I'm not sure if you have to be proud of that. China has 34 Unesco Global Geoparks while the US and Australia have none. Well, Australia had one before but they didn't renew their membership. So it is not as prestigious as it sounds. This is obviously the brainchild of China.

I was born and raised in the next town, 14 km away (30 mins by car), but at 17moved to a next island province for college studies and work. I was never at Anda de Boracay till I was 62. I was really amazed by this fine-sand beach, because my place, which is on the other side of Anda peninsula, has nothing but muddy swamps full of nipa palms and pagatpat trees. Although a superb sandbar of Lumislis is only 4 km away, I need a boat to reach there. At that time, the beach was very natural, devoid of commercial structures like hotels and food courts. The second time I had a visit here was 3 years later, when my mother passed away. By then, the natural beauty was spoiled by structures encroaching the beach. Then, persons soliciting sale of commercial accommodations abound, like mosquitoes. I was disappointed, much more by a roadblock that stops every car, collecting fees. As I have inherited an hectare of property of choice location in my town, I have planned to buy an RV and be an old beach bum, maybe writing some poetry as I was a poet in my teens -- then alternating as a farmer to make my property productive. What a way for an end game!

Hey jonathan. I am a recent travel escapes subcribee BUT i've binged on your beautiful vlogs already! Thank you for promoting positive vibes about my country. For highlighting the natural beauty of my country and exposing the innate radiance of my peeps! It is so heartwarming to watch and virtually feel what you are experiencing. And yes, everyone may not be able to speak your tongue as well as you do but they surely can understand your heart and your English well and good! BTW, what you are experiencing now and will continue to experience (generosity, warmth, kindness, happiness, joy, do you want me to go on?....) are NOT a regional NOR a local thing, consider it given expectations wherever you are - from the north tip of the Batanes Islands to the south ends of the Sulu Islands! Soak into the warmth of my country and my people! Some helpful tips for your everyday use and knowledge - so you blend well with the locals. In our own language, our national language is called Pilipino. Outside of our language, it is named Filipino. (We do not have F letter or sound in our Filipino alphabet.) Both terms are also applicable to the Philippine citizenry. Filipino language is mostly based off Tagalog dialect. Although Tagalog dialect is spoken and can be understood in all 3 archipelagos (Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao), it is predominantly spoken in the , well, "Tagalog" region which is in Luzon, the northern part of the country. In our vocabulary and alphabet, this is how our vowels sound when you read them, you always enunciate them using the short sound version: a as in spa e as in bet i as in hit o as in on/off u as in to or moo When you are reading a Filipino menu or local street signs or instructions or anything with Filipino words, most of the time you say the word as you read it (with the vowels sound in mind ^^^). As with other languages and/or dialects, be mindful of where the accent within syllables is when you pronounce a word. e.g. Sala'-mat, accent on the 2nd syllable, and not Sa'-lamat or Salamat'. On some multi-meaning words, a shift in syllable accent may mean different thing, which might get you in a funny or troublesome situation. e.g. ba'ti - greeting, to greet; bati' - jerk-off/spank the monkey, whisk an egg, or whip a sikwate Good morning (Cebuano) Ma-a'yong bun'tag (Tagalog) Magan-dang' uma'ga Good noon (11:30ish am - 12:30ish pm) (Cebuano) Ma-a'yong ud'to (Tagalog) Magan-dang' tangha'li Good afternoon (Cebuano) Ma-a'yong ha'pon (Tagalog) Magan-dang' ha'pon Good evening (Cebuano) Ma-a'yong gabi'-i (Tagalog) Magan-dang' gabi'

Wowwww thank you so much for this! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find an app or something like that to help me with bisaya. I’ve been focusing more on that since the locals in Bohol always speak Bisaya with each other, and I want to understand them, but I know I need to learn Tagalog as well. Thank you for your sub and watching as well! Plenty more to come!

