So very well done on this sale, well presented and very informative to viewers. Would be great to see a programme (or two possibly) showing the restoration of one of them or all of them maybe, would sure be a great sight to see and experience the technology and skill that goes into the highly interesting car restoration process! Thanks for this, loved it!

Anglia Car Auctions did a great job, from start to finish. These cars will now be off to start a new chapter, which is really exciting. We’d love to know where they end up, but that would be down to the new owners. Fingers crossed 🤞

You are correct about the registration numbers, up until 1990 (I think) vehicles coming into the UK were registered according to that year and not the age of the vehicle. I have a 1983 Suzuki that came from California and it has an 'F' 1987 reg number. That changed and now they have to be 'age related' registrations.

WoW!! I'm sure the people who bought these valuable hulks have a clue that it will take a marquee restorer YEARS and hundreds of thousands of Dollars to restore those AC's. As a side note; 45 or so years ago an AC Bristol sold for $5,600 in my area. The car must have been hot rodded out in the late '50's or early '60's as the engine had been swapped out for an old school 392 CU IN Chrysler Hemi! I always love to see the E-TYPE Jags show up on your auction site..... I had two back in the early '80's. Great job, guys! Cheers from Connecticut in the States!

The problem is that it is usually an older person with the disposable income to afford to spend this money on what is what we call "residue". He will drop it at some shop and it will be years before it is done. The owner in some cases is too old to care.

@@UKBarnFinds If someone like Dominic Chimera with space, tools ,ability and friends you can methodically work through certainly the ACs, and probably use the Jags basically as the chassis number for a company that has all the bodywork and mechanicals in stock giving three out. The trim is probably the most labour intensive or expensive these days . The landy will bash back into shape and fit on a new chassis frame. A lot of the "prestige" classic cars are stored almost as artwork, and if they appreciate in value they are at present a tax free investment if stored securely and cleanly - and you can take them out for a track day if you wish. Out of interest there were a lot of spare wheels in the yard - were they put in a van and sold off or matched with bodies as spares where possible ?

Yeah I wish to tell you in advance that I am a naysayer goin' on a "prophet of doom" .. I do not believe for one minute that anyone in their right mind would pay such overwhelmingly inflated prices, for what I consider to be fodder for the vehicle crusher .. how could anyone possibly pay that kinda money for a junk motor vehicle then spend another fortune restoring it .. the whole thing resonates with the YT valuables appraisals, thus someone turns up with a porcelain doll and the appraiser says "that's worth quids and quids," the item is worth nothing except replacement value .. wonder if the vehicle auction is all sham with bodgey bidders and ghost attendees .. if you lot are fair dinkum after all you should disregard my criticisms .. good luck :)

You can have double that, easily. Auctioneer, one or two spotters for room bidders, one to monitor the internet bids and inform the auctioneer and any number of phone operatives for remote bidders. Auction houses are busy places and, when bidding is frantic, missed opportunities could be punished quite hard.
