BFI - Railway With a Gallant Soul (1951)

Фильм және анимация

A Canadian film-maker's humorous tribute to the Skarloey Railway, a curious little line in eastern Sodor that perseveres despite the odd derailment and unidentified bits-and-bobs falling off locomotives. Though the film-maker David Carsenson's pronunciation of "Skarloey" is something to be questioned...
Big thank you to Dan for writing this lovely pastiche on the Talyllyn Documentary "Railway with a Heart of Gold" and Eric for the wonderful music, which you can listen to here; • Skarloey Railway + Rai...

It's only a little way down to the ground - but it does go directly onto the NWR mainline so those slate trucks are 100% dead.

@@ExplosiveCookie did you base the little accident at the transfer siding on the real one that happened on the TR in pre preservation times? I understand that the slate trucks fell on to the standard gauge railway because there was no buffers at the end of the narrow gauge track.

Thanks so much haha, I went with Scacaloey as in "Railway with a Heart of Gold" the narrator keeps saying Talyllyn wrong. The origin of "Scacaloey" can be read about in "The Thomas the Tank Engine Man" book - it's a name that George and Wilbert Awdry thought of when developing the Skarloey.