@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Bisaya, in and on itself, is a term that comprise of different multiple dialects from the Visayas archipelago/region and NOT from the "Tagalog" region. Again, the same term can also be applied to an individual or a person hailing from that region where Bisaya (specific dialect) is spoken. These are some of the dialects that I know of are considered Bisaya: - Cebuano, spoken and understood in multiple cities/regions in parts of Visayas and Mindanao - but as the name indicates its a Cebu native tongue, Bohol, Davao City (where I had my childhood), CDO, Butuan, etc. - Ilonggo (Hiligaynon), spoken and understood in multiple cities/regions in parts of Visayas and Mindanao - Panay Islands (Ilo-Ilo, Roxas, Kalibo), Romblon, Negros, Bacolod, etc. - Waray, spoken and understood in multiple cities/regions in parts of Visayas - Samar, Leyte, and Biliran islands. - Masbateno, Masbate Island - Chavacano, Zamboanga, heavy-Spanish language influence I was wide awake during my Philippine history subject, but unfortunately, these are the only ones I remember. I hope your viewers and subscribers can share and chime in.

@@MyUeueToob Cebuano, Hiligaynon and Waray are languages and not dialects. Dialects are Batangas Tagalog and Bulacan Tagalog. Dialects are variations of a language. They are a little different from each other but they will understand each other. On the other hand, a Cebuano and an Ilonggo will not understand each other because Cebuano and Hiligaynon are languages and are totally different from each other. There may be some similar words but that is like there are similar words between Tagalog and Bahasa.

Hey Jonathan -Quinale beach in Anda is a stunning beach but there are a lot of more beautiful coves you can explore in Anda. If u r still around the area, i suggest u explore Lamanok Is. From there you can go to Candijay. It's a beautiful beautiful winding road going there. Also, if I may suggest, try visit Cansiwang in Guindulman, it's the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen in all of Bohol. That and those beautiful beautiful rolling hills of Mabini and Ubay (Ubay Stock Farm). Have fun travelling and keep safe.

Hi Jonathan, my family and I are in Boracay now! I’m actually kinda envious of you, that looks better than Boracay beach. There is a lot of algae in the water, it’s really crowded and most places are pricey, close to America prices and sometimes even higher. Today it is really windy and the wavy on the beach. We might be checking out Anda with our next visit to the Philippines, thank you for your recommendation!

Thanks for watching Jason! That seems to be the downsides of Boracay now. Because of its natural beauty and popularity it seems it has gotten crowded and expensive. Is this another area of the beach where you went scuba diving? Beautiful, the place is just beautiful , very clear , clean water. The eatery where you ate has a LOT of different dishes , there’s one dish there that I haven’t eaten since I came here in the US , the squid with black ink . If it’s fresh has the right amount of vinegar and lots of garlic it’s so delicious. Growing up in the Philippines, we usually eat a lot of fish and other seafoods although I grew up in Manila and not in a place near the sea . When I see a blog showing a lot of food I’m so excited 😀 Till the next blog 👍👏👏👏

May I suggest that you do what Philippines Life vloggers did in Boracay wherein they instead of getting a hotel or renting an Air bnb, they struck a deal with a land owner and I think constructed a simple house or beautified an existing house. The cost turned out to be their rental and the house was according to their specs. A 2k per night in Anda is costly similar to the cost of a city hotel. God bless

We just ran across your video of Anda Beach area. Last year my Leyte wife and I came to spend 6 weeks around Bohol and Southern Leyte and she did not care for Panglao. I also have been searching for a nice white sandy beach in the Visayas and ran into this looking at Google maps. We were very pleased to see all that you showed of the town. We plan on a 3 month stay with a rental in the Dumaguete area to try out daily life for my part, but I was thinking of trying a couple weeks in the area you showed near the center of town. It looks great there! I would love to get more information on food and other local conveniences. Nice video man!

I think its not crowded with non-local tourists because the airport is nearer panglao and tourists are used to staying in that area. We passed by Anda before as part of the land tour, but we still wen't back to our accomodations in Panglao. its already around 20 kilometers from Alona Beach in Panglao to Tagbilaran, then you have to travel further to get to Anda.

It seems that Anda is not a popular tourist destination yet. There are not so many tourists walking around the town and even on the beach. But I expect more tourists to visit that place after watching this video. The tourists are just not aware that Anda has beautiful beaches.
