Roland, I have only seen a fish porpoise a bait twice, this was the send time. The first was live, fishing with a friend a 5lbs small mouth bass did the same to his unweighted Senko as soon as it hit the water. It seemed like it went after the bait before it hit the water. It was a thing of beauty to see live. Interesting how someone who could not carry this man’s tackle box can question his estimated weights. Hundreds of tournaments and many thousands of fish caught. Roland you can call it any weight you want. A living legend.

That Bass flared his gills and opened his mouth, engulfing that frog, while at the same time jumping out of the water. What a strike, what a shot caught on film! The aggressiveness of this species is a big reason they are such a popular fresh water favorite. Just think if they grew to say six, or eight foot long, They would be striking small engine motorboats! ... We're gonna need a bigger boat ...

I was doing the same thing growing up watching Roland and all the pros back in the 1970s on Wide World Of Sports before they made baseball, basketball, and football seasons so long they run over each other. It used to be nice to look forward to those sports, but it’s been decades since I gave a crap about any of those overpriced wimps getting millions to PLAY a GAME. Sadly, it’s almost as bad with these fishing championships. Oh well, at least I have my memories when Mepps brand lures were THE thing in spinners! LOL

Use a 7 foot med heavy action rod, 65# braid, either change to a bigger hook or bend the hooks out from the body so you a 1/16"gap on both sides and pause a couple of seconds. Drop the rod reel in the slack until you start to feel him and really set the hook!
