BIG BASS small space! - Downfiring PORTED Subwoofer Box!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Adding a subwoofer to a vehicle doesn't mean you need to lose your whole trunk or cargo area. With a downfiring subwoofer box enclosure the subwoofer is protected, and with a proper design that includes a ported layout along with a powerful sub we can get great low bass output. Let's build a subwoofer box for this application!

Your shop is nothing short of amazing!! I love how you don’t have to double check the measurements on your table fence. Your attention to detail is outstanding in every aspect.
Love your videos - one tip from a woodworker learning about building sub boxes - When you used CA glue for the braces - one good tip is to use both CA glue and wood glue - you can use wood glue for most of the joint but leave a point on each end of the joint for CA glue. The CA glue acts as you wanted (quick solid connection when you didn't have a brad nail that would work), the CA glue then allows the wood glue to make an stronger bond for the remainder of the joint (with the CA glue acting as the brad or clamp as the wood glue dries).
I have to say that you have inspired me alot, I've been building my 3rd sub box now. And I can say that thanks to your videos, it turned out amazing. I am incredibly happy with the results and all the ideas you gave me, the how to only use simple tools only video gave me alot of help. Thanks!
That box turned out SWELL! 😋 your box builds are always top notch Mark!
i have respect for the shallow woofers since i installed one shallow 12" in my 02 dodge ram quad cab. i will be using them more in the future for my other vehicles!💪

i just bought an 03 quad cab. any thoughts on a good setup for under the rear seat?

@@parkerprecision6675 you may be able to find the under seat speaker box on fb marketplace. they come in dual and single units. i have a single unit, so i have some interior storage. i have a shallow 12" kicker comp rt, run by an Alpine 500w amp and a 1 farad cap. i ruined it using the SMD DD1 and CC1
Mark, bring on that router table video. There are plenty of veneers you can use in that center piece. That’s up to you. I have seen this done in homes where the sub was made up to look like furniture. High end clients willing to pay for slick work. Your skills are right in line with that! Roll it!😊👍🏻
Your channel sparked my deep dive into speaker building
Everything is so nice and premium looking. Love your vids, so calm and informative.
Great work as always. I was gonna bust your balls on using the miter sled and fence at the same time then noticed your little trick. Very nice! You show off good saw practice.
Yes aid love a video just about a router table. Thank you in advance
That's a very nice setup, I've never seen woodworking that clean and dust-free!
I've had an idea for a while that I think would be the best of both worlds for someone who wants to ground pound, but still wants some cargo space. I'd like to see a "wall" of shallow mount subs, laid flat on the floor of an SUV. Maybe 4 or 6 subs in a "wall" configuration. Either 4th order bandpass, or down firing (more or less the same concept). I don't care to take credit for the idea, I just want to see someone do it. Since you have sponsorship, maybe suggest the idea to a sponsor, and maybe give us a video. Keep up the good work.
If you need a box design, Mark is the way to go. Top notch design with detailed layout. Can;t say enough good things about the process.

How do I go about ordering box build plans from Mark and how much does it cost ?
Thanks for the quality content as always and your router attention to detail really makes me respect your work... keep it up and +1 for a router feature video
really enjoy your content, I always learn something new. Nice vid, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for you time. And dedication
You are a gift brother I've learned a lot of thing's thankyou for keeping it clean.
I’d like to see that router video and maybe highlight what bits would be better for beginners to purchase because the cost of tools definitely adds up!
my brother has 4 of these in his mustang. full custom build looks and sounds really good
A big YES please to the router video Mark! :-)
Good god your cuts are so perfect. Beautiful box.
Love your videos. Keep em coming!!!
Your videos are always great! You’ve come so far!
I have installed the JL Audio sub in my spare wheel(spare does not have extra holes, just the 5 and the center hole), that I have sealed the holes, with a rubber seal and an aluminum 6" "washer", all bolted down to the car. Placed an MDF over the wheel, made the cutout for the sub and the speaker terminals and strap it, with two ratcheting straps. It hits haaaard. Spare has well over 1.3 cu/ft.
Yes. A router vid would be great. Thanks!
Router video would be awesome! Thanks for all your videos Mark!
Incredible. You are an artist!
Love these vids. Learn so much.
As per always: flawless. Really excited to see how this one comes together!
fantastic build its exactly what i need
Even when building simple, you build quality
nicely done. That's a lot of content in one video! I'm impressed.
I would like to see the router video. I plan on getting the Porter Cable router mentioned in one of your previous videos. I would definitely like to see some of the tricks and the bits that you use to fabricate your designs. Thanks for all of the incredible and helpful videos! Your videos are exactly what car audio fans are looking for..help and tips!
1. I'd LOVE to see you do a full Router vid. 2. Please do the wood inlay. That's something different than you've done in the past, which is always good! 3. Is that a new table saw setup? What table saw and vac system is that?

