnessed Shadow not giving Jackie any of his food, and this is also the first time I witnessed them fighting

I love how she kind of sidles up to the fish and when Shadow still doesn’t give in she moves away to be pitiful. He's like, “Sorry, girlfriend! Not this time.”

It is nice to see Shadow stand up and hold his own,and not give in to Queen Jackie. He has been catering to her every need during this nesting season, when there aren’t any chicks Ms. Jackie is on her own 😂😂. J&S are so adorable, I just can’t get enough of these beauties❤. The ravens are all around, so the ones that are the greatest threat, are the ones that are likley inspiring some eschatological tension.The process and prepartion is more focused that ever. Shadow is maturing and showing character. All is well.

“Give me a baby and you get my prime fishes”

This last season was the first time I've ever watched any eagles and this couple just made my heart smile so much! Of course, then breaking after the ravens, the eaglet dying during hatching and the last egg not being viable. I had never seen any eagle couples outside of a hatching season and as thoughtful and accommodating as Shadow is to Jackie, I thought it was really scary to watch their fight over food. Thanks Cali Condor for helping us to know that this is regular behavior for the summer season. I really speciation ALL of your knowledge and your willingness to share!

Wow that was scary 😳I have never seen them have a squabble like that. I wonder if Jackie will throw out his sticks “ I’ll show you Mr.Stickman.” Shadow better bring a bouquet of fish 🐟 tomorrow.

Holy cow!!! Was this before Shadow learned some manners?? This looks nothing like the gentleman that I so enjoyed watching this season!! I've tried to watch other nests and I just can't get into them like these two. Maybe because they have so many human traits?? Anyway, thanks for sharing..., this was quite the eye opener!!

I think maybe the stress of loosing their babies is stressful. Normally they would be raising offspring together. Since they aren’t in family mode now, I think Shadow is trying to tell Jackie that it’s time for her to catch her own dinner. Hope they kiss and make up. 🥰

It's sad that the babies didn't make it. 😢 Had they lived, they would have been almost big enough to fledge by now.

After going through many health struggles this month, checking in on the nest and Shadow and Jackie brighten my days. Thank you Cali Condor for showing the highlights of their days.💖

That's a whopper of a catfish. This is also the first time I've seen Shadow not yield his catch to Jackie. And she is not happy about it. Wait a minute! Oh my goodness, the fight! I didn't think you meant actual wing slapping, and belly bumping!

Thanks for sharing this video Cali Condor! It is about time that Shadow doesn't give in to Jackie. He will be back sharing with her again in no time. The problem before was Shadow would bring a fish to the nest and Jackie would snatch it and not share any portion with Shadow. Maybe there is a lesson here :)

Just goes to show Shadow can be assertive when he wants to be. Usually he gives in but nesting season is over, it's every eagle for themselves, lol.

I was hoping that someone would capture that moment, while I was on the Live Stream to where right after, they calmed down, as where I was hoping is when I got curious to where I hovered the Mouse Arrow at the Timeline to see what happened earlier & the Preview I got is where it involved Jackie and/or Shadow making their Noise & as I got the Notification (As I’m subscribed to different Users, like Cali Condor here, Lady Hawk, etc. ‘cause of my obsession with the Bald Eagles recently…), Cali Condor here is who captured the moment. So, I thank him as well, as this gave a whole lot of us a chance to see this moment without missing out on it! 😀

Goooodness, I'm in shock!! Just never seen two mates get at each other like this! Love them both 💕

Wow that was pretty intense for a bit. Wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that he isn't providing for any eaglets so therefore he doesn't want to share because Jackie isn't nest ridden. I was totally shocked how he reacted but I was also proud of him for defending his prey. As this is all part of being an eagle.

Jackie has been very spoiled thus far. Shadow had had enough. Guess she picked the wrong day to get his 🐟fish. He must have been hungry enough to be selfish this one time. Jackie learned one lesson today. Shadow does stand his ground. They are no different then we are. When a wife takes advantage of her husband too much. He's bound to tell her off one day. Lol.

I wonder if he stole it from her while flying. She looks mad, plus you can hear her sound mad before she gets in camera range.

Maybe, as that can sometimes be the case to why you have this Catfish Fight here in the Video between both Jackie & Shadow. 🤔

I’m glad they didn’t hurt each other but equally glad to see Shadow win for a change.

While watching this I noticed my tendency to assign human emotions to this food fight between these two lovely creatures. They both were obviously hungry and I was thinking Jackie looked like she was purposely sucking in her crop and looking downright destitute while pleading to Shadow in a whine how hungry she was, telling him she was too weak to fish for herself. Meanwhile, Shadow was eating too fast and getting stomach ulcers.. It's so easy to attach our humanness to animals -- cartoons and kids' TV shows do it all the time. At the end of this wonderful video, satiated Shadow went back to arranging sticks while cleaning his beak, and I assume Jackie took off to catch a fish of her own. And I'd be willing to bet the entire 'argument' was forgotten just as quickly as it started. Thank you Cali Condor!

I was watching the Live Stream around that time for a moment, but it looked like that I was on where after the Catfish Fight, both Jackie & Shadow were just chilling & calming down. I got curious though to what happened earlier before the calming down part I was on in the Live Stream, as because I was on the PC at the time, when I hovered the Mouse Arrow to the Timeline, where I got a preview to what’s going on (Before if I were to click to take me to that part in the Live Stream, especially before it reaches the 12-Hour Mark, where that part automatically erases from the Live Stream due to the Live Stream 12-Hour Duration Limit…), as I saw that it like involved them buzzing the whole Big Bear Valley (Honking basically or however I call it for when they do their Calls like that…), I was hoping that someone would get that part especially for me to check it out & when I got the Notification from you (As I’m subscribed to you, as recently, I’m happening to be obsessed with the Bald Eagles & stuff…) you got the whole moment in there, which gives a whole lot of us a chance to check that moment out, especially to who missed out on it in the Live Stream. So, I would like to say thanks for capturing that moment for us to have a chance on checking out on! 😀 What especially gets me with the Bald Eagles is when they do their Calls, in when they honk (Or again however that’s called…) & when they do their Chirps, which to me that the chirping sounds really cute especially, even if they’re alerting to what’s going on, as even though the Bald Eagles are like Heroic & Cool-Looking Birds, they’re also cute as well. I mean, I do happen to like Birds, as I’ve liked the Birds, ever since I was a Kid, to let you know, especially if recently that I started getting obsessed with the Bald Eagles here. After some of the moments I’ve recently watched from you and/or any others that you guys have captured back in 2019 & last year (Even back in 2018 as well perhaps, etc.…) with Jackie & Shadow here at the Big Bear Valley Location in CA, as I can right now see in this New Video here, it’s nice that they’re still there now, as after all especially, this Nest here is home to Jackie & Shadow & hopefully they continue to live a really good & especially a healthy Life. 🙂
