I remember one episode was about the Deadly Sins with my friends and laughed so hard when the Elephant Seal was known as the most greedy of animals. Reality Subtext: There exists a theory that the only reason this movie was successful, both financially and with audiences, was the fact that it's theatrical run coincided with the 2008 economic recession, and that audiences at the time just wanted to see a silly, feel-good movie to take their minds off of it.

Okay so Dog fights. In dog fights they have something called a "Bait Dog" this is an animal to be torn to pieces to make the other dogs mad or "blood thirsty" She was most likely added as such.

For Chole in the dog fight: they use small dogs as ‘bait dogs’. The bigger dogs are taught to kill any other dog, so the little ones are used as an easy kill to keep their ‘attack’ up. There’s cases everywhere of people’s dogs getting kidnapped just to be literally ripped apart

Oh God... I doged a bullet by staying childess. Although I can't help but sympathize. Mate of mine had a pet cockatoo named jojo. He was an asshole. He’d bite at your toes when you’re napping on the couch or crap on your pillow, the worst was when he’d call your name out in the dead of night. He felt cheeky one 3am, housemate Damo worked long shifts and was dead asleep. “DAMO!” a shrill shriek. “DAAMMOOOO!” Again. Damo gets outta bed, goes to the living room, in his dacks, a sorry sight. “WHAT, Jojo!?” Silence. “Jojo. What the fuck you want?” “You’re a fuckhead!” And he’s laughing, and dancing, he’s proud of himself. Damo went back to his bedroom. Into his bedside drawer. Slaps the magazine in a .40 s&w. Someone commented that they usually send in a "bait dog" to turn on the killing mode on the other dogs... like that makes it any better.

11-Year-Old me in 2011 never would've thought NC would start reviewing movies from my childhood.

I was forced to watch this as a child at my grandmas house. This movie was terrible, but my sisters loved it.

@@kimifw58 weren't they supposed to just copyright the title "Day of the dead" or something so that other movies won't have the same name? That's why its called Coco because it was originally titled Day of the Dead or something. But copyrighting a word especially on a holiday name from a different country still sucks

OI!!! Billy Joel's dog character was Great...... I think....... (Honestly I do remember a bit of it and remember liking it......)

I used to be obsessed with this movie franchise when I was younger although I was obsessed with any movie with dogs, it always annoyed me when I was smaller that small dogs were always a protagonist and the big dogs were always the antagonists Edit: I just realised how off track I went

13:00 it’s because they cut out most of the “finding my inner Aztec warrior chihuahua” subplot and needed something to fill time.

Chloe being pitted against El Diablo was indented to make Diablo look "good", like a wrestler taking down a no name to look badass. I've never been to a dog fight.

9:00 Small explanation, although I’m sure the critic knows. They picked up Chloe and threw her into the dog fights because she’s a bait dog, a dog small and weak that’s used as fodder as an opening example in most dog fighting rinks. It’s to give El Diablo the taste of bloodshed and get ready to kill the next dog after her.

Strange to think that this forgettabely dated flick is 12 years ago already

I find this movie incredibly unforgettable. I mean, at some point I remember every movie I've seen, even the most elusive ones. Stuart Little, Kelly's Heroes, Cat's & Dogs, The Road to El Dorado, The Great Mouse Detective, The Andromeda Effect, We're Back A Dinosaur's Tale, and just about every movie you forgot or never saw. But this movie, even if I am reminded of its existence the day before, the next day it goes one ear out the other. Beverly Hills Chihuahua has 0% memorabilia and replay value. I rest my case.

I would've expected the Mary Poppins song "Let's go Fly a kite" to play.

'Why can't you smell, what happened?' *I shot a kid* That made me laugh more than it should have.

Thank you for the Red Cross shout out! A number of my friends have lost their homes and had to relocate and it's wonderful to see people everywhere helping out.

Nostalgia Critic: The live action Lion King Sucked because real animals have no visible emotions. Also Nostalgia Critic: These real dogs are clearly miserable.

You know, animals actually can suffer from PTSD, depression etc, so the idea that they could lose a sense due to trauma isn't super far fetched. I'm not trying to give the movie credit, I'm just trying to inform people so something came out of it.

Uh- Some dogs are put into pits to just be mauled. Like, a warm up

4:09 to 4:15 This makes me laugh so much. This is such a Jontron or caddicarus style of joke that seeing NC pulling it off just kills me with laughter every single time. XD

SoulEraser, if that was the case then why doesn’t Mexico just give the profits to archaeologists, so that way Ancient civilizations can be studied, and we can see what the living conditions in Ancient Mexico to now as well as the profits from archaeologists can go to Mexicans in Mexico, so that way they don’t live in a third world country.
