Better than CAVENDISH 🏖️ THIS is the BEST BEACH in PEI 🇨🇦 CANADA

Locals know Cavendish may be the most popular beach in PEI but it's by far NOT the best.
Basin Head Provincial Park has a much better beach. The sand is soft, the current isn't as strong. It's better for kids and it's close to the PEI ferry.
Basin Head is a very popular beach but it’s also large enough that you don’t feel crowded.
It is often called one of the best beaches in Canada - although I think many of PEI’s beaches would make this list!
It is sometimes called Singing Sands, because there is a lot of silica in the white sand so when you step on the sand it sings back to you.
It’s a great bet if you want to spend the day as there is a supervised beach, children’s play area, kayak and paddle board rentals and showers along with food on site.
There is also a Fisheries Museum on site.
I personally like the beach carpet on one side of the beach, which makes walking through the soft sand much easier.

Reminded me of my childhood summers at Hampton Beach, N.H. My mom told me the water was so cold I'd come out with bluish skin and chattering teeth😅 When we started going to Cape Cod, I thought the water was like a hot tub by comparison. You guys were having a true family summer vacation. What a great tradition!❤

I keep forgetting there is a whole country north of Niagara Falls. I grew up in Cleveland and you just grow up thinking the only way to go is to the warmth.

I think because they aren't reliable. There's no standard and so can't be relied on.
