Man, if it were nice walking ground beneath a tunnel of trees from Delaware to California, I might actually attempt that walk. This trail looks so pleasant.

That would be nice, but sadly public land and human powered transit paths are not that big a priority in some states

I keep telling my town it's tallgrass prairie 6:10 and they keep fining me for not mowing my yard.

When you finally hit the Katy trail and turned left I knew you were headed the wrong way. Lol Love seeing you guys in my neck of the woods. I found your page 3 days late or I would have tried to meet you somewhere along the Katy. Lots of great spots along the trail. Herman is a great town to divert to but I’m sure by this point you’ve probably passed there already. Be safe and have the time of your lives. Great videos.

Yeah, we already passed Hermann. We are actually closing in on Rocheport tonight.

Day 87. I dig the vibe of the Katy Trail. All the traffic walking was making me anxious.

Don’t worry. Give it about 300 miles and we’ll be back to highways. I think Colorado in particular is likly to be a bit traffic heavy

Good to know that even experienced hikers take wrong turns. I feel validated for my own blunders!

Enjoy the Katy trail. First night’s campsite looks sufficient. Hopefully, the rest of the nights on the Katy also provide good tenting possibilities. -Geo

It has been a bit of a mixed bag, honestly. There are the occasional spots, but for the most part, it seems like it’s geared towards cyclist with a bigger range, an easier time planning, and the ability to pay more money.

Haha, smashing that crossing button and making a software testing reference. Yep, software always works for the developer. Then you get real people to find all the bugs you thought weren't there. LOL

Has the trail been closed due to flooding in any places? We just crossed the Katy on I-70 near Rocheport and the Missouri River looks quite high. Good luck to the two of you! Thank you for sharing your journey.

The water has been high, but since the Katy Trail is a rail bed it is higher than the surrounding land. I saw one creek that was starting to creep over the trail a few days back but other than that, it has been open and just fine. A few side roads and such have been closed due to flooding and in one case they routed traffic on to the Katy as a result

They are one of the lower tier models of Julbo glacier glasses. Just be aware that technically you are not allowed to wear them while driving.

One of you all needs to get that duck out of your shoe, lol! Kept hearing it quack as you walked😂. Also, I hope you don’t run into it, but I believe the state of Missouri is trying to make it illegal to camp anywhere that isn’t an official camping spot, SMH. Hope none of that happens to you all.

Most of the squeaking is actually coming from my cell phone pouch. The HMG pouch tends to do that periodically. I think it’s the clip design
