Biden BACKTRACKS Support for Trans Kids 🙄

Ойын-сауық

In this video, we delve into the Biden administration's recent backtrack on support for transgender surgeries for minors. Unsealed documents from an Alabama lawsuit reveal that the administration, despite earlier advocating for trans rights, now opposes surgeries for minors while maintaining support for puberty blockers and hormone treatments. This shift raises concerns within the trans community, highlighting the ongoing struggle for consistent and comprehensive healthcare rights. Join us as we explore the implications of this policy change and what it means for trans youth and their families.

The thing that really gets me is that the same people who cry "children can't make decisions about their gender until 18, maybe even 25!" are perfectly happy to call a 15 year old Gazan child who throws a rock and gets arrested an "adult."

In more conservative countries (for example, in the Eastern Europe), there are always the risk of not just restrictions but blanket bans on legal transition and trans health care, including adult one. Hungary did so in 2020, Russia in 2023, Georgia is now on the blink of banning it. And spillovers from anti-trans hysteria in the West contribute to this.

In reality, she probably *does* understand that, because she surely knows that tomboys exist (female gender identity, masc gender presentation), but is conveniently ignoring that distinction to suit her narrative in the moment. That sure sounds familiar. And yeah, she is just patently wrong when she says you would have been diagnosed as a kid. I wasn't diagnosed until 30. And a LOT of people go undiagnosed as kids because our neurodivergence gets perceived as just "bad behaviour", and so we end up punished instead of helped, perpetuating the cycle of ignorance. Femboys are a thing. Undiagnosed kids are common. And trans identities are valid. It's nobody else's place to prescribe an identity onto you. u.u I'm so sorry you're needing to go through that. It's increased my quality of life in literally every conceivable metric. And I'm only eight months in to HRT. I can't wait to see where I'm at in another year and a half. I'm holding out hope we get a replacement for Biden before the election. That'd be great first off because Biden is just so uniquely sh-t that I have a hard time, even with Trump as a threat, seeing him winning the election. And if Trump were to somehow be replaced with a more _presentable_ and likable candidate (maybe Trump passes away) but who will still do all the things the far right already has planned... yeah, that's a confirmed loss for Biden at that point. Of course, it's very hard to find _likeable_ republicans or general right-wingers who could take Trump's spot. But it'd also be great to get another Dem to replace Biden because Biden is awful. He's a genocide supporter and enabler. He holds very right-wing views, and can't be trusted to DO anything. And on top of all that, while _others_ in his admin will try to do some good here and there -- but at a glacial pace and almost never addressing the root of a problem, but rather the symptom of a symptom -- Biden himself will enact very similar policy as Trump, just at a much slower pace. See the border situation, Israel's slaughter of Palestinians with US arms Biden sold him, and the complete indifference to the accumulating anti-trans laws from various far-right legislatures. And yes, the dissolution of what restricted Democracy we had in the us is still occurring under Biden -- the alleged Democracy-Protector. I want to avoid Trump by all means. But I won't pretend that Biden isn't just a slower-paced Trump. I have no reason to believe Biden is opposed to fascism, he just likes maintaining a false folksy aesthetic (while clearly being so elderly that he drops in and out of consciousness outside of the middle of the day). Much of his admin is okay, some maybe even edging toward "good" if also fairly weak. But the slow death of the US under Biden really isn't a great counter to Trump. The far right still has a LOT of control of the country even without holding the executive at this moment. Center-Right 90's Republicans presenting as Dems aren't a solution. If anything, it's the presidents like Clinton, Obama, and Biden that have gotten us here. I'll happily take Kamala right now, but that's only because it's an extremely low bar to clear for "Better than Biden and Trump". Which is exactly what the Capitalists want. To have pro-worker, pro-commoner options as far from achievable as possible. Bernie is the real centrist, and in a rational country would have been the safe and easy choice -- instead of being represented as "radical" by the media. AOC would be the youthful centrist who has loose ties to some mild leftists. No, we _should_ be having a real counter-Trump option. Someone who is all about abolishing corporate ownership, abolishing private ownership of public areas and institutions. Enshrining human rights for all and being aggressively anti-colonialist. Simplifying and making superbly available any and all science-based medical care for trans people. Universal and complete healthcare for every single person. Abolishing prison and reinventing our approach to resolving "crime" and other injustices.

Voting Biden is to vote conservative, to vote trump is to vote authoritarian, it's a lose lose but one just happens to be notably worse short term

Yeah, if the Dems do not very vocally switch on this topic and push for trans rights, then I am actually gonna vote Trump just to see this worthless nation burn. If things get bad I'll move away from here.

@davidpacifico1019 I mean realisitically it's gonna take more than just one spiteful voter to make Trump win, and if he did that means a plurality of americans likely voted against their best self interests which would be entirely on them at that point, besides unless the op is in a purple state then their vote won't make a difference regardless I actually respect their decision, America is a very evil country since it's founding that deserves to be burnt down. I'm both mixed race and trans, and with the ways things are going, it doesn't matter if Trump gets elected or not, this country likely won't remain safe for ppl like me over the next few years or so, for any trans person really

@davidpacifico1019 dude don’t worry about this pansy here in the comments. Their brain’s so smooth they think voting for Trump out of spite is a-okay. I mean it’s not like our lives and democracy are at stake or anything 🙄.

@EvelynMakesThings i understand, but sometimes in life, for one's own wellbeing and safety, have to make some sacrifices and do whatever they can to make plans to move to a more hospitable area I'm speaking from experience as a homeless person I've had to do the same, am gonna have to do it again in the near future, but it won't be nearly as easy this time
