Honestly, I find it pretty interesting that each variation of a X bey can differ in many ways (an example being phoenix feather being weaker than wing, and Dran dagger being able to do multiple x dashes unlike sword)

This is why i love X in real life. Every bey has its strengths and weaknesses, depending on its parts, which makes the game about your launch and the match up.

I'm personally still partial to the idea that blader's have one bey, one partner, since that feels more personal and special to me when beys had spirits/bit-beasts, but I appreciate the new take. It makes sense, with the focus on competitive gameplay (both in the story and irl), that beys are seen as sports equipment and are changed out situationally. I get it: different story, different perspective. Still, while I see the utility of that mindset, my heart still lies with my child self in viewing the beys as partners rather than tools.

The idea of the tops themselves being partners was always kind of dumb though, at best it was the bit beast bit part or the screw in Metal Fury that had the spirit in it. Changing out every other parts should have been a regular thing.

I really appreciate this explanation dude! I sometimes countered with people that keep saying these new beys like dagger, chain, and also wing are evolutions. I guess they havent watch the anime or read the manga about the beys but yes i do appreciate this video to clear out all the misunderstanding about these beys. Keep up the good work dude🔥

I interpret this basically as Beyblade X being a MMO or MOBA game where you use the same character, but put different builds on it to provide different effects and playstyle. For example, DranSword is basically a Dragon with a Sword. DranDagger is basically a Dragon with Knives. Which is a fun way to make beys.

The idea kind of reminds me of Drums approach up until he created imperial dragon.

I never understood in past Beyblade generations why the characters were stuck with an evolution essentially abandoning their old Bey. I get in cases of a bey breaking they would get new parts, but that trope has been over used especially in Burst. I am glad they're leaning more into the Right Tool for the job instead of using the same bey and winning through their fighting spirit, it makes the characters feel more real since that's how Beyblade X is played out IRL. We as players may love a particular bey but we have multiple combos for different situations, and its past time that the story for Beyblade match the real world especially if they want it to be a real sport.

tbh I like'd drums idea of having parts for attack, stamina, and defense, it made him a bit more well-rounded as a blader to me.

It's a way better approach for everyone involved. Little children don't have to buy the newest beys to play anymore making many younger players and players that aren't rich stick around since they can still compete for fun and the more competitive side has to constantly buy replacement parts for optimisation leading to more sales for TT. Collectors get way more beys as well and the manga/anime doesn't need to introduce a new character every 20 seconds and can build on side characters and make them appear multiple times in a season. It's imo the greatest change BeyBlade has gone through and I dearly hope that they will stick with it and continue to reinvent themselves with new gimmicks and good distribution instead of power creep and random booster milking. If Hasbro manages to get the X releases right and well distributed, we've got another banger era in our hands that we haven't had since the Metal series or Burst God

I hated when people called DranDagger an evolution of DranSword. They are not. They have different uses. And in tournaments, behave differently

I like the comparison to a different type of sports equipment. It made me think of it like it would be a baseball player just using a different bat depending on what they were trying to do

I like the idea of Sidegrades/Variants. It at least makes the original version still viable when its needed, instead of being tossed aside for its upgraded version. Its not about the upgrades, its now the match-up

It’s kinda like Pokémon in a sense that you have other options to use in battle. I like this take in direction.

I really like what X is doing in breaking old tropes. It feels like the franchise itself is evolving

I really like this concept and direction they are going with this generation. I'm interested to see what they are going to do next.

I think it’s awesome beys don’t evolve as of right now, situational reasons aside we get more variations of our favourite beys without waiting for seasons to pass in the show

It's not like the new bey become successor of the previous bey, the both coexist and usable for a different situation. Also Beyblade x doesn't have fantasy genre yet, so bey the has no spirit or soul, so varient of same bey can exist at the same time.

Personally, I would have still preferred if KnightLance, DranDagger, and HellsChain had separate motifs instead of being a variant of a previous bey. It would have made them feel more unique since they already feel quite unique from the Beys they were based off of. That little nitpick aside, this is honestly the best way they could have handled this, and it's honestly a breath of fresh air. Like I said, these variants still feel like their own unique beys that have their own strengths and weaknesses over their earlier counterparts. It's far more interesting than just making a direct evolution to a Bey that's either entirely superior to their previous version or a direct evolution to a Bey that attempts to be superior but ends up being a gimmicky mess. No, I am not over how dirty Hyperion Burn and Dangerous Belial were done. XP

I love that there are no evolutions in this generation (so far). It makes all the Variants unique and they aren’t overshadowing each other with new releases. They all have a role to play in the metagame and in the story.

So are still going to get an evolution every season because that’s tradition even though Beyblade X has been breaking a lot of traditions it can’t break this one. Other than that it makes sense when compared to burst and metal (idk about plastic), that the older beys just disappear. And from the other perspective it’s actually funny as Spriggan crying in the corner 😂

Plastic gen had evolutions. especially for the main characters and recurring characters.

So it’s sort of like Pokemon where people have multiple beys and they use one when they feel like it’s more suited for the battle

I assume they’ll evolve by reaching whatever this X thing is that Chrome and Burn are talking about

It's similar to Drum in GT, with Ace/Grand/Rock, but better written

So then if I am understanding this, then all bladers will basically be expanding their arsenals as the series goes on. I like that too.

I'll still call them evos out of habit, but I see what you mean. The old Beys still remain in the character's kit instead of being overwritten out of existence. It could lead to dumb things in Burst, such as Belial evolving into a far worse version of itself (Dynamite to Divine). X is seemingly trying to be a more "accurate" representation of competitive Beyblade. I use these quotes loosely, I haven't actually read or watched X at all.

Personally I think it is a good idea in regards to actually playing it but I prefer them to evolve in the anime/manga

Feather is designed as a tool to ship to the masses in order for people to get use to the speed for when he uses wing. Not an evolution. Basically just a “look at me” tactic.
