To be honest, we should probably just ditch the bard specific stereotype and make it a stereotype of the Charisma stat itself. Everything with a high charisma stat wants to bang the dragon. Bard, Paladin, Sorcerer, you name it.

Dragons can - and will - mate with just about anything if it passes the Harkness test. And some things that don't if they're chromatic. There's an old mating compatability chart, and Dragons are 'yes' to literally everything that's on it.

A friendly reminder that in the forgotten realms setting (which baldurs gate is apart of) dragons have the innate ability to change shape. They can take on the form of whatever species they desire while retaining their true nature. The vast majority of humans that mate with dragons and produce offspring do not actually KNOW that they are doing so. Lot of human women getting the surprise of their life when they lay an egg, and human males waking up to find a half dragon egg in their home.

He's a tough son of a b*tch to fight, especially when he transforms into his full dragon form. (edit): It is also official that there have been more than a dozen humans that have knocked up a dragon throughout the Forgotten Realms' history. How is that possible? In Forgotten Realms D&D, some dragons have the natural ability, or magic spells or items like rings that help them shapeshift into humans or elves, not all dragons in the Forgotten Realms are sleeping in caves full of stolen treasure or anything like that, some are walking around towns and cities disguised as a common human or elf. You wouldn't know that the person in front of you is a disguised dragon unless they reveal it to you.

His name too) And there are more Sendai the Sharan Drow Bhaalspawn. Illasera the Thieves Gromnir Il-Khan Khan of Calimshan Orc. And Viekang the Deceiver, sleeper Bhaalspawn. Only awaken as Bhaal last resort. (And in the hated novel, the one who kills Gorion's Ward)

Does this comment section realize that dragon usually shapeshift in humanoid form when the mate with smaller races? Also, this is literally the least disturbing fact about Baal. Dragons in disguise seduce and sleep around all the time in Faerun. There’s nothing special or unique about it.

To add to this: Read "The Legend of Huma"; there's a lot of correlation between the dragonlance series and D&D, even down to some of the characters. That series will give you a lot of information as a whole, but how dragons relate the other races, this book in particular is a good one.

Compared to most villains of Baldur's Gate 3, the Five were on a whole other level. I liked Yaga Shura the most, because he had an actual f*cking army you needed to fight before facing him.

There’s a tongue in cheek scene in BG2 expansion where the protagonist discovers and is attacked by a group of Bhaalspawns consisting of a goblin, chinchilla and a couple of kobolds. Obv not a hard fight but the player is left either laughing or disturbed lol

I mean the Original games are 26 years old at this point, older than most Bg3 players most likely. I was 1 when the first came out. All my friends are younger than I am so they weren't even alive. I've played the old games but my point is that the games themselves are kinda old from my PoV.

@willr.1495 As far as innate abilities go, you're correct. Though in Storm King's Thunder, the ancient blue dragon Iymrith also possesses this ability, though she shifts into a giant. Abazigal in BG2 could take the form of a blue-skinned humanoid. It's reasonable to assume that based on their magical nature, chromatic dragons can learn to change shape, but it isn't second nature to them like a silver dragon. Though any chromatic other than a green or blue probably won't give a shit- I can't see a red dragon being okay with taking the form of a lesser being.

Dragonborn in the game are mostly lore conform (with some liberties here and there, especially in the visual department). There is no implication that Dragonborn are half-dragons. The one Durge is talking to in this video is an actual dragon (well, half dragon, half god) that simply uses a humanoid form. Probably because the devs thought it might be slightly distracting having a big a** dragon in that small room.

What I don’t understand is why every dragons in Baldur gate 3 chose dragonborn as their humanoid disguise of choice when they usually favor the shape of humans and elves when they mingle among other races. In any other forgotten realm stories I read, I never seen a dragon chose a dragonborn as their disguise.

@@AdeptKing But the whole point of dragon shapeshifting is to hide the fact your a dragon. That’s why humans and elves are popular choice because they are commons in faerun. Dragonborn are rare outside their homeland so you automatically start drawing attention on yourself by being an unusual sight. They don’t even choose a different scale color for their disguise. The most stupid exemple is Voss red dragon. He could have disguise himself as a fellow githyanki but instead choose a red dragonborn. That is 100% going to draw suspicions since Gith seldom associate themselves with other race and they need to fool the rest of their people into believing they are still loyal to Vlakith. And dragon are not exactly fond of dragonborn (the feeling is mutual). So why would a proud dragon (especially a red one) chose a Dragonborn as his disguise?

Yeah well I know about a Donkey who did it first.
