i always liked the vanilla carcha, its a personal favorite of mine... but modded carcha looks beautiful too!

The Evo Giganotosaurus feels like a regal champion. The Evo Carcharodontosaurus feels like a prestigious warlord. And that is precisely how it should be. Very exceptionally done.

BigAl is one of my favorite mod creators just from the 2 mods alone. I love the work that both Dino’s had recieved

I agree it makes it kinda like one of the prehistoric beasts Dino’s 🤮 buuuuuut it’s quality is still leagues better it still looks way better especially with the skin detail I just don’t know way it looks so shiny apart from that it’s quite amazing

Definitely agree, decent model but it's too smooth and plastic looking for me to like it more then the original. I also feel the ridges along the nose don't quite feel like they are organic, they just feel a little bit like they are plopped on there. It's great work but I feel could use a little more tweaking.

This is also amazing. Aiming to play The Island with full Paleo ARK and some more creature rework mods. I feel like, with the new rework of the map, that the old models etc. feels misplaced in such a beautiful environment. So im basicly waiting for all Paleo ARK mods to drop, since i wanna start like that. The EVO creatures sound amazing, look amazing, has unique taming methods compared to normal K.O and then their wild behavior combined with their movement is just such a good match for ASA! Im so excited to dig deep into this 🤩 EDIT: How didn't we all notice how ugly the old running animation was xD it looks like a dog that is sitting down and doing its thing... but its running...

It's a little funny how the "small" Carcha is still twice the size of the actual dinosaur. But yeah, the modded walk cycle looks very cool and smooth.

Another comprehensive mod summary, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this, but now that you’ve laid it out I’m sold. I’m going to take this mod as a chance to practice altering single player ini files to totally replace vanilla with small carchas in preparation for PaleoArk. Thank you Becca!

i think that the lil carcha has the same knock back as the big one which is kinda op for its size

Great showcase as always. I played around with the small Carcha which I feel alongside the Meraxes make for nice alternatives to the Rex. Aesthetics wise, (which is subjective of course), I like the WC version more. In particular, the scales where I prefer the rougher textured, more matte look of croc-like scales. The smooth snakeskin like, shiny scales on large creatures feels a bit off, especially under the bright sun in Ark it looks too glossy. Also it's a bit of an unusual choice for the camouflage patches to remain large in size along the length of the tail instead of becoming ever smaller or stripe like imo. Animation wise, much like Meraxes, it's just top notch. I mean can we all take a moment to appreciate the variety of cool idle animations of the Meraxes... fantastic.

The only issue I have is it doesn’t look like sprint when it runs more so a fast walk idk it just feels like Al can’t make good running animations

6:47 That spot has always had mountain spawn regions for some reason! You can find allos, rexes, ankys, sabers, and acros there a lot of times. Idk if the wiki acknowledges it.

i never even knew classic carcha had a buff roar, and with that pose for the running animation I can see a TLC being very reasonable lol. I wonder how the mini version would compete against stuff like meraxes! awesome mod, the dev seems to know how to balance the dinos really well :)

Really cool that there's a smaller option. Not everything needs to be gigantic.

What’s the spawn code for it?? I tried putting in the one on the mod page and nothing happens Update: for those that need the spawn code Cheat sdf carchaba 1 1 1 The middle “1” is the level it spawns in I believe

Hey , have a question, does spawn the Both carcha in every map ? I play at the Island map , the command doesnt work and the vanilla carcha spawn. And yes the mod is enabled

This mod ADDS more Carcha spawns, it doesn't replace existing ones. So yes you'll find both Vanilla and Big Al Carchas If you want the small ones too, that's an additional mod, which also works cooperatively with the big Carcha and Vanilla Carcha

Hopefully it can also fit in the tek cave!! Does anyone know if it can?

Eh, in terms of visuals, the spiked crest on its head is really the only improvement to me. I love how the original looks. One minor nitpick for me with mods like this is, I'm not crazy with rare spawns having to compete with eachother. Plus as someone who has REALLY good Carcharos, samina is actually very respectable for how fast they can go. I will say though, I love the meat reduction ability and roar rework

I completely agree with the competing spawns and that is something I should have clarified also I really do hope Simple Spawners comes to ASA soon, I enjoy rarity but current Giga/Carcha spawns aren't fun

My one gripe with the vanilla carchar is its pathetic roar😂 like what even is that lmao, it sounds like it got hit in the nuts with a club. This one gives it a good proper roar for how intimidating of a creature that would be

Although I do like the new model and how it plays I did like the original carch being the opposite of the giga. Giga is slow, bleeds, and more powerful where the carch can run, stop heals, and does less damage

Old version looks better to me but animation on new one is better

I felt the same way, I didn't think it was needed either. But having now tried out Big Al's Carcha, it doesn't add anything insane, but it does make the Carcha feel more polished and finished

If you mean the Paleo ARK EVO Giga, yes it got a TLC in ASE but it's not available in ASA yet. It's super close, though!

It's a fake. I'm playing ASA I spawn it in. There was no animation it was stocked like a glitch or lag of some kind Whoever made this thing did A poor piss job. Or maybe it's me. I don't think so. The majority's of my dinosaurs that I spawn in through commands. Work absolutely good no problem but when I spawn this new Carcha No animation what soever an even moves. While the legs stay still, it's lighting. That tells me that it's a fake or not complete. Tell the creator. To do a better job with mods

You're wrong - But that's a good thing Wildcard fucked up a patch that has caused *MANY* mods to break across PC, XBOX and PS5, and it's causing *MANY* custom dinos to lose their animations and run around T-Posed. Unfortunately all modders are individually scrambling to figure out how to fix it because, again, it was caused by one of the latest ASA patches. Give it time, this Carcha rework should also get fixed
