"leads new wave" meaning in his own style of rap. It's pretty much saying there's a sub-genre that bexey is contributing to. Everybody from UK getting mad cause they think he's trying to act like he's the best outta there. If you listen to the interview he just expresses that starting off he didn't get a lot of support locally, but he seems proud of where he's from. Nothing really wrong with that
