Gabby Douglas was treated like gold after her 1st win. She was everywhere and had endorsements. It was the road to her title defense when things began to fall apart. Her family went crazy with the celebrity paying not enough attention to priming Gabby to compete at the top of her sport. They got in her way doing tv reality shows & a lot of other foolishness. Gabby had competition snapping at her heels & became really sloppy at meets from being undertrained. Marta really wanted her on that team due to her great talent. She got Gabby up to par.

@@ctruth6185 She was treated pretty badly from what I saw. Her hair all the way down to what she wore was clowned and was talked about horribly. Her teammates (Aly & Simone) treated her badly in 2016 and how the media portrayed her was terrible. I understand why she rarely mentions gymnastics nowadays and I understand why. The information is out there and I couldn’t believe what Simone said about her on that podcast. Everything is coming back full circle and I’m glad she is doing ok now.

gives her all for her country and wins gold for the US and then people attack her on twitter for standing upright and straight rather than put her hand over her heart. She's done more to honor her country and make it proud than any of those internet shitstains.

Gabby Douglas's star didn't shine as brightly due to her clingy, grasping, pushy, showbiz mother. The woman was a total turnoff. The way she promoted & handled her daughter's career wasn't befitting an Olympic champion. It became too much about Ms. Mom not Gabby. Gabby didn't take full control of her gymnastics training her mother nearly ruined her career. Gabby had beautiful form and powerful amplitude.

I really love her, her form is great. She is an inspiration, to everyone, not just gymnasts, she is so lovable, cheerful, she works so hard for what she thrives for. I wish I could meet her.

She's better now than in 2012 I think. She's matured and so much more confident. Good for her. I don't know why the media feels the need to put so much pressure on her now with the comeback. She's doing great and as long as she is happy and achieving her goals the rest is not important. Good luck to her!

Gabby is not a better gymnast in 2016. It is not just better gymnasts, but her difficulty is down. If she was a better gymnast, she would have soared above Aly into 2nd. Because 1st was not realistic for her with Simone Biles. There is no longer a perfect 10. Scores are on D/E. Gabby's D start is lower and her floor exercise was meh. In 2012 she had a higher D start and she delivered a better execution. If Gabby had at least the same difficulty all around she would have narrowed the distance between her and Aly. However, Aly not only stepped up her difficulty, but she stepped up execution. Gabby came to Rio with a shorter margin for error because of having so many others fighting for the #2. She did well and still a great gymnast, but the reality is not in feelings, but the numbers.

My family was never able to pay for lessons, so I taught myself the basics.The Gabby Douglas Story inspired me to teach myself more. Gabby is the inspiration of my life!

I love her coaches! So different from the psychopaths that I've seen coaching the other girls.

This is such a super great report about Gabby's personality from her coaches. One can actually feel the positivity from her towards her teammates. Well done Gabby, you certainly are an inspiration for up and coming young gymnast

I go to buckeye and I want to treat her like a normal girl but I cried when I found out that she went to my gym because she has an absolutely amazing personality and I One day be a lot like her personality wise and gymnastic wise she just seems like a wonderfull amazing person

I’m in grad school and this inspired me to just be the best I can be. Gaby is truly an inspiration for all.

the gabby douglas story was my fav movie and i bought her book when i was like 7 and i don’t even do gymnastics i just thought she was so courageous and strong

I love her coaches!! They seem reasonable calm and down to earth unlike the psychopaths that a lot of the other gymnast have had to endure.

seriously though, last night i was watching old gymnastics vids and stumbled on the stories of julissa gomez and elena mukhina for the first time...holy s***. there are no words. gymnastics are amazing, and winning is awesome, but at the end of the day these are still little girls. tough-as-nails little girls, sure, but still just kids.

If Gabby gets her Amanar back, she should be second in the All Around with no questions. Without it, I think it will be easier for someone strong to catch her. Either way, Gabby is strong and I believe she is a lock for the Olympic team without any doubt! Love myself some Gabby Douglas😏

I saw one of these types of video with gymnasts and their life, after I watched that I binged watched all of these videos❤️❤️

My aunt made it to the finals of the olympic trials at 16 than she didn't make it D: she quit because she just wanted to be a kid again she was training 8 hours a day

i love gabby because of her i found my love for gymnastics and after i watched her movie i learned how to do a back handspring and i wasn't even in gymnastics

I wonder what her coach Kittia now honestly thinks of Gabby. It has to be a punch to the gut to be weeks away from the Olympics and have Gabby tell you she doesn't want you beside her in Rio. She has been through a lot of coaches in her career & since 2012.

If she's to be believed, Kittia stated she's all for the coaching change because the "new" coach is actually the one who has been training her on a daily basis for most of her time at Buckeye.

It has nothing to do with her not liking Kittia. At the Olympics you can only have one coach in the arena with you and Christian was the only one who could accurately spot her on bars so she chose him.

$$$...cant imagine what it must be like for someone that young to all of a sudden be in the position she was in then; looking to get bk at it, but having to be so careful bc everyone is gonna have their habds out for the $ & fame. Just my opinion. She is incredible. She looked amazing in Rio!!!!

She’s talented she’s been through a lot I’m glad she was as successful as she is

i really wish that the 2 per country rule wouldn't be enforced in the all-around. gabby was 3rd overall and was left out of a chance at competing for a medal in rio. i really think she had a great shot at bronze or silver, and since there are 24 all around spots, it's not as selective as an event finals where I guess the 2 per country rule makes more sense

Good luck! But don't get hurt - the risks gymnastics requires put your life at risk, and it's not worth it if you end up paralyzed.