Great video man. I haven't watched your channel for a minute, and you've definitely improved your skills IMO. That's the most professionally built car subwoofer I've ever seen I think. Very impressive! ✌️

@@CarAudioFabrication mark! Is it possible to install 2-w7 8 under the seat of a 2015 f-150 xlt?
I see ya got a new Sawstop, awesome!!! I like that gray wood as an insert.
Master of the craft
Mann u have CRAZY talent!!!!!!
NICE WORK. Looks clean!
perfection!!
Dude your shop is amazing.
Yes Mark please make a router video! I bought a router because of your videos.
Router video??? Sounds perfect, I really don’t like routers, but I see a need in the future. So yes!
This guy’s channel is so awesome
Love it, been thinking about building a box like this in my BMW F20 118D. Today i have a regular sealed wedge box (30L) with a Dayoton Titanic MK IV but i'm a bit afraid of damageing the sub when i put stuff in the trunk :)
Could you include a video on how you decide on which router bit or profile you choose and how to properly set them up. Like how you make perfect round overs etc... that would be great.
Great looking box
Great video as always! This one is just in time because I’m going to be building a downfiring enclosure for my wife’s trunk.
You got more router bits than Norm Abrams!🤣🤣🤣

I think the router video is a great idea. And if you do it. I think it would be a good idea to you use each type of bit, and show what it can do (what it looks like, and an example of a car audio use for it). So it's easy for everyone to understand what they all do. ✌️
Really great video. Good attention to detail
I wish i had the eq and this talent to build stuff like this.. i need this for my 2017 gmc canyon crew cab
enjoyed the video. nice detail work. tasty idea on the laminated insert.
Awesome video as always, make me want to make more boxes
Dude you are so passionate about this, why not make home audio videos and tutorials as well?
I think the router video is a great idea!
I am from india, love your videos, keep going...
Sweet!
It's a beautiful piece! Wish I had one in my fiesta 2019!

I'd use the wood, as long as it goes with the vehicle interior "theme". Looking go so far!
That's so cool
Damn! Looks at that spotless shop! I didn't know such things existed.

I take pride in my work area, I know it's not macho man dirty but I believe a clean well organized shop is usually a sign of caring about the results of the finished product.
that foam jacket on the wire I've sean you use a few times it seams kinda big so much wouldnt you have to fiqure it in your volume displacement?
Just woooooow....
Another great video as always! We would love to hear more about your tools and your shop. With as much MDF as you cut, what is your favorite blade for the table saw?
Amazing!!!

you are the master
Router video sounds good to me. Great channel! Subbed!
Yes, please, do the router video!
Love the build, would also love a video about routerbits and maybe a video if you do not have it about second battery’s with a stinger battery separator??
Router vid and maybe a vid on basic fab tools when you live at an apartment or have limited space.
Router video? Yes Please!
great timing! I need to build a custom box for my 17 Silverado and my 8" alpine
Yes make the vid!!
Yes to the router video :)
Beautiful shop.
I applaud you for cutting up that wood like that, you may be better than my pops...maybe)
Very nice
Nice job :)
The Mr. Miyagi of speaker enclosures! Always blown away by his craftmanship!
I have 2 pioneer shallow mounts I’m gonna put under my seat haven’t installed yet but the boxes are sealed do you recommend a ported box or sealed for these speakers I like all music but also like deep bass when jamming to anything there’s not many vids that have comparison
Slick stuff there bruh. A1
router video? yes, yes, and yes! i have a router but i currently only have 4 bits. they are so expensive and the different types appear to be infinite. I would like to know more about the tool in general, best applications for use, and mostly the critical/necessary bits i need and will use the most vs the ones i can do without and pick up later
router vid definitely 👍👍
Very refined
Like I said before I dont under3why you dont have millions of followers. Your videos are the blueprint for car audio
cool workshop man!
Router video would be dope !
nice!!!
Definitely use the wood material 🔥
Nice build! I always thought a sealed enclosure could be smaller and when put in a hatchback the cars interior shape would enhance the sub bass. ?
Nice
Great, this is exactly what I need, I have the same subwoofer in a Ford Escape. How can I get the blue print for this model made in the video that can fit on my car?
Brother.... What an excellent video! I guarantee you so many people learned some new techniques, as well as the right techniques, from your descriptions and work. Real quick, what bit that you used with your router to add some depth as you took away material for your speaker binding posts? Thanks in advance and can't wait till the next video!
Channeling some Chrisfix vibes with all the on screen pointing and hand gestures
Question: I have a jeep wrangler what do I put in the boxes to improve sound?
me 2 brother ima big fan been watching your channel for years i was trying to see what brand is your plate earlier 😅 on a different video of yours but since you mentioned it yes i would love to see all those router tools
Q buena caja ,, exitos
Need this for home system
