Beyond The Divide: Welcome to Missoula

Фильм және анимация

What makes Missoula such a special place? What was that huge peace symbol on the mountainside about? In BTD: Welcome to Missoula local residents share why they call Missoula home.
Minnesota filmmaker Jan Selby didn't know what to expect the first time she visited for the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. She quickly became enamored with Missoula, its residents, and the peace sign on the hill enough to tell just one of the town's intimate stories.

I stayed in missoula 3 years ago, then I backed to my country. I always can’t forget the peaceful life in Missoula . I’ve travelled many cities around the world, but Missoula is definitely the best one for me, every time I work so tired, memories about Missoula always encourages me to hold on, cause so that one day I can move to Missoula to live ASAP. If someone here who is now living in Missoula , I’d appreciate that you contact me , let me know more about Missoula .

Lets hope that all the people currently moving from California, Oregon, Washington and other blue states understand that their political and cultural decisions had them move away from their states and into states like Montana and Idaho. Hopefully they don't repeat the process and take away those last great places from the true freedom lovers.

When I go to Missoula I go as native born 3rd generation to visit Mom and family. Raised close to and around there before spending a bit more than 20-years in the military and serving in the DoD for some more it is hard to go back because of job. I go into that 'Blue' spot and look at my ancestors homestead and namesake McCauley Butte and I'm proud to provide a little 'red' spot irritation. Still. Missoula is a nice town or city or whatever. But the true beauty is in the hills and valleys all around it.

There is history here but we dont want you here and we will make it known. Stop pushing locals out. Stop making it out to be a paradise when locals are suffering and being pushed out.

The people are more real also the traffic in Missoula is awfull. I don't see why anyone who wants to see what Montana is like would ever go to Missoula. If you all want to see the real Montana go visit places like Lewistown or Thompson Falls , Fort Benton or Conrad , Small towns out in the sticks is the real Montana not some university town full of outsiders.
