Our ambassador Pierre Lopez, accomplished lifeguard and waterman, has decided to set out on a prone paddleboard on one of the longest stretches of water in the world… the Celtic Crossing! Almost 52 kilometres propelled only by the strength of one’s arms between the Isles of Scilly archipelago and England.
Between the Isles of Scilly, located 50 km to the southwest of ‘Land’s End’ and Sennen Cove, lies one of the most dangerous, hostile and busiest stretches of ocean in the world. Treacherous currents and sudden changes in weather that can occur on this stretch of water, added to the fact that the crossing follows one of the busiest shipping routes in Europe, make this one of the most daring open ocean courses in the world.
