The Noah narrative-- everyone would have grumbled and complained with the whole "are we there yet?" and "how long are we going to be stuck in this darn boat?"

It's good for what it does. It's a biblical primer for kids.

Great review. I'm learning the bible again as an adult. I purchased the Cultural Backgrounds study bible based on your review and have been loving it. I thought about supplementing with this Action Bible. I figured it would be much faster to go through and I would have a better idea of all the stories. I now know that I would rather continue to read the bible as is first so, that I know what scripture ultimately says. I definitely see how someone (kid or adult) could develop a skewed view with this storybook as their primary introduction. I may still read the Action Bible in the future for fun. The David storybook looks like a good read. Thank you for sharing.

Love how you started off being clear on how it wasn’t a translation and the quality of the interpretation

Oh how funny, your girlish figure comment made me giggle. Thank you for this review, 20 years ago I bought my son a graphic novel style Bible, he is deaf and just couldn't 'get' the Bible, the graphic style was a HUGE help, now he reads a regular Bible.

Very interesting analysis as usual! Thanks for your cultural comments... I have liked how "The Chosen" has portrayed semitic characters and included Ethiopian characters etc. Would love to hear your take on the Chosen? 🙃

Other than John the Baptist's ridiculous looking fake beard, I love The Chosen!

Very creative & informative as usual! At least now I know this “Bible” is not an actual study Bible let alone a Bible. I have quite a substantial collection of study Bibles & I’m always open to another-although personally, I think I already have the best. Now I know to pass on this animated children’s story book about the Bible …thanks for the info! 👍😁

Shout out for your comment on immortality at 3:17 I love this Bible, but I see so many people take that unbiblical stance. Great to see you review this and highlighting some of the comedic things.

Also, I agree with you on Job as well. It's one of my petpeeves when I find Job after Genesis 11.

Well all in all, it's like you yourself said " this is not a bible" so I wouldn't personally give it to a child to learn/ study scripture. I would however buy a copy as one who reads true scripture as a novelty to put on the bookshelf.

Bought this version for grandson due to his love for comics. It is accurate that our "souls live forever" as we either end up in Heaven, and/or New Earth, or end up in Hell.

Its a Bible comic book, you get an idea of the story in a condensed format, so its all to be expected, its for children, children dont care bout the blood or gore or the fact all the angels are "white" children dont care about race, all the "issues" seem to be issues with adults reading the book, it seems like a good book to get children introduced to the Bible.

Children don't care about a lot of things. Parents and teachers who are tasked with guiding and nurturing their biblical worldview, however, often do--which is who these reviews are aimed at. ;)

your theology is inaccurate regarding Adam and Eve created to live forever...THEY WERE CREATED TO LIVE FOREVER../;God's plan WAS for Man to live without dying... Sin entered the world.. thru the disobedience of Adam and Eve... and Sin brought death... Until Sin entered the world there was No Death... unless you believe in the Gap theory.. and that one creation existed between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2... but if we take the bible literally as only ONE creation. .then Adam and Eve lived in a world prior to the curse of death,... I will explain your misconception regarding partaking of the tree of Good and evil and the tree of life.... some believe there were 2 separate trees.. others believe it was all one combined tree.. some others believe it was 1 tree divided into 2 parts... one side containing the knowledge. and the other eternal life what happened was........... Eve and Adam partook of the knowledge side... then God.. pronounce the curse.. now Man was cursed to Not live forever .but he now was living in a sinful condition...... God expelled Adam and Eve and protected the tree.. so Adam and Eve could Not return to it... and partake of the tree of Life side.. once they had been cursed and in their sin fallen state...... God did not want a sinful creation to be immortal... Only a creation that would later be redeemed thru His Son...which would receive immortality Spiritually... if God.. would have allowed Adam AndEve..to partake of the tree of life side. .than none would have drowned in the day of the flood...
