Bidet Toilet Seat Fitment & Measuring Guide - BidetKing.com

This is a video tutorial from BidetKing.com that will help you determine if a bidet toilet seat will work with your toilet.

In this video, we'll show you how to measure your toilet and determine whether it is compatible with our bidet products.
Here, we see the Brondell Swash 1000 bidet seat on a 2-piece toilet. Like most residential toilets, we can tell this is a 2 piece because the toilet tank and toilet bowl are separate pieces that have been bolted together.
Using a measuring tape, determine the distance from the front of the toilet tank to the front edge of the toilet bowl. This length should be at least 20.5 inches for an elongated seat and 19 inches for a round seat.
You can also measure the length of your bowl by starting from the midpoint between the two toilet seat bolt holes. This distance should be at least 18 inches for an elongated bowl. A round bowl usually has about 17 inches for this measurement.
Next, measure the distance between the front of the toilet tank to the bolt holes. On most bidet seats, we'll need at least 1.5 inches of clearance. However, for some of our larger bidets like the Bio Bidet BB-1000, 2 inches of clearance is recommended.
For most standard toilets, the distance between the two bolt holes are around 5 to 7.5 inches. If you have more than 7.5 inches, please contact BidetKing.com for consultation.
Next, we see a one piece Kohler Rialto toilet. We can tell this is a 1 piece toilet because the tank and bowl are molded together into 1 seemless unit. Some 1 piece toilets like the Kohler Rialto cause problems for most bidet products due to its curved tank, also known as a french curve. The french curve prevents bidet seats from being mounted properly.
While there are many 1 piece toilets that work fine with bidet seats, avoid those that have a French curve. If you happen to have a French curve toilet, there are still some bidet seats that will fit, namely the INAX Luscence.

My Toilet is 17.5" from the bolt holes so is it considered elongated or round?

Right in between...Round would fit the toilet better, but you MAY be able to get away with elongated with some overhang in front

Thanks for this, not many videos explaining how to measure the toilet for a bidet fit. I certainly don't want to buy something only to find it doesn't fit and the company won't take it back.

Best bidet is without question that which produces upward VERTICAL water jet, as is the KO BIDET. Sanitary safe (does not push filthy water to uro-genitalia), cheap (18$). effective.
