My husband and I set our alarm for 30 minutes before we truly need to. We get up, hit the Keurig for each of us, then we sit in the living room with our coffee, and take turns reading one verse at a time for one chapter. Then we share what stood out to us. Normally takes less than the 30 minutes we allow. It has brought us closer, we share very personal thoughts, and it's a great way to start our day before heading to work. Then, at the end of our day, we pray together, first me for him, then him for me...and off to sleep. Our best ever habits!! Blessing on you, Diana!! I appreciate you so much!!

Thanks for sharing! Such a great idea. I love the idea of praying for each other at night. We used to pray each night before sleep and just forgot about that tradition over the past few years. You've inspired me to start it up again!

Thank you, I like to write scripture. For example, my July topic was Forgiveness. I read and wrote 31 scriptures that talked about forgiveness. I write them in my planner.

I also write out scripture. It really helps me to slow the reading and dig deep into it. Also, writing it out helps it stick in my brain!

I really like the idea of having a “space” to study. I have a corner in my sewing room that is perfect. I can have everything in one spot and don’t have to collect pen, Bible, notebook, highlighters etc. Thank you!!

At some point in our journeys, I recommend everyone do a chronological reading of the Bible. This approach really brought the story to life for me. For example, reading a Psalm right after reading about the battle that inspired it made both so much clearer and impactful.

Diana, thank you to you and your sis, for introducing my husband and I to Bible Recap!! I had wanted to do a 1 year study for a very long time. But I couldn't find one that seemed like a good fit, until I looked into Bible Recap this past December, at your suggestion. I then mentioned it to my husband, and now we are learning SO much together! There are many days we learn things we had never heard of in His Word, and are totally amazed by the new revelation! This study has been such a blessing to us both individually, and as a couple! It has stirred our hunger to study God's Word, and our desire to set that time as a priority together, with the Lord! Thank you for blessing us with this suggestion! God bless you and yours...💝 You are a gift!

Diana I started reading every day a few years ago. I use a Bible app and listen to it while sipping my coffee. I always sign up for this program that lets you go through the whole Bible during the school year. I love it!! I feel like it has focused my mind on Christ. I love that you have your own channel now! Congratulations!

I am thankful for you across the miles Diana and your sister Dawn. I am not a twin…but raising 2 sets of twins from age 7 to 18 months… we have 5 kids and the busy mom life is not something I can even explain (too sleep deprived), I run on Jesus, coffee, and some pick me up encouragement like this. Neat hearing how God has worked in your life. To grow I often have TBN app on my kitchen tv to grow and gain in the midst of mom life. I try to stay off my social media bc it’s overwhelming and can be too much in ppl’s business that I don’t need to focus on or just can’t.

I started my daily habit of reading my bible and listening to the TBR podcast before getting out of bed in the morning not long after Dawn’s morning routines video. Than in June I started a new job and I’m so grateful that my travel time in the morning is the exact length of the bible scripture being read to me through the bible and the length of TLC’s podcast. So I was able to easily transfer my habit on the morning I have to work to a easier way of access so I didn’t miss out. Lol what is funny though a couple of weeks ago my mum asked me how long it takes me to get to work and all I could say is I didn’t know the minutes (20-25?? Maybe) but it’s the exact length of my bible reading and podcast.

Love, love, love The Bible Recap! I heard about it from you and Dawn earlier this year, and I'm so glad you shared it. I started it using the Bible app and invited my parents to join me. We have had so many interesting discussions about scripture since starting it. Truly a blessing in my life!!

