The fact buff mapleshade, sandstorm, and silverstream might be canon is amazing- cus in the books mapleshade is decribed as a very strong and big cat, firestar used to be a kittypet (aka small), and i mean cmon.. silverstream lifted and carried graystripe across extreamly strong currents.

I enjoy making housecats smaller than the wildcats, because the housecats just dont need to be big, and wildcats have to be able to hunt. Oh yeah, RiverClan cats have to be more muscular than the others, because they dive for fish, and most mammals aren't made for that...unless they're a moose (please, do not do research.)

I accept Brightheart being much bigger than Cloudtail, besides we haven't had a whole lot of she-cats who are bigger than their mates in a while

Was that ever a thing for clan cat? (referring to the sisters) Even she cats who were described as large (mapleshade for example) were specified to still be a smaller than their mates. People portray yellowfang as being large too, when in fact she struggled through her entire novel to keep up with her clan mates because she was so short, maybe the fluff adds blank but she’s described as visibly scrawny too. Mothwing is was described as small by jay and dovewing as well. Both silverstream and feathertail were described as small and slender as well. This is just a list of “big” she cats who are actually undersized.

​@@Yeibaldreamsssizes in warrior cats are all over the place depending on which ghost writer is working. The only small cat they have ever gotten consistantly right is Littlecloud and anything with mouse in the name there is a obvious hint in the name. Oh and Scourge of course. I think Fading echos is the book I believe where they say mothwing is small but in the same book or one really close, she is also described as bigger and much more broad then mistystar who in previous books has been described as a regular sized cat. So I have no Idea what fading echos was doing if i'm being honest. In earlier books where she just became a medcat she was listed as small in the alliances but that was dropped after a while so I assume she grew? Not many cat's get changed in the alliances so it's strange. One factor that's never left her though is ever description of her body type she's listed as very broad, so she's either a big broad cat or a tiny cat with rippling muscles. Haha. But either way that means Mistystars becomes tiny as well or Mothwing is at least a regular sized cat. My petition is that Jay and dove are just giants haha (dovewing is a disaster too, shes small but sometimes she's as tall as bumblestripes chest and Bublestripe is a very big cat. So that makes no sense at all.) Squirrel's size got changed, she used to be a bit taller then Leafpool, not any more. Mapleshade is a hard one, she is implied to be larger then the med cat. However she's also larger then a fairly large she cat like frecklewish (tigerstar family tree) who is implied or outright said to be almost as big as her brother who was described as big. Then maple shrinks when she comes to appledusk who is the size of a regular tom (maybe a little taller). In into the Wild Crookedstar was listed as huge in the allegiances while Tigerstar was only big and then in another book they just imply crookedstar's a bit bigger then one of the normal size cats, when Tigerclaw is describe as massive in the same book. Then hawkfrost: Hawkfrost-broad-shouldered but the book mentions he looks small in his prime at one point. (only once though, he's always supposed to be big.) Oakfur is listed as small, we know when he's around other medium sized cats he's small but somehow Tawnypelt, full grown warrior, never once listed as a small cat, is basically implied to be the same height as him in one scene and then the writers remember later and make him smaller then her again. I can often guarantee you this, no matter how big a she cat is, even if she's listed as bigger, if she is in the presence of a tom (usually a mate) not named mouse, little or scourge she seems to shrink in size, even if it defies logic and previous descriptions.

Fun fact; Wild cats (ie, Sandstorm, Brightheart) are bigger than their pure-blooded housecat counterparts (ie, Firestar, Cloudtail) This is because cats are predators, and wild cats selectively bred themselves (and/or evolved) to be bigger, while housecats didn't need to do so.

Firestar was described as a little slender compared to forest born cats, as for cloudtail, he’s not only fat but also extremely fluffy which gives the illusion of a big cat. All she cats portrayed as large by the fandom are actually described as undersized or slender (silverstream, feathertail, yellowfang, especially mothwing and goldenflower) Squirrelflight who’s always portrayed as being incredibly short in MAPs and art has never once been described as small, just “plump” at times. Leafpool is a lot smaller. I find this kind of ironic, but I prefer short squirrelflight

Technically, they're all house cats. Feral cats are still domesticated cats - wild cats are a seperate animal, like wild dogs and dogs.

​@@Yeibaldreamssand for Cloudtail it kinda made sense for him to be on the more bigger size (regardless if he had the fluff or not) since based on what Princess (aka Cloudtail's mom and Firestar's sister) said, he was her first born so it's possible he gotten more food compared to his siblings and when he was apprenticed he had a mini arc where he would secretly go to the kitty pet place to steal food so honestly made sense that he was more on the cubbier side

@@dinolil1474 Cats are a naturally occurring animal, native to mostly Africa and Asia. they aren’t a man made species. Out of the entire estimated cat population, hardly a quarter is actually “domesticated.” They’re not all house cats, very very far from it. Take my word as someone who’s worked at shelter, and rescued many cats. Ferals are way fucking scarier than the all dogs I’ve taken care of there, I had to wear metal gloves when handling them. It’s better to leave them outside at that point, it’s not like anyone even wanted to go near them. There’s a damn good reason “feral cats” and “ house cats” are separate.

@@YeibaldreamssOh they changed how big squirrelflight is in the books, she's smaller then leafpool at one point. Also Mothwing is a massive contradiction depending on the book, small or regular sized or bigger then mistystar who was describe as a pretty big she cat at one point. The one thing she is always describe as though is broad except when she gets older then they just don't really describe her much anymore. I think she got skinny at a couple points too but they still described her as broad then too which was strange. I do agree though Yellowfang is very small and I believe she's one of the few that didn't get contradicted in canon but I think pov from a still quite small firestar at the time might have caused some confusion in her size in the fandom.

A lot of these she-cats being taller than the males makes sense especially MapleShade, SandStorm, and BrightHeart. MapleShade is described as a very large cat, so it makes sense.
