Norma Shearer won an Oscar for "The Divorcee", her ground-breaking movie that highlighted the double standard: men could play the field while women must take it and remain pure.

I have seen this movie so many times, it’s one of my all-time favorites. I’m a big Joan Crawford fan, but everyone in this is great.

I love this movie I have it on dvd. I also like another movie that has Jean Harlow in it called Saratoga.

Thaks for the informative video. I love how The Women (and other pictures from the era) eschews the notion that men can't tell women's stories. Also, I don't think the ending has a problematic moral, it shows a woman taking back what is hers, and shredding those who harmed her in the process.

No it doesn’t, it was based on a play written by a woman, Clare Booth Luce, and adapted for the screen by 2 more women, Anita Loos and Jane Murfin.
