Between The Lies - (WW2 Short Film)

Фильм және анимация

During World War II, a British SOE agent is sent undercover into occupied rural France to retrieve explosives and deliver them to resistance fighters in Lyon. Her objective is complicated however, and she is forced to rely on the assistance of a wounded German soldier, who is headed in the same direction as she is.

I play it because I like the gameplay but I get mad very quickly and a surprisingly large portion of that is that there are women fighting. I'm really enjoying the many WWII short films made by the younger generation. It's important to keep memories of the war, however horrible, alive. The WWI generation is just about gone, all of my uncles and my father, who fought in WWII are all gone, and I grew up on stories about the war. It was a generation of great people who did their very best on the home-front as well as the front lines. These films are important and this was a very good one. Attention to detail was very good as well, the actress in particular. Thank you.

I am a 96 year old Vet from Pacific navy war. My dad was in France in WW1. I have a U.S. half-dollar dated 1916, which I value as a touchstone, to that period of history. Also similar coins dated to the Great Depression, and WW2, periods I lived thru and remember well. They are my connection to historic times.

The Volkswagen Kübelwagen was used by the Germans in WW2 which was the equivalent to the American Jeep. It also would probably would have run out of gas before they got there. It's also much louder than walking on foot so she probably didn't want to take the chance of someone spotting them.

Flat 14 Productions its great! really well made, nice job!, the acting was great! the only problem i have is the plane that flew over head at the begining, dropped some bombs, and they went off, those bombs should have killed the germans, or almost all of them, when those bombs go off like that, shrapenel and other metals fly out in all directions killing or serriously wounding any person with in range, and they were clearly in range, so close actually that the impact of those bombs going off should have blown them apart. but other than that it was awesome!

I love this short film! Its kinda sad because it could have been a story of how enemies at the end can get along and work together to meet a common goal. but it sadly have to end on a bad note by saying that even if your enemy is in need of help, they are still your enemy. It could have been a touching story. But it was truthful and had a really hard message. It really made me feel bad for everyone involved in the war.

Thank you to everyone again for the amazing amount of support, it's overwhelming. For BTS, check out our new breakdown video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d4ab2KevZ6nFgag.html Also just wanted to address an issue we've noticed in several comments questioning the use of a female 'soldier'. Our protagonist is a fictional member of the British Special Operations Executive, which did employ women and deploy them in the field to act as spies. The fact that so many people are unaware these people existed is precisely why we wanted to include her in our film. And yes, this would still be categorised as a 'short' film by most institutions :)

I wished EA did that with there female character or put her as a Russian Sniper or a Night Witch not a 16 year old girl who is able to kill 90% of the fucking the German army including tge like SS! The SS was the German equivalent of Delta or Seal Team but a 16 year old girl is able to kill a whole convoy of them! Plus she and her mother stopping the Nazis heavy water for nukes! That is a insult to the Norwegian Commandos who actually did it! But in the game the operations failed so two women practically killed two SS divisions and maybe 3 Army divisions by then selfs and sink a Uboat with a grenade!

I see so many who feel sorry for the German, regret it wasn't a love story or that they didn't become friends. He wasn't her friend, he used her, led her to a trap and behind her back called the reinforcements. He pretended to be nice and sweet and it's good she didn't fall for it. That is what happens when you help a snake, it will bite you at the end.

I love this short film, although, I do think that this could have been portrayed way better if the lead was a Russian woman, the U.K. and France did conscript women but it was a rare sight, I think this would have worked better even if it was a Canadian soldier or Australian because they had allowed women volunteer forces, Canada had volunteer forces before the war had even began, Australia had started excepting woman volunteers from the early 40s for lack of men to fight, sorry if i'm looking into this a little much, but that's besides the point. This is a great short film that shows that not all Germans were Nazis, this short film has to be one of the best I've seen. Great work!

The British trained spies from many countries. Their accents were right-something a Brit had a hard time perfecting in limited training time.

There's a few from ParaLight WoX, their WWII short films are about the Germans and they're pretty nice.

What a rollercoaster ride full of action from the outset, followed by an intriguing story full of lies and deceit. I was emotionally invested in the story and felt the game could have been up at any moment. They could have almost become friends at one point. But ended tragically instead with the young soldier's life being taken.