I followed your advice today. I shared a prayer from my First5 devotion on Facebook today. Turns out it was the first thing my friend two from states away read when she opened her phone. Her father had just passed away yesterday (which I didn’t know) and this prayer was exactly the comfort she needed this morning. God’s Word IS powerful, and God’s church is built on Him, even through social media like KZread and Facebook. It’s an honor to be a subscriber to your channel Diana! I have just downloaded the “you version” app. I have been looking for a Bible app where it is read to me rather than reading it myself. I also listened to the Bible recap for today and was blown away by the concept of the difference between religion and sonship, it really struck a chord. Getting YouVersion and a read through the Bible in the school year plan was a game changer for me. I had resisted using my phone for Bible, but was also inconsistent with quiet time. Now I read in bed, on my phone, with a cup of tea most mornings. When I get behind, I'll put the audio on while doing chores or driving. I don't worry so much about getting it all read, but it's very helpful to me to have a way to track my reading. YouVersion also has a "streak" feature and watching that number tick up every consecutive day is a brain trick trick to keep me on track. I'm learning too that time in the Word is a refuge where I can abide in truth in a crazy world. My brain and heart can trust that everything I'm feeding them are reliable. I use to believe having a quiet time would make my whole day go better. People say that, right? I would get frustrated when my day didn't go well, after I had been "faithful" to have a quiet time! I realized I was seeing God as a vending machine. Put in morning Bible reading, *chu-ching* get a nice day! It really was that wrong-headed and I was totally missing the blessing of Scripture.

You've motivated me to restart my gospel study. Thanks for all the great tips.

My mom had us kids memorize scriptures from a young age..we certainly didn’t know everything but the promises she helped us know helped anchor us for bigger events we’d face in life when we needed. My devotional time as a busy tired mom is a struggle. To meditate on a verse whether hearing or reading… I hold on and chew the cud for a while. This a.m. I thought of the verse from Psalms… those who sow in tears will reap in joy?! Had a share of the tears 😭

The beautiful thing about this is the fact that God becomes your reward

Yay! I've always looked forward to your Sunday videos with Dawn and am now super excited as you get your own channel up and running! As for Bible study hacks, the best thing for me was a mindshift change. A few years back my Sunday School teacher informed us that everyone of us in his class was a theologian. At that point in time I thought only preachers had and used commentaries and biblical references and that was so far above little ole me. Now I consider myself a theologian and get excited at the thought of delving into The Word! It's now fun and I get so very much out of it. Also, I'm very visual so, I love watching The Bible Project videos on KZread. So good! Looking forward to your future videos!

This video is literally an answer to my prayers. Thank you Diana! I am struggling and I am the person you speak of that is having a 'wrestling' match trying to get myself to study my Bible each day. For this season of my life, I am going to do this before going to sleep, sit up in bed and my reward will be a good night's rest, I can always think of another reward if this doesn't work. I love the suggestion of the Bible recap and the Dwell app, I will download both of those. I am getting close to retirement and am in a marriage that is a disaster, if you could say a prayer for us I would greatly appreciate it. I am thankful for the work that you do! Stating the obvious..... reading everyday has a built in reward of knowing Him. That revelation should be enough to keep you going. When we desire those worldly things it usually means our heart isn’t where it needs to be.

I downloaded the YouVersion Bible app and the Bible recap in February, based on your recommendation. Five star recommendation in my opinion. It made studying the Bible and reading it chronologically so much more interesting and applicable ( not to mention understandable). I also love how the Bible app has different short term plans For specific areas and seasons of life. The Bible app and Bible recap plan have significantly deepened my faith, enriched my prayer life, and strengthened my relationship with God. And as Tara Lee Cobble Says, learning about the character of God. You scared me a little Diana when you said it was a three-year plan. The Bible recap is a one year Reading plan. Completely self paced, and amazingly rewarding. One more thing… would you re-institute your blessing prayer at the end of each video? I’ve always found them powerful, insightful, and humbling in just the right way.

I would like to recommend Your Daily Prayer and Abide Daily Christian Meditation. I listen to these podcasts everyday and they're a real blessing! 🤗👍🏻

My son and I love The Bible Project! I first followed Dawn, then fell in love with Sunday's now loving the techniques you share. Keep going I love having you both in my virtual life 🤣❤

I use Bible Gateway app to read and listen to the Bible. I have arthritis and carpal tunnel in both my hands so this helps. It is free. My work schedule varies a lot so I need to get a week Bible reading/ study set up. I also have one child I’m still homeschooling, we are starting in September, for four more years. Three homeschooled children already have graduated.

Great video with wonderful ideas! I sometimes use the Pray As You Go app.

Thanks for recommending The Bible Recap on your Sunday's with Dawn. I've been following along all year and its been amazing!!! And Dwell is cool, love hearing the word and all the narrator/version options!! Looking forward to you and Dawn doing a podcast, very nice!
