@God Almighty Well put! DDP is such a godsend for those fellas. And it's not from a self serving place either. He sure does care about his fallen brothers, a shining light on the path of human darkness. DDP should be hired by Vince to take care of talent... someone like him could change how the WWE is now seen, by those who know the history of neglect by the owners of wrestling organizations.

Nobody is Supposed to Kick out of your Finisher, That's why it's called a Finisher. Wrestlers Finishers was Alot more Protected back then and you had to have Permission from the Wrestler themselves or The Promoter had to Talk the Wrestler into it. Nowadays Bookers say they kick out, They Kick Out. You can talk to the Promoter all you want but if the Promoter agrees with the Booker then you have to make your Peace with it and just Hope you Win the Match, Also of which you have No Control. Btw if Jake Roberts came back Today, Nobody would kick out of his DDT because it's the Original and you don't treat the Original like a Common DDT. You could kick out of 99 DDT's in a Row but Jake puts his Finisher on you, You best Not get up unless told to in the back.

DDT was a pesticide that was commonly used in the Vietnam War, to fight off mosquitoes and other pests that were by the swamps. The Vietnam War was special because it wasn't the Vietnamese Army that beat the US Army, it was literally just the Terrain. Also people were using that stuff in their homes to wipe out all the Cockroaches and other pests according to history the stuff worked wonders, but due to the contact it would have with little kids and people who had mentally challenged issues it literally killed them, so that's why it was banded.

Watched this guy lift a wheelchair bound fan into a van after a meet and greet a few years ago. It was in the back and I'd snuck out for a cheeky cigarette through the fire doors with a mate. We'd been chatting to Jake earlier and he sold us on buying some tshirts (which I still have!). There was no one around and no cameras and Jake went above and beyond to make some fans with less mobility very happy. Great entertainer, great man.

There were several stories as to exact details of how the DDT came about but general agreement is that Jake was in the middle of a long match with "The Grappler" Len Denton in Louisiana in early summer, Louisiana in early summer the heat and humidity is felt 24/7 and the two wrestlers were sweating even before they hit the ring. About halfway through the match Jake put Grappler in a front headlock but the two were so wet they accidentally tripped with Jake falling backwards with Grappler still in the headlock. As the two were looking to get back up they noticed the fans at ringside went dead silent, apparently thinking Jake did the move deliberately, he and Grappler looked at each other and went "You see this? We gotta do that again!". And thus an accidental trip became the most copied move in wrestling history.
