This would be my biggest worry with the procedure and I’d be concerned about doing any leg exercises or martial arts after it.

The original girth of your leg bone is conserved doing limb-lengthening Naturally and the bone heals with absolutely no scars. Note also that taller people don't necessarily have thicker leg bones; Yet you dont see them casually breaking in two. Your femur is stronger than steal and 4times stronger than concrete, which is why even grossly obese people are able to stand and walk without their leg bones collapsing.

@SANKET CHARBHE I really appreciate your thoughts and some of the important topic that you posted about are extremely on another level but just think about that In terms of science 1.If we had this procedure then why we couldn't get it done? © Another point to be noted that's if we get it done then after 1.5 years our bones will be as strong as it were before because ( bone will pass through the same remodeling phase as our toungue too pass when get cut through our teeth and becomes as stronger as they were before) over all our let's say femur which is the strongest bone in our body and it is 4 times stronger than a same dimensional steel and it need max 10^8 Pascal of Force to break it( just imagine about the force needed to break it) so over all our body will adapt and will customize it as the condition needed to become as active as we were before. That's why getting it done isn't a problem Again it's depend upon and individual mind set. Bye the way I have seen you commenting about the height issue about 80-90% of the video related to height I have watched uptil now. 🙂

The Betzbone has become obsolete with the introduction of the precise stryde. With stryde you seem to get the benefit of full weight bearing however without the twisting motion needed for the betzbone to engage the mechanism inside the nail. Stryde uses magnets and an external device which can lengthen and also in emergency cases where complications are noted it can reverse the lengthening for quick intervention purposes.

You can definitely get 5 cm on femurs and 5 on tibia, but with two separate surgeries, a second surgery after finishing the first lengthening procedure. Believe me it is incredibly painful and difficult to have all four bones operated in one surgery. There is a higher risk of something going wrong in the post-surgery period.

You also need to take into account of the fact that Asian countries are less obsessed with height compared to Americans. Its mostly a western, Eurocentric preference, evidenced by the studies done on tribes far away from western media bias. As an Asian who immigrated to America, one of my greatest culture shock was in realizing how shallow and materialistic this society was. Lookism is very much a thing shown through many recent studies. Why do you think racism is a huge issue in America? Because too many people are focused on phenotypic differences even though we all are the same human race.

@@Dah42 Everything i stated so far is corroborated by evidence. Facts are facts, you should acknowledge your countries problems instead of being annoyed about it because that's the only way society can do something to change it. If people are reluctant to even acknowledge a problem exists and go whataboutism with other countries issues, there's not going to be any change. People need to self reflect on themselves when people outside their cultures highlight their issues. No country is perfect, I would happily accept the problems in my country when someone points them out but I'm pretty sure height isn't one compared to what's seen in America. I didn't claim Asian countries have no preference for tall height at all, but in comparison to American women's obsession with height, it very much pales in comparison. Also, the article you linked is talking only about East Asians. I'm from India, and its more common to see couples of the same height there, whereas in America its a rare sight. This isn't just my experience, literally any expat like me who has travelled and lived around the world would agree that its a shared experience of being shocked by American women's obsession. Even people from South America, Australia, other parts of Europe are stumped by women's obsession with height. I have friends in Netherlands ( that has the tallest men and women), and Eastern Europe and even there tall women/short men combination is more common. The ones I dated as well as shown interest in me where also from European countries regardless of my short height. You simply don't have enough evidence to gaslight the shared experiences of millions of people like me.

  • @amputeemarksman

This is ridiculous. I went through a similar procedure using an external device after a serious accident. They had to remove a piece of bone and they used a lengthening procedure applying the same basic principles as this to "grow" the bone back so my legs would be the same length. There are many issues not addressed in this video and the chances of serious infection and the body rejecting the hardware are high. Why anyone would subject themselves to this voluntarily is beyond me.

I bet they don't tell you that the places on the bone where they drill the holes for the device will never heal quite right. That you can suffer from bone spurs growing at those sights that can break the skin (in the case of the tibia), cause infection and in also require surgery later to resolve. I bet they also don't tell you that your tendons will be stretched resulting in weakness later on. You won't know until you slip on a wet walkway or something like that and blow out your quad resulting in more surgery and months of rehab. All I am saying is that I don't understand why anyone would voluntarily subject themselves to this procedure and then pay six figures to do it.

When i was 2 years my parents choose to have my left leg amputated from the knee below so that i could walk with a below the knee prosthetic leg. Now as an adult my left thigh (above the knee) is still significantly shorter than my right thigh . this difference means that my prosthetic leg (below the knee) is a lot longer than my right leg (below the knee). You are able to walk without crutches from the first day for shorter distances. But with growing length, you will not walk quite normally, it will be a bit stiff. The better you do stretching exercises and walking, training in the gym etc. the better will be your walking and the less other people will notice.
