Clay: travels to one of the most remote places in North America, travels 20miles away from the closest road on boat, sits in a makeshift blind on the ground and shoots a bear from 5 yards with a traditional bow and arrow. Some dude eating Cheetos in his moms basement: akshually that’s not real hunting, he used bait. Smdh

bait is bait. A true hunter goes into the wild alone (no cameraman/rifleman backup, guides, and equipment porters like this chump had), naked (except for lions cloth shorts), and harvests a bear with a spear. and its doritos not cheetos i'm enjoyin in my ROOMMATES basement (they just happen to be mom and dad).

I’m here because of your interview with Steve. Great episode of the podcast. Fantastic hunt. Whenever someone masters an art people only see what they think is easy because an expert makes it look simpler than it is. What they don’t realize is the years and years of dedication to an art that gets someone to a point where they could make something incredibly difficult look simple. A lifetime of training and dedication made those 15 minutes of footage. Congratulations.

If they would’ve been on the news the next day with there body’s carved into I would laugh. Cuz to each bears is there own. Would literally turn a blind eye if the bear started mauling them and I knew I could help. You took the chance & you know the risks. But don’t justify hunting for sport and meat unless it’s justified and have a license and it’s lawful and feels right. These POS go out and hunt bears for SPORT. Why is it that you say that a Bear who has shown that upon locating Humans, through scent, vision, hearing etc, a bear in feeding mode that decides humans aren't on the menu, at least on this occasion. Why would this bear be without debate - the more dangerous individual, moreso than for example, a bear who chooses, basically anything else? Taking a nibble etc?

MMA Fight! Magazine Ik this is late but, not everyone in the woods is going to be an experienced hunter, there will also be hikers that partake in this forest who may not know how to react to a bear walking right up to them, they may try to run which will make them seem like a prey target to a bear, or even if there’s children the bear would 100% see those as a prey target

  • @dilloncwwaters4442

MMA Fight! Magazine Never saw your comment but the reason I said that is the most dangerous kind of bear is because it knew that there was a human there and didn’t leave, it wasn’t scared of him at all and a bear that isn’t scared of interacting with humans is a dangerous bear. This is why they tell you not to feed bears or any other wild animals because the animal loses its fear of humans. I get what you’re saying when you say that an aggressive bear would be more dangerous but the point is that this kind of behavior is what leads to an aggressive bear because they aren’t scared of humans and are more willing to be in a situation with a human where they feel pressured and become aggressive.

@@BroScience710 A sucker punch - is a punch made without warning or while the recipient is distracted, allowing no time for preparation or defense on the part of the recipient. The term is generally used in situations where the way in which the punch has been delivered is considered unfair or unethical, and is done using deception or distraction, hence the term 'sucker' used to refer to the attacker.

BC hunter here. I fully grasp the gravity of this moment. Cant for the life of me understand the paradox of bowhunting with bait? A spot and stalk hunt is the pinnacle of hunting. Leads to some of the most amazing experiences you can have outdoors. Because of it leading to moments like this. Bowhunting which requires more skill than hunting with a rifle is like showing off. Tip of the cap to bow hunters , that is taking spot and stalk to the highest level. Bow hunting with a bait barrel is like completely missing the point. Definitely no shortage of bears in this area. Soldier on young fella but try bear hunting without the barrel its more fun.

Google "bear bluffing." Grizzly bears and even black bears do a thing called "bluffing" where they act passive and friendly right before attacking. If a grizzly bear comes anywhere near you during hunting or even camping, they will act friendly at first right before an attack. You need to either kill or it scare it off with bear pepper spray or loud yelling and posturing. Stop trying to rebuke those who have experienced things you will never encounter. If the man in this video didn't shoot, he would likely be dead right now.

The adrenaline and maybe even some fear that would be shooting through these guys as this unfolded would be unimaginable. Not taking a shot at the bear at that point would be VERY risky. If a bear was confident enough to get that close once, dont put it past him to quickly turn back around and charge this time should you decide to not shoot. All you would be thinking is how I wish I took the shot when I could have. Well done lads, ignore the dislikes, and congratulations on an amazing catch and experience.

If they just would let the bears alone, nobody would get hurt!
