Dan Briggs is fuckin badass!

That's debatable imo. U could argue instrumentaly dt and haken are better or even periphery. But yes btbam rank quite high along with the other.
..Just as flawless in Philly in October 2013. This is the hardest working band in America. 2k views is a joke, but I think this type of genius is only meant to be enjoyed by a few, rather than by the masses.
Between the buried and me is like the pink Floyd of metal basically

J-Rod Musik Honestly id say more like Queen, How many people listened to Bohemian Rhapsody the first time and said "Holy shit the is the greatest thing ever" probably more like "this is the weirdest shit ever". Btbam is very similar in my eyes, It takes time to for the music click into your head before you start to see it as a conceptual masterpiece. Although yea definitely lots of pink Floyd influence! but if I were to compare them to a band it would be Queen!

Can’t wait to see this live June 20th fan of this band since 2002.
Briggs is always so hyper, it's awesome.
best live band ever of all time forever and ever
I love how much Blake scaled down, and I think he sounds better! How he can be sooo creative with basic set (more cymbals obviously and a 3rd tom and maybe a 4th(?)) is beyond me. All of these guys have crazy memory to play an ENTIRE 70 plus minute mammoth of an album AND White Walls just for kicks. Clearly the top of the food chain in modern music, not just metal.
The segue from The Black Box to Telos gets me every time. It's such brilliant burst of energy
Holy crap, I can't wait for the high-def DVD!

one of the greatest musical performances in history.
The Parallax is one of the best things i have ever heard period. The narrative of these albums are just straight incredible
I always take the keys for granted, they add so much to so many sections in this album
I saw them in Cleveland, but I will never forget this tour. The club we were in was closing after this show. Between seeing my all-time favorite album be played along with the intensity of the locals moshing their goodbyes to a 70+yr old club, it was just fucking intense. Best musical experience of my life that probably can't be replicated.
They played the whole opus without missing a note. Amazing. This is one of my favourite albums, thank you for recording it in its entirety :)

Colors isn't even their best work anymore imo. Everything after is a lot better. The Great Misdirect and Parallax 1 are my favorite releases from them.
I wasn't a biggest fan of this album at first, but it has grown on me lately. I think the "weird" parts, like "Bloom", are more structured than weird parts in previous albums. I also feel as if Dan had more of a role, or at least his presence his more apparent in this album, which is always appreciated.
@kiefdemon1979
9 жыл бұрын
It's more of an obvious presence now. Dan has written so much that Paul and Dusty got credit for like the intro to Ants of the Sky, also same with Tommy. Dan wrote all of bloom but everyone assumes it was Tommy and Paul. The fact that most of Dan's writing for btbam has been on everything but bass is insane. He writes all his bass parts but throws hella guitar parts at Paul and Dusty and keys to Tommy. He wrote all the brass and wind instruments for this album and conducted them while they recorded it. Dan truly is the man.

I was blessed enough to see them live about 6-7 times through the Alaska to Great Misdirect era. I have not seen them live since but they are about the tightest fucking band that ever existed. Everything about their music is just amazing.

I really need to see them again! Saw them at Summer Slaughter a couple of years ago and they were flawless.
It must be awesome for these guys to know that their music is considered relatively obscure, and to still have an entire room of people singing along note for note and word for word in powerful anthemic unison. What a rush that must be. These guys rule. Can't wait to see them with Meshuggah in Denver on Monday.
They killed it Worcester, MA on the same tour. Such a great band.
17:38... geez that concluding solo section countering the first earlier one. Just masterful. DVD SummER! wu-tang!

Jesse Bowles I'm an "Ants of the Sky" guy myself, but I totally hear ya bro. 39:52 to 42:35 is definitely the most brutal metal movement in P2:FS. They played Telos on 6/4/14 at the House of Blues San Diego and there was blood...When I'm in the pit There. Will. Always. Be. Blood.

BTBAM is the best band in this galaxy. I wonder what type of shit people rock out to in Andromeda? Every other heavy band pales in comparison, but I bet they could make the best soft rock album too if they wanted to.
Rush and Queen meets death metal and metal core.
It really drives me insane when the whole crowd starts clapping and instantly goes out of sync with the song. I feel like this happens at least 3 times at every btbam show. Bleh...
