Enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing your modelling.
That's a great looking outcome! I've built a Eduard 110 in the past and ran into the gap issues you touched on. Keep up the great work and model on!

👍👍Good to know I didn't get the 1 defective kit out there lol. That gap still annoys me...for such a simple part, it shouldn't have been so difficult.
Beautiful work, Good Sir!! I have always liked the Bf-110 and it's so nice to see it so lovingly constructed and finished by masterful hands. Thank-you.
Nice build and great video! :) And it is great and refreshing that you share all of your mistakes with us :)

I actually find the mistakes to be highly entertaining to watch...there will be more in future videos lol
At last...a subject I don't need a microscope for...........but then you do the most challenging of the antennae options! Even the simpler version gives me nightmares! Superb job on the rest..........very effective cockpit and very nice paint / weathering. Not overstated, just right!

Stunning outcome. I've got one of these in the stash, I get it out from time to time, then put it back as it seems to require a serious time consideration to do it justice. Plus I hate that Eduard don't fully think through the construction processess. No locating pins etc. Honestly, that Radar array gives me nightmares. Fat fingers don't cover it. I'm amazed you got it to stick on the front so well, looks like a slight wind would knock it free.
Magnificent build. Awesome masterpiece, in every detail! Greetings for you from Guatemala, The Land of Quetzal Bird, Símbol of Freedom.

Enjoyed watching the build, thanks ... One thing though, it would've been great to see how you tackled the poorly fitting engine nacelles ... with some frustration I'd imagine! 😄

I thought it would be a quick sand and fill....but no. lol. Its still similar to filling the seam line on a fuselage and then re-scribing the panel lines....just took a lot more tries with the filling and sanding to make it look good.
That was a nice build. I always thought the Bf-110 was a beautiful airplane. I'm really starting to like 1:48 scale. Btw, thank you for apply the swastika's on the vertical stabilizers for historical accuracy. So many modeler's purposely leave them off.

I either use Tamiya grey putty or some homemade sprue glue. The sprue glue is a little tougher to sand, but I think it does a better job of eliminating tough seams.
it looked complicated but turned out to be an awesome build. as a fellow model maker ( cause i build model aircraft myself) i`m impressed what skill level was it. i`m at skill level 3 myself but i am thinking of trying a skill level 4 soon any helpful tip on how handle a skill level 4. any tips would be very much appreciated keep them coming.✈🛩

Thank you. My advice, buy a newer kit since it will have better tooling/details and be less frustrating right out of the box. The parts just fit better. Watch videos, read articles and blogs...but just go for a level 4 kit. Building them over and over is the best way to improve.

How long should you typically let a wash dry?
@ScaleModelAssassin
Жыл бұрын
It depends. An oil wash will be different than an enamel wash. Also, do you mean before you wipe the wash away, or before you clear coat over it? I mostly use oil washes and wait anywhere from 15 min - a few days before I wipe it away. Theres a lot of flexibility with timing on oil washes which is one of the reasons I like it. Its really slow to dry and I probably clear coat it a few days after I wipe it away. I dont think its fully dry even then, but its dry enough and the clear coat still goes on fine.
Talking a about german propellers, recently a friend told me that were made with wood.

Not all blades were wood it depends on the aitmrcraft and also date of manufacture you should do your research before you go put chips on them.
I think all modellers knows the pain of not having a pencil sharpener 😂

sad thing is my wife gave me a pencil sharpener we had all along and I didn't even know about lol
hello :) I just ordered this kit and I haven't done much photo etch. It appears that you are using white glue to attach the pe cockpit gauges, is that correct? I have CA glue but I would rather use white glue if I can. Thanks for the great build video :) Liked and subscribed.
@ScaleModelAssassin
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Correct I used white glue. Gives more time to position the part and you can clean up any excess with water. It's strong enough to hold the gauges in place too

what is the theory behind the decal film? what benefit does it offer? why don't we see this on say cartograph decals?
@ScaleModelAssassin
Жыл бұрын
I think the film is there to help hold the decal together/ protect the ink. Removing it helps eliminate the issue of decal silvering. HGW has been selling decals like this for a while and their website can probably explain it better than me.
The "keine Bombe" was marked on the drop tanks because they usually were dropped over friendly territory and they wanted to recover them. Having the populace afraid of the things falling out of the sky was not helpful.
